THE DOG HEADS YESS! Also her bringing a Sailor to her "body" before the jaws snap shut and she is in the blood where she bathes. Just, agh she is Perfection here
Had to come back to this but you've managed to combine both Jorge's vision for Scylla with her mythology description. Literally, she is Perfect to me. Bravo
I really like the design of that sailor. His design gives off the vibe that he’s either in his early 20s or worse, still a teenager, which makes his death all the more terrifying. What makes it even worse is the way he’s almost struggling in Scylla’s grasp, and reaching out for help, and the way Scylla holds him just screams “I have you now my pretty.” All in all a great animatic.
Oh I love the little detail implying Ody saw Scylla and she saw him. However they did nothing, it’s like they gave each other knowing nod but they BOTH know what’s about to happen and they are both okay with it. UGH CHILLS I LOVE IT
@@mercuresis Okay so there is a lot of moments I kinda took it as Ody noticing Scylla. Around this 0:30 mark. Basically the whole part with Eury confessing he opened the bag. There is a specific moment where Ody is looking AT the water and Scylla is like playfully singing that moment is so that’s around like 0:51 I took it as Ody noticing her for the first time and that’s why Scylla starts getting playful and friendly because a monster recognizes another monster. That’s just how I took it at least
Ody was definitely ok with what was about to happen. In the og myth ody knew that Scylla had 6 mouths to scoop up her prey so he chose to go her way over the whirlpool monster that would destroy their ship and kill them all (sorry forgot it's name). In this animatic, when ody hears his confession of betraying his trust and ruining their way back home he then notices scylla. Notice that he orders for 6 torches, the same number as the mouths and how in the vid he leaves his friend to hold one of them. They are beacons to attract Scylla in this vid because She snapped up all of the torch holding offerings. He was almost prey before he dropped the torch and the guy next to him was taken instead because he was closer to the torch. Ody not only knew but in a split second he chose to offer his old friend up as meat as repayment for his betrayal that he had just confessed. In this vid he IS a monster and he knows it.
@@darabounds6671 The other monster is Charybdis, and it'll actually feature in a later saga! Basically, Charybdis and Scylla in the original myths live on opposite sides of the same narrow path; Jorge has decided instead to have them both feature at different times. Odysseus here hasn't necessarily 'decided' that Eurylochus should be the one to die - it is a popular fanon interpretation - only told him to light six torches. It was a matter of chance that he chose to hold onto the sixth. However, in the original Myth, _everyone_ knows that Scylla is the best option - and that men she takes are random. They're still not necessarily happy that six of them die, but everyone knows Charybdis is almost certain death.
odysseus horrorfied face when eurylochus confesses is just golden. and him getting so fucking serious when telling him to light the torches. man has had ENOUGH.
AGREED! I like to think that Ody was actually trying to think up a plan to get past Scylla (regardless what the Epic story tells us) but the _second_ Eurylochus confessed Odysseus was like “Ok I’m tired of being around these people. Plan: Sacrifice My Men it is”.
I love how your managed to have Scylla maintain some traits of when she was a nymph, such as the humanoid figure and feminine features. Also really enjoy how her 'six heads' look like dogs in accordance to other sources.
I love how she is acting in a manner reminiscent of Afrodite in reverse. She is beautiful and scary sitting in the jaws of the beast, just like Afrodite is lovely and beautiful sitting in the giant shell. Just like mythos portrays her as a beautiful woman with wolf heads. Love this so much

Every Scylla animation has a different type of Horror for the monster design. This one is terrifying in sheer scale. Every head was half the size of the boat
2:06 I don’t know how to fully describe it, but I really like this specific scene. Someone just straight up, smacks the torch from his hand and sacrifices themselves for him. Two weeks later, and I now know how to articulate my feelings on it. It’s both heartbreaking and beautiful. This one soldier knew what was happening and decided to save one life at the cost of his own. He knew he couldn’t save everyone, so he saved the voice of the crew.
I love how ody just seemed to stay quiet about Scylla being there then halfheartly warns the rest of the crew. Bro does not care about them, he looks so done with them.
I love how the community has been unanimous that Ody had him holding a torch, but someone else took the hit for him, either jumping in to save him or taking his torch.
