Thanks. I had just about given up trying to use the Doff n Donner. Must try this technique. Will post how I manage. Could I suggest you fo some videos with actual patients? Your skinny legs fail to replicate challenging physical issues that some of us have. If I lived any closer I'd lend you my chunky, swollen legs@! I must check out the green mat. Not sure if available in Canada. Great video. Thanks

Aren’t you sweet!🙄🙄🙄🙄. Making fun of his legs! Perhaps he has “skinny” legs because he takes care of himself? Also I’m sure wouldn’t want your swollen legs as he is simply trying to demonstrate this product! Be kind for Christ’s sake!

I'm 4'11, and my bed is high, so my feet don't reach the floor. Will the Pick-Stick and Doff N Donner technique still work?

I tried this a few times, it is not working for me this way cause the reacher is too long and no option to make it shorter. The original pikstik is not in stock anywhere, I mean the short one you use. I purchased The reacher but it is too long. you need strength in your hands, that I don't have also. I wasted alot of money for to buy 4 devises. It's very expensive. Is there anything easy? My left leg is very painful can not lift it up nor bow down no nothing. My hands hurt and weak too. I need pressure stocking for blood flow. I don't put them on cause I can't remove the left side on my leg. Please help. Thank you.

What would be cool, would be to have someone who has that lack of flexibility use this device, including placing it flat on the floor to show those angled handles are reachable when flat. Don't assist them at all. The video might be longer, but would be worth it.
The butler type donners are useless in my case. Also, a lot of the parts look to be plastic, and breakable. Your product review video shows the thing already in use. It would probably be better to show it being unboxed to explain the parts and how they all work, and tell us if they are plastic.
For those of us who travel, how does this device break down to fit inside a suitcase and not have to be a carry-on that probably won't fit in the aircraft overhead compartment?
My healthcare team provided me with a different device, which is all metal like a butler, but the handles rotate to vertical while lying flat on the floor, easy to reach. These handles also fold over the hinges making it a compact 13cm x 22cm x 31cm (5-1/8" x 8-1/2" x 11-7/8") and is only one piece. The one problem is the diameter of the round part that holds the stocking is only 10cm (4") which makes it painful on my heel to use every time. I contacted that manufacturer, and was told that's the only size of that device so they suggested the small device with rope handles, which isn't good for stockings. The compact device is Dorking Stocking donner. Do you know of another device I could use with rotating and collapsible handles with a larger cuff size?

Yes, I would agree, we always see people with no disability demonstrate how to use helping devices.

Yes. It can be used for thigh high as well. Here's a video that demonstrates how to load the thigh high on the Donner for it to work. ua-cam.com/video/1iJGNesLZHQ/v-deo.html

I don’t get why ppl keep demonstrating this wearing socks, compression hose are not put on over socks, which is confusing if you are teaching someone or if someone is watching this video. Another easy way is to use baby powder or corn starch by sprinkling some inside the hose which will help it slide over your foot.

How about making the Doff n Donner for pantyhose?? Seriously--putting on socks is one issue but pantyhose is a horrific nightmare!!!

Many of our patients weigh more than that. Many are in their 80ies and 90ies. Most wear 30-40mmHg. I know I'm a skinny guy in the video but that is just to demonstrate the technique. It is not possible for all, but with training, it can be done. Don't give up! I know it's frustrating and I wish I had a better solution. Also, I know it's not easy to lose weight, but we are having good success with our weight loss program. Our weight loss heroes have lost 190lbs together this year. Maybe with a less than 15mmHG.
Try with a real 230 pounds guy with a big belly trying to put on a 20-30 mmHg socks. Thanks.

That about sums up me except I'm about 260 and 6 feet tall. I'm new to compression socks and have a bad back. 57 years old 20-30 on the compression level. I have had some luck using the white sock aid with the ropes you pull on to get the sock on. Using the jobst brand large but once on at the top portion of the sock it's very tight and after wearing about 8 hours my leg at the top portion of the sock and just below that top area my skin is very dark and looks like the circulation is cut off,but lower it's ok. I tried cutting off that top band but then the sock tries to constrict back down my leg. I'm going to try the jobst brand large in a size they call full calf the foot portion is the same but the calf portion is larger. I'm using to combat swelling in my feet and ankles. I had cellulitis and that's when the foot swelling really started. I also had about 6 months I wasn't moving around much because of back pain so I think that is something to do with it. I now have a ulcer on my right leg that has been healing for about 5 months and now trying to use the compression socks it is red and burning around that ulcer and now after trying the socks my left leg is getting that red burning skin on the side of my shin and looks like an ulcer may be forming. I'm going to a dermatologist Monday hopeing she can figure something out. I'm interested if you've had any luck because of similar size and compression.
