    Excellent video, brother. I have my Sim in the Fold 5, but I can't stop carrying the Duo with me for all the benefits it offers that the Fold does not. It's brilliant and unique, and I'll use it as long as it keeps working. Thanks for the walk through. Hope you and the family have a wonderful holiday season together!

      Hey there! Thank you so much for your fantastic comment - it brought a big smile to my face! It means a lot to connect with other tech enthusiasts who share the same excitement about the amazing advancements in technology today. I actually had a blast putting together this video. I was simply curious to see how the Surface Duo would stack up against modern chipsets, and the results were really impressive, especially as a consumption device. Even with other foldables and flagship phones like Pixels and iPhones available, I still find myself coming back to the Surface Duo as my go-to content provider. Thanks again for being a part of the channel and for your incredible support - it truly means a lot to me!

      You are so very welcome. For those who have experienced the Surface Duo, it's hard to beat the multitasking and sleek form factor. I'm still amazed with how well it performed even with the older chip. Thanks for watching and for supporting the channel. Wishing you well. 👍

    I think Microsoft gave up on the duo to early kinda how Sony gave up on vita and there are still people using vita till this day.

      Hey there! I've absolutely loved reading all your comments on the videos. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I completely agree with you that Microsoft pulled the plug on the duo way too soon. It's really disappointing because it's a device that so many people, myself included, really love. There's no word yet on whether they'll release a Surface Duo 3, but I'm sure you're feeling the same way as me - a bit skeptical. I genuinely appreciate all your comments and your involvement in the community. Your support means a lot and makes a real difference. Keep those comments coming!

    I have the Surface Duo one and enjoy it as a secondary device. I see no need for the Duo 2. Like you said most less expensive bar phones have better cameras anyway. I carry a Pixel Pro as primary so I get the best of both worlds in my view. Thank you for the comparison, it honestly sets me more at ease.

      You hit the nail on the head there! Having the Surface Duo in your pocket is a game-changer. You don't miss out on anything compared to other foldables, especially when it comes to multitasking or enjoying videos. If you're looking to take great pictures, then yes, a primary phone is the way to go. They excel in that area for half the cost of those big foldables that don't even have the best cameras. Thank you for your comment, and I truly appreciate your support. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

    I have the original duo and it's been my main device since last march. I had the fold 4 but gave it to my son. I just like the multi tasking better on the duo and it's plenty fast for me!

      Hey, you seem totally committed to making the most of your devices, and that's truly impressive! It's awesome that you're enjoying the Surface Duo. I also love using the Surface Duo without a sim and tethering it to my default 5G for a fast and seamless experience when I'm out and about. The multitasking capability of the Surface Duo is really unmatched, right? Thanks a ton for sharing your experiences in the comments. Your support and active participation in the community mean a lot to me, so thank you!

    I use the duo as my primary device no complaints wish it had wireless charging and external display support and apple pay or a form of that.

      Wow, it's really impressive that you're able to use the Surface Duo as your primary device. That's quite an accomplishment - kudos to you! I also found it interesting that they chose not to include wireless charging or NFC in the device, especially since they didn't incorporate these features in the Surface Duo 2 either. I guess they must have had their reasons, maybe to maintain its slim design. I do miss those features when using the Surface Duo myself. I still use my Surface Duo as you can see in the videos I release, and I still really enjoy it. Thanks again for your comment - I truly appreciate it!

    Hi, great video and I still have my surface Duo, use it at home for consumption but I am curious about getting it upgraded through some techy sites, have you done that yourself and do you think that would allow it to speed up any? Or in general make it more functional?, I actually am not very dissatisfied with the camera, comparing it to an iPhone 13 mini, it does just as well and does better with macro shots, I'm trying to just carry one phone on my body and the surface duo is what I would like it to be!

      Great questions! First off, let's clarify whether we're discussing the original Surface Duo or the Surface Duo 2. The Surface Duo should be upgraded to Android 12, which runs quite smoothly. I haven't noticed any speed reduction compared to my modern phones with Android 14. As for the Surface Duo 2, I believe it should be upgradeable all the way up to 14 in due time - it has upgrades available until October this year.
      Now, regarding your second question, I personally haven't tried third-party upgrades for my Surface Duo. The current options attempt to install either Windows 10 or 11, or transform it into a Pixel Fold-style device. Unfortunately, both options mean losing the basic Surface Duo two screen function, which I'm not willing to give up. On Shane Craig's channel, he provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your phone with either Windows or the Pixel format. I'd recommend checking out his channel for those instructions. I hope this information proves helpful. Let me know if you decide to make any changes or stick with the current setup, which is my recommendation.

      Hi, thanks for the response, I have the surface Duo original, I did have the duo 2 for about a week and then it completely crashed and I was able to return it, I was happy with it for that week with a better camera but I still didn't like the fact it couldn't fold open completely flat. So I guess I would also not be interested in doing the so-called upgrades, and losing the current function, I am still trying to figure out the best way to keep my Apple watch ultra but put my SIM in the surface Duo, and turn my iPhone off and just use the cellular component of the watch, I love the ability to answer my phone on my watch, but none of the android-based watches really comes close to what the Apple watch ultra can do. I will soon be putting the SIM back in my surface Duo just to see how it performs with the 4G and once again I think I'm okay with the cameras as I have regularly compared them with my other phones and after enhancing through the Google photos app they come out pretty darn good. Anyway thanks for your response and love your channel, and I think we're in the same age group as well so that really is a good thing!, thanks again, Dan

    iPhone user here. (13 pro max) considering a fold 6-7 possibly if they fix a few key issues. Better outer screen, integrated s-pen and utilize the same cameras from the main line ultra phones. Without raising the current price. Then I’ll be more tempted to leave Apple.

    • @GOTgoodoldtech-1964
      @GOTgoodoldtech-1964  5 місяців тому

      I really appreciate the iPhone user's opinion. Thank you so much for your comment, and I completely agree with you. The thin front screen on the Z Fold is definitely a downside. I also think it would be amazing to see the s-en feature work on both the outer and inner screens. It's surprising that it hasn't been done yet. Who knows, maybe Apple will release a foldable phone in the next few years. The only thing that concerns me would be the cost. Once again, thank you for sharing your perspective. I truly value your input!
