I’m a total beginner to cutting felt and am thinking about buying the Cricut maker. I just need it for cutting puppet eyelids, eyebrows, pupils etc. I don’t need to cut anything much bigger than that.
Just watched you video and made my second project ever with my Cricut Maker (upgraded from the Explorer.) I needed to cut little felt antlers and used your guide and they turned out awesome! Thank you!!!
I'm so thankful for this DIY video! Thank you so much because I'm going nuts trying to cut the felts in the shape of arabesque shape for the Christmas tiles!
Can I ask what type of felt are you using? Are you using the regular felt squares or the cricut felt? Also when I cut felt on my maker it cuts into my mat.
Hey Lisa, it's from Design Bundles. I usually try to link them in the video description but I don't mind posting it for you here ❤️ Hope this helps! ---Becky designbundles.net/timetocraftshop/179107-easter-bunny-ears-hair-bow-template
You got it Jo! How about a tutorial on Infusible Ink in unexpected ways? That might be a good one. If you want to try this before the video is ready, you can just take the Infusible Ink sheet, line it up with white felt and press at the recommended time, usually around 400° for 60 seconds. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I've never used a Cricut before, but I'm considering purchasing one. I was wondering something, I know when I pull the price tag off of a piece of felt it snags and feays the felt really bad. How did you pull that up so easily off of the contact paper? Did it snag?
Hi question.... My cricut maker started cutting the felt then stopped and said for me to remove the material? Do u maybe have any idea what that was about?
For those with issues of the rotary blade cutting your mat, this is a known glitch that Cricut refusrs to address. If the default rotary pressure is too high so you change it to anything else, the pressure range changes to that of the fine point blade. The fine point blade pressure range is 0-350 but the rotary blade is 0-4000, with the default at 1883. Changing this by just 1, down to 1882, causes design space to glitch and set the new "acceptable" rotary blade range up to 350, making your new setting "out of range". So when you go to cut now, it just doesn't cut at all. It does this for any material that uses the rotary blade, not just felt. I've contacted Cricut several times in late 2021 and they've admitted they know this problem exists but customer service refused to commit to saying it's being worked on and should be fixed soon. So until then, we just need to accept that our mats will be damaged when using the rotary blade. If more people call customer service to complain, maybe that will expedite getting this issue fixed.
Hi, question: (Using Cricut maker 3) I used the pink mat, and rotary blade to cut felt (not cricut brand). For material options I chose “felt, acrylic fabric.” The first cut was on the default settings for blade pressure, but it cut into the mat. I changed the blade pressure to low and it still cut the mat. Any feedback? Thank you!!
Hi there! With Cricut, there are a few options for felt. The 'Felt' setting is the lowest pressure and cuts twice. The 'Felt, Wool Fabric' has more pressure and cuts five times! The 'Felt, Wool Bonded' has just a tad more pressure but only cuts two times. The 'felt' setting works well with the Cricut brand felt and stiff felt. - Dawn 😊
I am having trouble finding the right setting for my felt. My machine will not cut it on the "felt" settings with the rotary blade. The only setting I have been able to find so far that willl cut my felt is the "heavy denim" setting and this cuts my felt but also my mat. any suggestions? I have tried changing pressures ect.
I have a question about how to print and cut vinyl, can I use any vinyl? I just got a used silhouette cameo 1, bought some different vinyl, but don't want to waste products or ink . Thank u
Hey Marcia,b you do need specific printable vinyl and it's usually for inkjet printers. Look for Orajet for adhesive vinyl and Iron-on transfers for apparel. Hope this helps! ---Becky

What is that paper sheet with the print that you heat pressed onto the felt?!?! I’m in love!
Hey Kendra, it was a sublimation print, I cheated a little since I only had the white felt. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Loved the video 🌹
Glad you liked it!!
Another awesome video with a great tip about the transfer tape.
Thanks… 🎉… but what are you using for the sublimation paper? This part is new to me!!! Please and thanks!!!
Hi Vella! The design was sublimated onto the white felt using the sublimation. She gets to that part about 7:30 minutes into the video - Dawn 🙂
How many times can you reuse the transfer tape to make additional cuts? I need to make 180 felt Voodoo dolls.
You can reuse it quite a bit you may net to replace maybe 3 times
Thank you! Love your videos!

I would check that your blade is in properly, also, what settings are you cutting at?
@@DesignBundles I'm cutting on the felt setting.
@@chibifigures5430 Are you using the rotary blade?
@@DesignBundles yes. I've tried 2 different housings and blades
I love the way you hype yourself up. 😂😂😂 Can I use hem tape instead of the hot glue gun?
You could do, or a double sided tape 🙂
Great teacher!!!
Thank you! 😊
Lovely video thanks xx

I'm not sure check your blade is spinning properly it can get clogged with fibers if it continues contact Cricut

I used my rotary blade to cut felt w a sticky backing. How do I clean the blade?
You can soak your blades in hot soapy water and then gently remove the residue.
What did you sublimate the felt with? (What kind of paper?)
Sublimation paper. 😊
Not sure why my rotary blade cut into my fabric mat under the default felt setting. Any suggestions?

Amazon ❤️ Hope this helps! ---Becky
Does it matter what kind of felt? My cricut maker didn’t cut it 🥲
There is different settings for several felt on design space but try adding more pressure
Is this machine capable drawing on stiff felt?

@@DesignBundles my wife does beading and uses stiff felt for backing. I'm wondering if this can draw a pattern on the felt. Thanks for you response.
