1967 Lincoln Project Update 25 Jun 2024 AC work and a clock

Attempt Two at Midas also failed. There's still something wrong. There is a small charge now on the system and the compressor is definitely working hard because it slows down the engine speed when I run it. I only ran it for a few seconds though because it's making some kind of strange noise. My usual mechanic wants to take a shot at it so I have an appointment with him soon to see what he can do. I received my rebuilt clock and installed it. The support bracket I installed under the car for the AC compressor caused problems too I'll have to address later. Not a real productive day, but I did receive some positive comments from others while I was out driving the car so that keeps me going!

Appreciate your attention to detail and your level headedness. I would have blown a gasket when that brace for the AC pump didn't match up. That was allot of work pulling it out, reinstalling it, and expecting it to fit. You're a better man than me.

Thanks. If nothing else, I am patient. What gets me is my penchant for repeating mistakes of the past. I even talked about it before I installed the brace. The fact that I have had to use shims or washers in the past to get things lined up correctly. Fortunately, I don't have the pressure of "having to get this done" quickly. It's a past time that I enjoy even though it's frustrating at times. And I hope people learn from my mistakes..

Dang, that compressor mounting system is just insane. Hope your mechanic finds the issue with the refrigerant system on Thursday.

Yes, it is. I should’ve known better though from past experience. I’m re-learning the same lessons. Yeah I hope my mechanic can figure it out too.
