    Lovely video, you made me damn eager to take a turn with my T7.
    Unfortunately, we do not have that kind of wonderful routes near me in Gothenburg, Sweden.

    Looks great. I'm currently living in NZ and have have myself a little 250 dual sport to get used to off roading. When I'm back in the UK I'll most likely be getting a Tenere 700 and living near the Peak District again so good to see this.
    Since there's not many places you can go off road in the UK makes sense to get a middleweight ADV bike rather than a smaller dual sport, since they're shit on road tbh.

    I was brought up in New Zealand .and like our Auzzie neighbours .you can just fire off into the wilderness ,beaches ,tracks ,riverbeds etc .I now live in Scotland where you're the devil if you do that,Wales is the best place for motorbikes I think

    Another New bike John? The first byway you was on is near me and it’s called the roman road to locals. it’s normally full of dog walkers, you picked a good time, its a good lane to practice on though. What happened to the royal Enfield Himalayan ? Was it any good ?
    Great video .
    Cheers.Paul

    One thing about an adventure bike it keeps fit and an adventure bike has to be covered in mud otherwise you are not trying had enough. if you get caught somewhere where you should't be just say your sat-nav set you this way.

    Hi John, are you still running the factory tires, Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR? Are you liking them offroad?

    • @RegularJon
      @RegularJon  4 роки тому +1

      I've swapped the stock tyres out for Michelin Anakee Wild's! I like the standard tyres for the road and these Michelin's for mud!

    Hi. Great video of the Peaks lanes! You asked what could happen if you get stopped when riding on a restricted byeway or footpath or bridleway with a motorcycle. At worst you risk a fine and your motorcycle could be confiscated and destroyed if a member of the public stops you and takes a photo of the number plate and reports it to the police or a Park ranger. Therefore keep your number plate muddy as technically they are not allowed to wipe the mud away but you know what Ramb liars are like! If a police officer stops you and they do ride trail bikes in that area and other places too then they can take your number plate and potentially prosecute you and fine and take your bike away and have it destroyed aswell. As somebody else said join the TRF and they will help you and protect you also if you get stopped on a legal byeway (BOAT) as being a member they will defend your case and have a wealth of knowledge on legal rights of way. Other roads you can ride in most cases are Other Roads with Public Access (ORPA) or sometimes know as County Roads or Unclassified Roads (UCR's). As long as they appear on the County Council List of Streets they are public streets as the council are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep as they do for BOATS etc. As always in these things its not cut and dried and a word of warning is rider beware as its your responsibility if you ride a route and get caught on an illegal track/road/path. As the lawyers state Ignorance of the law is no defence in the law!

    • @RegularJon
      @RegularJon  4 роки тому

      Useful to know! I was out again today and had a similar conversation with a rider about the same things! Thanks for the info!
