I always watch videos in laptop mode. This mode provides around 5.5 inches or 14 centimeters (diagonally) of screen real estate which is about the same as my Pixel 3a.

You should not be watching videos using both screens unless you absolutely want to. This is for some odd reason common among reviewers, but known by actual users of the device. You don't stretch a video across two PC screens, so why would you do that on a phone? You watch it via tent mode. You watch it in L mode. You watch it on one screen and do something else on the other screen. Reviewers have failed to "get" the Duo as much as Microsoft has failed to market the uses.

I use both when consuming content. Having the larger screen to view is great! I do agree that the real benefit is using something else, like OneNote to take notes in, while watching the vide or meeting. Taking notes while viewing is a very underrated think to do.

@@biztabletpc I do the same thing. I honestly watch videos using both too, but I think many reviewers mislead people by making them think that should be default behavior. Yes multitasking is definitely the best on this device! It makes online schooling absolutely awesome when you can watch the class stream on one screen and take notes on the other!

Exactly this! Who in the world would span a video over 2 monitors? There's just no point in doing that. The whole point of the Duo is that you have a Dual screen to multitask like a pro.
If you want to watch a standard video > single screen in standard/Tent/ L mode

I liked this video. I watched it in bed last night - on my Duo2. So, watching 2 Duo2 on a Duo2 was a multi air-gap whammy effect and things went all over the place as both of you kept changing your screen aspect as mine auto rotated. 3 guys, 3 duo2's action. It made me queasy fast and flung me into sleep. I don't mind the air gap at all. It adds something that was never missing, something like a clarity - from separation. When I watch videos or applications across both screens the air gap often introduced depth. It infers that what I'm looking at is a tiny bit beyond and a window frame. It's never really in the way. Only if you look for or at it. Nose like

Is there a quick way via the pen to take a screen shot and paste the image in OneNote to enable annotations to the screen shot. I.e viewing presentation and want to mark up a particular slide for reference / feedback later? Or is there a better way to do this?

A few ways I can think of to approach this. 1. Print the whole deck to OneNote and annotate. 2. Screen shot from OneNote directly. (can configure screen capture shortcut to pen button click action) 3. Use the snipping tool and annotate in that, then paste to OneNote. 4. Annotate in PowerPoint.

I don't understand why Microsoft chose to skip the pixels in the gap, rather than just have a gap without lost pixels like on a multi-screen desktop setup. Any thoughts?

No mention of tent mode which really confuses me. These guys seem competent but at the same time seem ok with placing the screen onto a surface to prop up for watching one screen.
    Tent mode guys. Come on!

@@oztabletpc it's a common thing, though. I own a Duo2, daily drive it, and I see it often where people either haven't seen one or where they have, aren't aware of how it's intended to be used. This is a multitasking device, and it wasn't created to be used in a mode that uses in a way that spans apps across both screens that forces the user to make an exception for the gap. Thanks for the reply!

'Multi-tasking"(bad term really, should be coordinated use) is an important use case, but it's not the only. Spanned use is just as important.

@@oztabletpc I don't disagree with that, but I'm not convinced MS intended to make users deal with the gap, like you would be forced to with UA-cam. I think they aimed for functionality like what you see with OneNote and Outlook, where both screens are used (app is spanned), but each screen serves a separate function within the same app.
