Agreed. This isn't thermal stitch. It starts like an ext sc and then ends with a half double slip. It's like an ext sc, half double slip together stitch, without decreasing. That's a mouthful. Lol I love it. And now I want to know what this is called. On second look, it isn't a half double slip because there isn't another yarn over. It's a non-decreasing ext-sc/sl st tog.
Thanks Darla! I've been wanting to make a mat of sorts. Currently working one with puff stitches which is also nice and thick. I will definitely be trying this stitch too as you always need a mat somewhere lol.
Very beautifully unique stitch pattern. I practiced this stitch with jute because I bought a lot to make a large floor mat and have looked at many stitch patterns. I don't have to look any further! Your stitch pattern is wonderful for jute I have. Thank you loads for excellently teaching and sharing this stitch pattern. I will also use a thinner yarn, regular yarn weight, and make a scarf. Most appreciative of you❣
I love this stitch! Gonna make a kitchen rug with this. This stitch feels like a modified Thermal Rug Stitch... or sonething?? I would classify it as thermal (even though it's not 100% dual layered but a strange reversible "bubble" pattern) stitch because it's "dual layered" and thick, the main stitch is a modified version of the normal Rug Stitch (with an extra pull through to push the middle part of the stitch out for it to be reversible) I love my thick thermal-like stitches and will definitely add this to my library! Thanks for sharing!
This is great Darla 😃 I actually have lots of rug like yarns that I bought purposely for to make rugs especially bath mats 🤪😛 I had some other patterns printed out for them but might try this as well 😜 Thanks so much! ❤
I've been wanting to make a couple of small rugs to place in front of our recliners, but didn't know where to begin or what stitch to use. So, thank you very much for this easy to follow tutorial making a great looking rug, perfect!♥
Hi Darla, hope all is well. Love this rug pattern, I couldn’t find the ICE yarn so I’m using polyester yarn. I hope it works well. What’s this stitch called
This is super cute. I've got some super bulky tape yarn for making a kitchen runner. Alas, mine will have to be less textured because i don't have enough yardage for this stitch. What other rugs do i need to make?? Lol
That's different than what I've seen labeled as thermal crochet but what a cool stitch. Think I'll try it out
