- UMMMMM i read all of tgcf in like 1.5 weeks and then became possessed. SORRY FOR DRAWING INCONSISTENCIES i basically drew these guys like twice before making this and then i was trying to show them ageing it was crazyyyy. anyway i love book 4 so much here is my tribute to that..

thank you so so much!!! mu qing was my first thought when i was listening to this song because of (exactly as u said) he understands the cynical money side of the world. but then i couldnt stop thinking about how book 4 is about xie lian and feng xin losing that naivety and joining the bottom of the food chain with mu qing becoming that "rich man" to them when he ascends. im so glad u liked it and thank u for ur comment 🫶
@@aetherknithe especially knows about that money because he NEEDED It, which is why I LOVE how you put that in there. He indured bullying and harassment for years even with his huge ego for the money to pay for his moms medicine and to take care of the kids and other common people, which is why I love him. Sadly when he left Xie Lian he didn’t find his mother alive, and the kids were long since dead (this was another reason he was mad at Xie Lian, because he thought that he kept the antidote a secret on purpose and his family was down there, unlike how his and Fengxins were in the palace. But he still cares and protects xie Lian) 😭 he’s so snarky, but so misunderstood and caring deep down. Heck, he cared so much about one pearl that he spent his entire life searching for it even as a god, because he wanted to show Fengxin and Xie Lian that he cared.

This animatic is not *single-handedly* responsible for me reading TGCF but it's pretty damn close, and by god does the end actually making sense enhance the experience even further

OH MY GOSH THIS IS AMAZING!!! I love love love when people make animatics for songs that at first don't make a lot of sense. Like, I never would have ever connected this song for TGCF, but the lyrics and tune take on a much different vibe with the imagery you gave them--also, I just love anything having to do with xianle trio, and this is perfect!! My favorite parts especially were when Feng Xin was disbelieving Xie Lian about Bai Wuxiang and singing "a man like that is hard to find"... worked really well! also when Xie Lian was getting stabbed and screaming, and there were all the flashing frames. chills!! literal chills!! Seriously, thanks so much for sharing!!

Oh my god this was amazing. You put across all of their point of views at each point so, so well, and the small hints and Easter eggs, (like the very thinkable idea that mu Qing had a slight crush on Xie Lian because he was the only kind person to him back then), the big and bold events that occurred! This song fits much better than I had ever thought imaginable. Your art is mesmerizing and I couldn’t stop watching! The way this fandom is just full of such amazing and talented people always amazes me. And the way the fandom is always just switching up from ANGSTY to cute and adorable is just, I love it 😂😭
And the way you can portray just so much in such a “little” portion is just- Thank you so, so, so much for this masterpiece!!! ❤

i've watched this so many times and it's still mindblowing. the sequencing of the visuals the colours the movement the way you draw the anonymous crowds and hands in some of the bits. the "ooohhh" in the final chorus timing up with xie lian crying out. i could write a dissertation about this. it hits so hard. i'm trying to keep this comment brief so what i'm saying might make zero sense but GOD.
I've watching this so many times it's just that good. The story progression, the facial expressions, the interpretations of the lyrics, ah I love it so much.
This just makes me want to read the books more!