@@grey8288true, I think that’s kind of how it went in the official livestream animatic too (or I think it was unintentional that someone else died). I love the interpretations where someone purposefully saves him though
This is def one of my favorite Scylla animatics. Her design, Ody's facial expressions, the different ways the men are taken by Scylla, especially when she, herself, grabs one. the blood down the side of Ody's nose, as if to represent tears. This is beautiful. Scylla reaching OVER Ody, because she recognizes like to like. Her design is beautiful and relatively lore accurate. Well done.
Not only does this animatic have my favorite scylla design, but it also really emphasizes what she's singing, that she and Odysseus are the same. there's so many shots of her and him and waouahoauh! i love it so much! THE SKULL TRANSITIONING TO EURYLOCHUS DURING "There's no price we won't pay" IS JUST. MWAH BRILLIANT (yours was also the first time i noticed she was specifically going after the torch bearers mostly because of Eurylochus dropping his causing another to die instead)
I also noticed one of the heads studying the ship, as if choosing which to go after (even more monsterous) and then deciding to go for the torches because it was easier pickings. I love the little details in this animatic
What a beautiful Scylla design! Are you showing off? You should be! I also love this moment 1:56 I love how it highlights that Odysseus is not a target and also is just a wonderful shot 🤩I love this song so much u have no idea
Am I the only one enthralled by the artstyle? It's minimalistic, but positivelty NAILS every detail needed to convey the story. Scylla leaving claw marks on the boat as it passes. The curls of Eur's hair. Everyone's stances and the way you've drawn the bodies looks so visually pleasing. The torch light playing off everything. All the ripples in the water. SCYLLA'S DESIGN, ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! LOOK AT HER! 1:41 where she's seems to be caressing the giant cavernous mouth carrying her around? Everything you've drawn has so much CHARACTER and LIFE!
WOAH! Her pulling the one guy in for a hug and then being covered in blood? That was SUCH a sick shot! just from that alone this is one of my favorite interpretations!

ok this is so good on so many levels but a detail i really liked is that most people only show Odysseus’s hair getting longer, not Eurylochus, but you actually did which i thought was very nice
OMFGG this is incredible!!!! Her hair is gorgeous, and the part where she dances with a skeleton is perfect! And the transformation and full form is the scariest I've seen so far! Also the monster Ody reflection at the end is amazing
okay i love this so much, one of my favorite scylla animations, but can we please talk about the little chibi ody and scylla help they're just chilling why is that so cute for no reason 😭
YES!! This is what I've been looking for. The animatic makes use of the song to show so much in so little time with epic bone chilling scenes that vividly portray the Scylla's mythical character and its monstrosity while showcasing a false personlike appearance that seems maliciously delighted with the situation that only adds on the creepiness of it all
I love this animatic. But there's one thing that puts it above and beyond the rest I've seen. The crew look like they've been stranded for years. It's a little detail, but it make a huge difference. The rag like clothing and unkempt hair. Beautiful.
I adore this! Scylla appearing whenever she sings, the way that she looks beautiful, but clearly deformed, then her giant frame with the wolf heads looking for a meal, and herself being the tongue of a large version of her head, just beautiful! Also the way she draged that guy, smiling while he was terrified, and then looked so happy while bathing in blood and singing "Die in the blood where you bathe", just so chilling!
oh. oh I am OBSESSED with this. scylla's design being a perfect blend between her dragon-y traits in homer and the dogs in mythos, the HEAD, the way reflection twists in the blood in the water.... this is incredible. edit: her little spin with the skull LMFAOO i love her
Bro, this is sick as hell! Scylla’s beauty hiding all that horror. And you even made her head look like the canine heads they’re supposed to be. Thank you for feeding my obsession with this musical
Finallyyyyyy, someone who not only uses the "Siren" as a lure in the central mouth *and* has the dog heads. I also generally love the framing, especially the shots as they are leaving, with the close-ups on Scylla. Outstanding work, top-tier, new favourite Scylla animation easily!
