I received my vacuum bell today. At first it's a bit inconvenient, weird BUT after just 30 minutes use the result are INCREDIBLE. I almost started to cry in happiness. However, my pectus does go back to its original place after a short time, but not completely. I was told I can't make a change with this device because I'm too old. (24/M) but it's not true!!! So guys, I definitely suggest buying one, if you are thinking about it. I can't wait to see the result after a long period of time. For me it's worth all the money to have a normal (or close to normal) chest. The only side effects of using this device so far was red skin and itching.

@@ogray2635 I wrote an update 5 days ago, you can read it above. Since then I've been using the vacuum bell 3x1 hour a day, my skin is getting used to it. After using it my pectus stays flat for a few hours and slowly goes back to its original place. However, when I use it so often, it doesn't have time to reach its original position.

@@benjaminsmith6634 So far, nothing. This thing works after quite some time, so i expect some results after a few months. Also, my pectus is rather weird. My ribcage is perfect, only my sternum is dented. In my case, it will need more time than usual. If your ribcage is dented as well, like this kid in the video, you might see results a bit faster. Hope this helps!

You are 14, you have tons of free time most likely, so you have nothing to lose if you start using it. You just need to be persistent with it

It's strange. I have Ehlers-danlos. When I was very young, there was really no highly noticeable pectus ex. It was somewhere about in middle school that I started to notice and became self-conscious about it but I didn't know what it really was, just that my chest looked weird. My parents had no idea. When I told them when I was 42 years old, they were surprised and said if they had known or had seen it, would probably have done something. I think it just got worse over year. I wasn't born with anything noticeable. I can't tell in any pictures from when i was younger. Sad if I can't fix it now. It really makes me self-conscious more than ever. Even when I was 200 lbs and jacked, I didn't like the look.
Hi everyone, i bought mine in December 2018 and have seldom been using it for the last year. The results are the following:
My pectus was around 2cm deep before i started using it. Now, after all this time, it is around 0.5cm. It is kind of hard to properly to exactly measure, so these are estimates. The good thing is, the change seems to be done for good.
The change is permanent, as there have been moments where I have not been using the vacuum bell for maybe 2 to 3 months. Even when i use it nowadays, it is briefly, as the effect is almost non-existent now. It does raise the remainder of the sternum, but that small part simply goes back to its original place.
With that being said, your sternum will not look perfect, far from it, but it will look much better (i think all of us here are actually aiming for a look that is as normal as possible, not perfect :) ).
I also must mention that the LOWER PART of the sternum has been fixed almost perfectly, where as the UPPER PART looks better, but not completely lifted. I tried applying the vacuum in different ways, but it seems that the upper part is much harder, if not impossible to fix.
I will make a video (for real this team, as I finally have a lot of free time) and will post it in the following days. I will explain in more detail there and you will be able to see the changes first hand.

Have a mild version of it, Not affecting my lungs or heart. I'm 15 years old and I hope i'm not to late. When i was very young like 6-7 years old I didn't have pectus excavatum but as time progressed my chest gradually started to shrink which made me worry. Same here. I had it done back in like 89 - the Ravitch procedure which is much more invasive. To top it all off, mine sunk back in. So I have not only a severe case with a severe rib flare, I have a nice scar down the center, too.

Diamond push-ups are harder on your triceps though, I recommend 15 sets of your max amount of push-ups and then if you access to a bench and barbell, decline bench press your comfortable weight and slowly progress to higher weights every sessions

ZJ Chen You might want to contact Dr. J’s team at Mayo clinic Arizona. She is the world’s expert at adult pectus repair. Her team should be able to help you find the best pediatric specialist for your baby’s condition. However, they may be too young for surgery. It is usually best to wait until they are around 15 years old so the chest is done growing but still young and flexible (without cartilage ossification).
This vacuum bell isn't for sale unfortunately. It probably needs to hooked up to a canister to work anyway. All the bells sold are hand-pumped.

(Sorry bad english, Im not a native) - I started to use vacum bel with 18 years old (now Im almost 20). And trust me, it really works and I had a great result! But you need to have discipline to use EVERYDAY for 1-2 hours.

No, vacuum bells do not work against rip flare. Some people suggest doing core strengthening exercises. There is a also a brace for the rips which you can ware. I am not sure about the success rates of either methods. But for me vacuumbell has not shown any improvement either. Good luck

1) Can I let her try Vacuum bell?
2) If she tried now, will it affect the rib to grow unnaturally and force the rib to have flare bone? Meaning the one dented grow out nicely, but the other part of the ribs that is fine previously being affected and it will grow protruding?
You probably shouldn't mess with the way her ribs grow. You could cause some serious damage. Consult with a Doctor
Hey Jessie! I had mild pectus at the age of 12. My mistake was that I've chosen fencing as a sport and computer as a hobby. So during the day I did nothing good for my chest, but at least I did some sports. If I could do it again, I would go swimming, tennis or kayaking, and I would never had to have a surgery. The key solution is that one should have good sitting/standing posture and muscles both in chest and back (it is very important also), and growing will effect this slightly. Your girl doesn't have to be a body builder, just don't let her become a geek with a sitting position of an old lady. I think this is the best you can do for her.

Yes, after a certain time (1-2 hours) it gets very sweaty, and if you leave it long enough pus can form.

@@QuickMadeUpName Naturally, you need to put on more pressure compared to someone in their early teens. Otherwize, there is no difference. The older you get, the longer your stenrum will stay up after removing the bell. It will hurt a lot after using it the first few times, but eventually your skin is going to get more used to it.

Alright, I have been using the vacuum bell from December 2018, and these are the results from the usage so far:
1. There is little permanent change, but it is noticeable, which i guess is good. The hole is slightly smaller nowadays, but still noticeable nevertheless.
2. After usage, my sternum stays in place for several hours easy. At the start, it would stay lifted barely 1 hour or so. Nowadays, I can put on the vacuum bell for 45 minutes, and the sternum will be lifted for 4-5 hours before starting to sink back.
3. The most annoying part is the irritated skin, takes me about a week before my skin is no longer red around the sternum area.
CONCLUSSION: It looks like this thing might work, but it definitely takes a lot of time and perseverance. I use it around 4-5 times a week, for about 2 hours. I get the best results when I put it at night, and take it off before going to sleep. This way, the sternum stays lifted for the duration of my sleep.
I once read somewhere from a guy that used it that it took him about 3 years for more permanent change, which seems reasonable with me now that I have been using the vacuum bell for 1 year.
Unless you are absolutely devoted to using this thing, do not bother buying it.
In short, that is all i can share now. More to come in the following months.

It will be difficult to work because of ur age ur bones are harder but I don’t say that it dont work it just could be not the results that ur waiting for.
I advice you to consult a specialist, it’s what I ve done and now I have the vacuum bell and the results are good for 2 months.

I am working out and training swimming along with breathing exarcises in order to expand my chest. My mom and I bought the vacum bell for 500$ and I really hope it is not a scam since i just want my chest to not be the main topic of laughing and jokes. Please let me know if you bought it online.
