Thank you so very much. You are an excellent instructor. After two days of watching people try to teach how to do this I got very frustrated. Crocheted and tore it up, crocheted and tore it up so many times I was ready to cry. Then I found this. THANK YOU! I’m on my way to a nice oval rug!
Thank you soooooo much for taking the time to make this video and for continuing it to make it big… It every row is a new pattern and for as big as I need mine I would NEVER have been able to complete my project without your videos ❤❤❤…
You are absolutely the best! I have been trying for literally months of watching so many videos on how to do the oval pattern, but I kept getting hung up on the beginning and ending. Now I know there are 6 sets of the corner pattern and every even number round will always start with just an increase! Thank you so very much.❤ I am now a new subscriber!
Sooo very glad I found your channel. I'm not a beginner at crocheting, and, I've made an oval pattern before, but, I'd forgotten how to make them. I've watched so many videos about making oval patterns, and, they've all only showed the first couple of rounds. I could remember how the end - pattern changed from two DC in each stitch to a 1 - 2 - 1 pattern, but, couldn't recall just when that change took place. I also remembered how the successive rounds changed their counts, but, couldn't remember where on them, either. With watching your video here, I now remember the complete pattern for making an oval shape. Now, I am hoping to be able to adapt it to make a continuous or spiral shaped oval. TYSM for sharing this video with us - brings back so many memories for me as I've been crocheting and knitting for over 46 years. 😻❣🥰
Watched an earlier video you pasted a year ago on beginning the oval. Now I am totally hooked on your channel (no pun intended). This has given me an idea for a rug for donation for fundraising events at church or family reunions. Thank you for doing these videos with instructions and links!
I am going to try this - it does seem like the best instructions thus far. I just have to remember to do DC as all of the rugs that I've made are SC. I will be back soon to rewatch again, thank you!
I've been wanting to crochet a rug for a while now, but always got too intimidated by the pattern. You make it so simple and easy to follow, I really feel like I can do this!! I'm so excited, thank you!! 💛
I am so happy to have found this video. So easy to understand. Do you have a video showing how to make rounds in different colours without having the stairs look?
Thank so much for watching! I don’t have a video yet on changing the colors by round, however you should be able to achieve this by changing colors at the last slip stitch used to close out the rounds.
Hi. Thank you for this video. Would I be able to use the same numbers to do it in single or half double crochet or would the stitch count have to change? Thank you
Delightful voice - so easy on the ear. :) Yes, a question: as we get larger and larger, I assume we're just adding another stitch between each pir of DCs .. but I don't know if we start each round with that pair of DCs, we did in round 5 ?
Hi, thanks for watching! I saw that you were able to figure out the pattern in part 2 of the video. I also placed the stitch pattern for the ends in the description! 😊
Hi Sarah, thanks for watching! You can try a steam press. That always works for me. I like to cover my project with a cloth, preferably cotton, and then I steam press it to get it really flat.
Any idea how many chains I would need for a 4‘ x 6’ oval rug? Also I’m using jute instead of cloth.. how much jute would I need? Thank you in advance if anyone can help me with this. 🥰🥰
Hi! Thanks so much for watching! To change color, you can start the double crochet with the color you have been using but when completing the the stitch do so with another color yarn. I hope this helps.
Help!!! I've been following your pattern and doing a really large rug, and it's all curling or buckling, so it doesn't lay flat? What do I do? Do I need to unravel stitches? But how do I prevent if I redo?
Hello YarnByJodie where can I get the pattern for the ends for a much larger rug please I have both videos now I wish to go bigger please. I have tried to carry on from your pattern but it seems like to many stitches. Your help would be appreciated you can email me if you like. I am unable to find where to email you.

Could you use chunky yarn
Hi Jodie, I have finished my rug, 13 rounds. Do you have any suggestions how I make it lay flat? Mine is ruffling a little on the edge, thanks sarah
Hi Sarah, thanks for watching! You can try a steam press. That always works for me. I like to cover my project with a cloth, preferably cotton, and then I steam press it to get it really flat.
Can you tell me what size hook you used? I have very wide t shirt yarn that calls for 8-10mm hook.
Thanks for watching! I used the 5.5 mm crochet hook for this project.
How many skeins of yarn do you need?
Will this pattern work if you use single crochet instead of doubles ? 🤔 I need a stiffer base. Thanks love the video .
Hey you should make a big rectangle video because I made the big oval you made and now I need to make a rectangle
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll make a video on this soon!
Please send semi circle door mate tutorial

Hi! How many sets are in the final round that you showed? Thanks!
Hi, I’ve noted all the sets in the description box that can be used as a guide 😁
Just wondering, could add more than 14 times around?
Of course! You can make it as large as you’d like. Thanks for watching!
How large will this be when finished?
Would you just keep alternating the rows if you wanted to make it bigger? I was a 5 foot by 7 foot rug for my living room.
Yes you would. I linked part 2 in the description box, if that help. Thanks for watching!
I loved this video, you explain very well. What size is the finished project?
Thank you for watching! The rug I made was 30 inches wide and 17 inches high. I hope this helps!

Hi, I’ve linked the yarn I used in the description box! Thank you!
Hi, I love this video. Do you have a written pattern?? Thanks.
Hi, the pattern is quite long. Is it the pattern for ends that you would like the written pattern for?
How would you change colors with this pattern? Love the video:)
Hi! Thanks so much for watching! To change color, you can start the double crochet with the color you have been using but when completing the the stitch do so with another color yarn. I hope this helps.
What type of yarn?
What gage T-shirt yarn did you use?
Guage 5. I left a link in the description on where I got it as well. Thanks for watching!

Hi, I've added the written patterns for the ends to the description box on this video. I hope this helps 😊
I tried this pattern using acrylic yarn. The oval is not flat. There are big rolls when I lay it down.
Does this pattern not work with wool?
Hi thanks for watching! When I experience that I often try steam pressing my project with something over it to protect it.
I may have skipped it, did she share the dimensions in inches or feet?
I didn’t but it’s: Length 17 inches and width 30 inches. Hope this helps ☺️
Niccccccccccccccceeeee
How can I download a written pattern?