God this song is my top fave out of the sagas. Must be how Scylla’s voice is so hauntingly beautiful and scary at the same time lol. My fave part is how all these different animatics portray Scylla’s appearance, the crews actions, and Ody’s reaction to the “revelation”. Each and every one is so unique and creates different feelings everytime I watch them. GOD I LOVE EPIC!!!
Wow! Amazing! I think I have watched every Scylla animatic out there (I'm obsessed with this song) and I love your interpretation of the monster. She's just as terrifying and she should be! Also the overall art is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it!
Your art is so beautiful, and your design for Scylla is GORGEOUS. When Scylla revealed herself, my jaw dropped! Scylla is a terrifying beast. So terrifying seeing her grab the crew by the arm then devouring him, leaving her puppet body to be covered in blood. So incredible.
Ooooh I love the designs and DOG HEADS YESSS!!! The way she grabbed a sailor to her 'body' as the guy struggling just terrifying and I love the way they are just so huge they have to take turns snatching sailors. Also love the horrified expression on Odysseus face when he learns about the windbag as it basically hearing his best friend is why they suffered SO LONG. And it what pushes him to make Eurylochus to be one of the men to be sacrificed for this betrayal without saying it.
I love this scylla design. It reminds me of malenia, even her 'human form' is bigger than a human. She's beautiful in a monstrous, ethereal way, especially covered in blood.
OH!!!! you got me with the pretty lady in the big head. That caught me by surprise I LOVE THIS. She's kinda like evil aphrodite coming out the shell lol. Such a great design!! Then she PULLS A MAN TO HER BODY only to get CHOMPED. That's brilliant!!! And she pets the doggy in the end!! This is amazing. Especially odysseus seeing himself as the monster in the blood!! 😙👌🏽
The effects on the water, the cute dog heads, the dynamic posing, they're gorgeous. The absolute FEAST of pectoralis muscles are also gorgeous, but that's a given.
i love this one because it handles one of the problems i have with so many of the other animatics which is they dont actually show scylla all that much when shes singing even though this is literally scyllas song. you did an incredible job keeping her involved throughout the entire thing and STILL made the reveal of her complete form terrifying

Awesome Scylla Design. Good to see some actual dog heads. I've been clamoring for someone to draw that.
I was shocked that no one drew the dog heads 😭
@@VirusAP77 closest to it would have been one that drew the heads as moray eels. seems like a nice substitute.
@@VirusAP77Eurylochus looks like Guts from Berserk in this animatic.
I really love how Odysseus is portrayed here. Cold blooded, fully aware of what he is doing.
Tge impressions beat right into the heart.
And also the design for scylla is just marvelous
OMG THIS IS GORGEOUS!! Eurylochus killing a man unknowingly was so sad!!
Why is no one talking about how they made Eurylochus’ hair longer. I love this detail because it shows how unkept the crew has gotten over the years
When girls invite you to their room😅 2:16
Dark Joke 😂😂🤣
2:23 that shot though
So close to canon, but you added your own take on a few things. Love it. The water shot with Odysseus’ eyes, too
2:05 one of the crew mates takes the torch from Eurylochus, sacrificing himself willingly so Eurylochus makes it out to lead the mutiny. Cool detail
your depiction of scylla is by far my favorite out of all the ones i've seen. so hauntingly beautiful
I need everyone to understand, I when he opens the bag they were less than 200 miles away from Ithaca. You could SEE the island.
I saw someone make a tik tok going "they were this close to Ithaca when the bag was opened." And I stared in disbelief at how close they were
@@ryomahoshi4529 ME TOO, like I would’ve pushed Eurylochus into Scyllas waters MY SELF 😭imagine hearing your people cheer and welcome you home before getting it all snatched away
2:09 that face of true fear and panic realising this was planned... Damn
I absolutely love that Scylla dances with a skull! It’s so cute and shows her mischievous nature!
