How to Crochet a Thick Squishy Rug | One Row Repeat Reversible | Crochet Pattern Tutorial

- This crochet Rug Floor Mat design is made with a One row repeat, Reversable crochet stitch that results in a thick, squishy rug.
I think this stitch would make a wonderfully squishy bath mat / shower mat or a cotton hot pad. How about a cat or dog pet mat? And of course, a door mat!
I used a super bulky 6 Ice Yarn & a 9mm crochet hook. By all means, try using up your scrap yarn to make this rug!

Very beautifully unique stitch pattern. I practiced this stitch with jute because I bought a lot to make a large floor mat and have looked at many stitch patterns. I don't have to look any further! Thanks Darla! I've been wanting to make a mat of sorts. Currently working one with puff stitches which is also nice and thick. I will definitely be trying this stitch too as you always need a mat somewhere lol.

That's different than what I've seen labeled as thermal crochet but what a cool stitch. Think I'll try it out
Agreed. This isn't thermal stitch. It starts like an ext sc and then ends with a half double slip. It's like an ext sc, half double slip together stitch, without decreasing. That's a mouthful. Lol
I love it. And now I want to know what this is called.
On second look, it isn't a half double slip because there isn't another yarn over.
It's a non-decreasing ext-sc/sl st tog.
This is great Darla 😃 I actually have lots of rug like yarns that I bought purposely for to make rugs especially bath mats 🤪😛 I had some other patterns printed out for them but might try this as well 😜

This is super cute. I've got some super bulky tape yarn for making a kitchen runner. Alas, mine will have to be less textured because i don't have enough yardage for this stitch.
