- In this video we cover the Fire Suppression System overview.
This is probably one of the only things I did not do myself. 1 because I don't have the Fire Inspector License to tag extinguishers and 2 I don't have the equipment to do it.

I followed all your builds on a food truck. It has helped me a lot to build my food truck. I'm at the point where I need a fire suppression system. And i'm stuck there trying to figure that part out

Where are you? I found someone in Indiana if it would help you. Because I called a lot of places & was get quotes from $4500-$7500 which is insane.

Was curious your AHJ. Allows for unions on the Lp gas piping system inside the mobile food facility?
I know it's late, but we use a lot of stainless. The best way to remove the glue residue is alcohol for cooking. It's a lot stronger. Spray on lightly 20 sec later use dry cloth.

That comes with the fire suppression system. I did not install that system, had a 3rd party do that part

For sticky residue use water and scrape with blade
We do BBQ with an offset vertical and traditional live fire grills. Do you think that's something that would be allowed other than go gas?
That one I would have no idea. My suggestion ask the HD and Fire Department see if they allow live fires first

They supplied the system and install, probably a bit higher in price now.
Thanks for posting all this great content. I was wanting to know if your available to email because i have a foot truck but its been down for a couple years and id like to send you pictures if that helps. also would like to ask questions about estimates for updating the appliances.
Question why was the manual pull station not install near the door/exit? Was there just lack of real estate ? Also, as a pyrochem distributor those guys should know better to install the link brackets in the duct mouth opening per manufacturers and NFPA requirements. Interesting the route they chose to take with the appliance nozzle piping on the front of the hood instead of using a quick seal to come in for the side like most.
Yeah I'm not sure in this topic much. Fire Department liked it. They said it was a green light with them.

Hey Frank, I have a new food truck in Austin TX and was surprised with a new requirement for an Ansul system. I’m wondering what I can do to make this as affordable as possible? The companies are charging me around 4K; maybe this is standard and won’t be able to get it much cheaper.

Should I do the fire suppression before or after i install the gas lines in my food truck?
Before because you have to add a little box that they provide typically between your equipment and the main propane tanks

The system was installed by a 3rd party fire system company here in Illinois.
Do you know the size pipe used for the fire suppression system?
out of the tank its 1/2" NPT, then you reduce down to 3/8"- Thats for a Pyro-Chem. which is what he has.
Ansul systems use 3/8"only.
Range Guard can be 3/4 - 3/8.

I’m still not sure what you are saving by installing the fire suppression separately? Maybe you said it and I missed it. I know you have to have it tagged but seems like that would cost less than a total install if you just had hoodmart factory installed. What am I missing?
Hood Mart does not factory install. They can't, everything comes in pieces. As per my conversation with them
@@fbaltierrezok I see but even with that is it predrilled and cleaner lines if it’s their own pipes? Then just have the fire guys install and tag. Is their a difference in price either way or not? Thanks
Are those fire systems mandatory in your area ?
They are if you have an open flame. But they are not required everywhere

No. They don't really care as long as it's a certified company installing it

Best tip, just call around local Fire extinguisher places and ask for prices and details. Some don't work on food trucks keep that in mind

How much the whole system cost ?
Back a few years ago I paid 2,500-2,900. No idea what they are at the current time
Was that $2500 just to install or install plus system together
$2,500 is everything. Pull stations, ansul tanks and such. The class K and ABC extinguisher is separate

detection is wrong, and appliances line is ugly looking. shouldve bn done inside of the hood
3rd party installed the fire suppression. In my opinion I think the lines they installed were perfect. All personal preference I suppose

@@pressurewashingandhoodcleaning I didn't install it, it's certified installed by a 3rd party and fire department passed it so it works for me.