This is absolutely incredible. Your Scylla is AMAZING, I love her design and how UNHINGED you made her look!!! A lot of folks only go for just... creepy. This was /fantastic/.
ok this is so good on so many levels but a detail i really liked is that most people only show Odysseus’s hair getting longer, not Eurylochus, but you actually did which i thought was very nice
Also the way she draged that guy, smiling while he was terrified, and then looked so happy while bathing in blood and singing "Die in the blood where you bathe", just so chilling!
oh. oh I am OBSESSED with this. scylla's design being a perfect blend between her dragon-y traits in homer and the dogs in mythos, the HEAD, the way reflection twists in the blood in the water.... this is incredible.
edit: her little spin with the skull LMFAOO i love her
I love when Scylla first reveals her main head with its mouth open as it rises out of the water! It makes me think of her sister Charybdis
The scull being in the same place as eurylochus in the next moment was amazing at 0:58
2:34 love the fit ody
This is one of the best designs for scylla I have ever seen, you cooked
Scylla sinking below Ody's shadow... Like she's inside his mind. 1:01 Well played.
MY FAVORITE SCYLLA ANIMATIC! YEAH, YOU YOU PASSED GIGI WHO WAS MY FAVORITE, THIS DESIGN IS SPECTACULAR AHHHHH
I love the way Ody's eyes change from human to matching Scylla's so much!
This is my favorite scylla animatic. The details are AMAZING
I love the way Ody’s eyes switch from white irises and white scleras depending on how he’s feeling, its scrumptious 🫶🫶
2:21 this is definitely my favourite moment
The way Scylla attacks from behind Odysseus, going above him, as if he's commanding her... Chills
She’s the old lady from the SpongeBob movie 1:35
She feels like a cat playing with a mouse 🫨
Oh my god! You are the first one I've seen to really capture how dog-like Scyllas heads are supposed to be! Absolutely incredible
I love this scylla design. It reminds me of malenia, even her 'human form' is bigger than a human. She's beautiful in a monstrous, ethereal way, especially covered in blood.
The detail of both Scylla AND Ody being covered in blood after that massacre because both played a part in it is amazing. Thank you
OH!!!! you got me with the pretty lady in the big head. 😙👌🏽
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
The design
how the crew, eury and Ody look
How Scylla quite literally is bathing with their blood.
I LOVE THIS.
I'm addicted to this song. Honestly probably one of the 5 best songs this entire musical
The effects on the water, the cute dog heads, the dynamic posing, they're gorgeous.
The absolute FEAST of pectoralis muscles are also gorgeous, but that's a given.
just the fun and creativity in this, compared to the other versions, makes this my favorite scylla animatic! I have so much to learn from this
i love this one because it handles one of the problems i have with so many of the other animatics which is they dont actually show scylla all that much when shes singing even though this is literally scyllas song. you did an incredible job keeping her involved throughout the entire thing and STILL made the reveal of her complete form terrifying
I love that you made scylla's extra heads into actual dog heads, most people seem to forget that detail
This is one of the best Scylla and Eurylochus designs that I've seen yet! I love how you render Odysseus as well. You are seriously talented! Gorgeous animatic. Beautifully done!
Omg, this should be in the recommended searches, it's like the best one!! ❤️
This is hands down my new favourite animatic of this song
THE MAIN HEAD EATING SOMEONE?? THE TERROR IN HIS EYES?? SCYLLA’S ABSOLUTELY STUNNING DESIGN??? Spectacular, show-stopping, brilliant, every synonym. AMAZING
I just saw this animatic of Scylla and it's absolutely majestic! The design of the monster (with the body of a woman to 'lure' sailors), the style in general (really wonderful anatomy!) and the way you portraits everyone...I LOOOOOOOOVE IT!!! ❤❤❤
This is definitely my favorite for the way you capture the movement of Scylla and the mirroring of her and Odysseus throughout the whole video ugghhhhh beautiful!!!
FINALLY!! Some one animated the lack of surprise on Odysseus's face when scylla shows up!!! This is ABSOLUTELY now my favorite scylla animatic
FINALLY ONE WHERE EURYLOCHUS SHOWS SIGNS OF AGE. my man CANNOT keep on having a perfect buzz cut in every animatic of later sagas
also hear me out on scylla
The real tragedy of Scylla was losing the barber of the crew, that’s why Eury was so mad💔
ong real 💔 id mutiny too
THE BLOOD ON HIS HANDS??? BECAUSE HE KILLED THOSE MEN JUST AS MUCH AS SHE DID??? OH THIS EATS
