At a depth of 750 metres, a Blue Planet II submarine was shoved by some enormous sixgill sharks.
The team were tracking a dead sperm whale that had floated onto the Atlantic Ocean seabed.

He must have felt like me when the treat is stuck in the vending machine
LoL! I knew I recognized the sound! It sounds exactly like me pounding the glass on the vending machine when the chocolate cupcake package gets caught in the spiral and won’t drop. Poor shark! It’s so frustrating!

That gave me chills. I can’t imagine being in a claustrophobic submarine, that far down in the ocean with giant sharks bashing me around. Nightmare fuel 😨😨😨😨
I seriously fail to see how sharks attacking the sub effects anyone
Since the sun won’t break lol
Tbh I would love to be on that sub, it would be so cool
Lmao what do you mean, a shark can't do anything to it, it's just checking it out anyway. Not really attacking it or anything.
Exactly. Any of these factors would be enough for me to faint. Props to those saving the wildlife.
A sub can't be afraid of tight places.
@@Kpaxlol Sub windows are designed for gradual application of pressure and forces, not a ton of flesh impacting into it. You would be pissing yourself in that sub IRL.
When the blood came out of the sharks gills.....
Makes sense but it was really cool anyway
Yeah it’s just what it does, like how a shark rolls it’s eyes into the back of its head so it doesn’t get any waste in its eyes, I love sharks, they’re so fascinating.
@@freshpeanut4967 thats really interesting , can you tell me why did they do it while bumping the sub?
Anibal Matheus G I’m not an expert, but I’d assume when they put pressure on their faces, the blood is pushed out of their gills. It’s either that, or it’s just blood being exhaled after it got caught while the shark was sucking water in.
@@freshpeanut4967 no no , I meant why did eyes rolled up when they bumped the sub.

I love some of those perspective shots that show the scale of the sub vs the sharks. We often don’t realize how big a 6 meter shark is from behind a phone screen. It just doesn’t do it justice.
OMG, I wouldn't get in a submarine in the first place, but diving this deep and then encountering aggressive sharks? I would die of fear.
Incredible footage, love the way they attack the sub thinking it is competition.

@PhreshFunk funny how some embrace the spin and others see right through it.
Thank you i missed that bit
attacked or bumped into
That dust cloud revealing the shark and then the carcass was so cinematic, it instantly reminded me of The Temple by H.P. Lovecraft. Amazing footage.
"I am little bit afraid" is probably the last thing I want to hear someone say, when we are 750 metres under water, surrounded by huge sharks!
Its interesting to see the deeper you go the more slowly the animals move. Even when the sharks need to snap their neck back and forth to tear the meat, it seems like they are doing it much slower than their friends up top...
they do it i'm guessing to conserve energy as food is hard to come by in such deep waters
@@joshuahandhand8959 That and other reason is pressure. Injuries are common if fish experiences rapid changes in pressure. If you have ever jumped in deep water and heard your ears pop that was because of pressure. Go too fast under the water and your ears may become injured and not just pop. Same for these sharks. While they are adjusted to the pressure if they move too fast their organs could become injured.
I feel like the weight of the water slows them down. Even on the surface you can’t move as fast underwater as you can on land.
@@flowerfaerie8931 The pressure is greater in deep water but deep water doesn't directly affect the movement of fish, submarines etc any differently than shallow water.
@@TheSanezu That's NOT at all how water pressure works at all, the pressure increases from depth, not how quickly you move, that makes zero sense. They very much do move slower because of the extreme pressures the lower you go, but that's a function of the pressure itself, not avoiding injury.
The guy:I'm a little bit afraid
Inner him:Oh shittt we gonna die
Agreed 😳😐😳
I love footage like this because we all know what’s going on in the world and we hear of things in space but not in our ocean I want to see more people discovering places and things like this.
We don’t actually know what’s going on in space but we do know what they lead us to believe. Imagine making a cellular call back in the sixties tech and now imagine flying to the moon with it. Lol 😂
I totally agree with you though. We need to see more of what’s here on earth which I believe is actually far more fascinating and revealing.
Except at 750 meters down 1 wrong thing happens wich is very likely to you will simply not make it back up your either gonna explode drown or get eaten
Did you see the news lately? 😂
This didn’t age well. We know enough. Let’s focus on more shallow waters.
What’s more frightening is that they’re swimming and looking for food in total darkness
That's the definition of a Monster.

This is terrifying. Thank goodness the sub withstood the impacts.
This is one of my favourite behind the scenes events ever. Imagine being inside that sub when not one but FOUR TWENTY FOOT LONG, SIX TO EIGHT FEET WIDE Sharks are in a feeding frenzy (all be it a slow one) just outside your window!! Then they BANG on the glass😱 750km from the surface! Here’s a trick I like to use when watching any nature show for myself and now my kids.
Take a tape measure, always have one handy - or know the dimensions of your rooms and actually walk out 20’. It puts things into perspective when you start to feel flippant about the guys in shark cages or wrangling crocodiles! It’s especially awesome when you go outside and mark out just how big a Blue Whale is. Seeing the ACTUAL dimensions as opposed to just hearing numbers or pictures of little men or buses next to an animal in a diagram.
750 kilometres?!?

For all those people talking about ‘sound effects’ I don’t think you understand the danger and concept of being 2300 feet underwater in a steel can when a half dozen Sharks the same length as your sub start banging into it!!
If the glass cracks, just a little, the whole sub would depressurize and they would die.

@The main cause of warps in all of reality , brain (for you) please?
What an incredible sight! This shows just how important sharks are to the ocean ecosystem, they help get rid of the dead carcasses and contribute to the overall health of the ocean :)
*A dead carcass would completely decompose anyway, plus other animals would feed on them if sharks were not there. Try again…. What do sharks actually contribute….?*
@@strongestnattyever-videos2247 Um, they look cool of course. Do we need another reason?? 😂🤣
@@pat7917 that is scientifically it lol. There is nothing that sharks contribute to the world.
@@strongestnattyever-videos2247 I'm sorry to say, but this is a *VERY* ignorant take on sharks...
Shark populations around the world contribute in many different ways to their respective ecosystems...as apex predators sharks like great whites influence where and how seal populations feed and where they live, preventing seal overpopulation, and also fish populations from declining as they move the seal populations around. They also control the populations of rays which if left unchecked would soar, resulting in shellfish population collapse...all of which would have a knock-on effect for the ocean life below them in the hierarchy...it's a ripple effect. Sharks, whether you like them or not, are more important to the planet than you or me 😅
@@strongestnattyever-videos2247
What an utterly ignorant comment.
- Fish-hunting sharks weed out weak and sick individuals, ensuring that the fish population remains healthy and at a size that the habitat's resources can support.
- Sharks also play a role in regulating oxygen production in the ocean, by feeding on fish that devour oxygen-generating plankton
- sharks are crucial for overall biodiversity and ecosystem health in our coral reefs by maintaining balance in the populations of small fish species
- and, like the original comment pointed out, they keep our oceans clean. Consuming decomposing flesh rather than simply letting it decompose maintains oxygen levels in the water. Sharks are scavengers, it’s their job to clean up these messes. Other fish may nibble here and there but if shark populations were gone, our oceans would be disgusting.
I would pose a question to you “what do _humans_ actually contribute to the ecosystem?”
those Roar dude are amazing
"I'm a little bit afraid" What'd he think was going to be down at a _whale carcass?_ A bunch of fairies & unicorns?
“Estimate the Sharks to be 6 meters long” ... 6 m = 19 ft 8.22 inches !!!
lorenkrug these type of sharks live long lives so they’re usually very big when they’re full adults. They aren’t as fast/explosive as some of the more popular ones, but are very big.
