This is what tv shows used to be. Feel good family friendly shows. You would sing and dance along to release your stress.
Absolutely! I miss tv variety shows. Doesn't Linda & Cher look & sing gorgeous together?!
Couldn't have said it any better! 💯☝️🔥🎼Use to watch these shows on our black and white TV 📺with no remote or cable! The GOOD OLD DAYS! 💞
Battle of beauties titans woman of 1970s
It gave a GREAT MEMORABLE balance to life
Truth Indeed AMEN
As a '70s teen I would listen to Cher, Linda, Carly, Barbra, Bette, Diana, Olivia, and more on the radio. None of these women sounded remotely like the other. They got radio play through most of the '80s. Who can you say that about today?
And they didn’t need to use Auto-tune !
Absolutely No One !
don't forget the Queen: Donna Summer
@@MAAivoges LOVED HER!!!
Truth Indeed
Linda Ronstadt made very few television appearances throughout her career. This was magical to watch.
She did a good deal of tv appearances early on but few like this. After like ‘76-77 it was straight performances like on Don Kirshners Rock Concert or the Midnight Special
Great documentary about Linda on HBOMAX.
@@jennifersman7990 I recall her being on Glen Campbell and Johnny Cash early on... but once she made it really big, less appearances. At this point, this was a special appearance...
Whyyyyy
According to TV Guide history: Linda Ronstadt made 21 TV appearances during her career. Her first appearance on TV was in 1969 on Hugh Hefner’s “Playboy after dark” where she sang, “Walkin’ down the line”
Ronstadt had the best pipes on the planet. She loved to sing with a band - not this silly TV shtick - but she's a good sport here - all gussied up. They do seem to be having fun.
Never knew these two legends ever performed together.
Too bad Linda and Cher didn't perform more duets than just these two songs.
They really do sound great together. Who knew!
Cher worked with so many great performers on The Sonny & Cher show & when she had her own show. Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Bette Midler ... the list goes on & on.
Chers voice woww
@@jazznpercy and the beat goes on and on...
Jesus Christ, Drift away with Cher taking the low while Linda takes the high was so perfect. Cher's voice is so wonderfully full, and then you add that sweet high and the show's over man.
There is NOTHING like this in 2022 and hasnt been for a looooong time
You got that right ✅️
Linda and Cher together is so special. Two goddesses. Linda is so incredible. Greatest video on UA-cam.
smiled through this whole thing. what a classic pairing. they'll never be an era in tv like this again.
Truth Indeed AMEN 🙏
Never EVER!
And we were so lucky to experienced it
Mercy! Always loved them both. Cher actually holds her own with Rondstadt here! Fantastic!
Cher is a great alto and paired with the great soprano you got a great duet.
tbh, Cher is doing the easy part of singing the melody, while Linda is singing the more complicated harmony parts.
@@Fredman2410 Linda R...singer extrordinaire!!
I was just thinking how good Linda did holding her own with Cher. Both ladies are iconic singers
I remember this... Cher could Always sing with Everyone and it sounded absolutely wonderful!! Blessings!
Linda also has an incredible ability to make music with other singers and is featured on numerous albums. They were a dynamic pairing. Wish they had done more together
These TV variety shows and the glitz ain't Linda's bag. Yet she's a trooper and a good sport. Two very different musical travellers - Ronstadt's pipes were glorious and flexible. Cher is always a performer. They both made it out alive.
You either love Linda Randstad or don't know who she is. She's as close to perfect as one can get.
Their voices surprisingly complement each other's quite well. Excellent drag show material.
drag show was funny in the `80
You know what I'm realizing? All those imitations of Cher are spot on... they're not an exaggeration like I always assumed. She really does do all those quirks with her hands and her tongue, ect. I love it! What an icon! :D
Linda Ronstadt a True music ICON!!! 🎵
CHER! A Master Class! OMG how did you get Linda in that poodle wig & chiffon gown. When LR sings "Thanks for the joy you've given me" she looks just like her pouty baby pictures. Cher you 2 are such badasses. This number is fantastic.
That's a good one ,they would call her a lindadoodle today😜
I was thinking the same thing. So not like Linda's style.
@@evanmitton5007 lol
❤️ of pretty woman Beauty titan of 1970s
Ditto. The wig was not flattering. I love my hometown girl Linda.
Didn't realize just how much I MISSED THAT TIME--period!!! The tunes and those who sang them.
This is what talent looks like!
& sounds like too !
The good old days 😢
Almost all sound same nowadays
I love Linda! Her backup band became the Eagles (my favorite)
No AutoTone needed. This is musical talent. ❤
This is one my fav performances from this show posted so far!! This is so amazing and they sound fabulous together!!!
Linda could harmonize with anyone.
2 amazing legends of the music world cher + legendary Linda ronstadt both excellent singers with awesome vocals and fantastic voices simply the best singers ever 🎤❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎤🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
They were my favorite singers in the 70s . . . I also liked 3 Dog Night, Rufus w/ Chaka Khan, Harry Nilsson, & Cass Elliot.
The Queen of Rock and somebody called Cher.
😂❤
Nothing rock about Linda
I like how Cher knows how to blend with other performers. So gracious.
🧔 Cher & Linda Ronstadt are a amazing vocal duo. Cher can sing harmonies with just about anyone. Cher will always be my number 1 singer of all time. Cher is also my favorite woman of all time. Long live the legend the icon queen Cher. 🌻✌☮✡🐳
only thing is that Linda sang ALL the harmony vocals
@@a2kmike that is what I was thinking too!!
@@a2kmike Precisely. Lol. I don’t think Cher could sing harmony if her life depended on it . Meanwhile , Linda can sing anything , including perfect pitch harmony. Just listen to any of her albums with Dolly and Emmy Lou for example. Singing harmony well is the true measure of a good singer.
Linda was the best female rocker. She could shake the rafters.
A masterclass duet !!
Yes, & they both look great .Cher really didn't need to mess around with her face later on .
I really appreciate that these two legends are still alive ! Bob Mackie created classic gowns that are timeless….I appreciate that he is still alive too !
What a treat, and how unusual, to see Linda Ronstadt on a variety show in the 70s! If I recall, she was more likely to appear on shows such as Midnight Special, or Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. One of my best memories was seeing her in 1975 at Anaheim Stadium with the Eagles, Jackson Browne and Toots & the Maytels. What a show! Linda is definitely my all-time favorite singer.
Perfect song for Cher's voice!
So fun, so authentic, and so classy!
Two of my favorite singers from the 70s.....PERIOD! I really wish they would have done a duet, their voices blend together beautifully.💜
Omg I can’t believe I never saw this!!!!! Linda is one of my idols!
I grew up on these variety shows. Linda and Olivia were my favorite singers. I taped everything I saw on TV on my cassette player recorder. Then later on my VCR. So glad we can find everything on UA-cam now .
By far, Cher's most talented backup singer, EVER! Just saying, and I LOVE Linda!
Cher was definitely putting it all in to keep up with Linda’s powerful voice.
other way around lol
@@BShreve not even! I love Cher, but Linda had some amazing vocal strength, and you can even see here how Cher is trying to belt it out like her, but just can’t. Two diff styles is all.
Both have/had powerful voices plus harmonize beautifully together. One great soprano and one fantastic altoist.
I thought Linda was holding back during the "drift away" chorus.
I couldn't keep my eyes off Cher
I loved watching the Cher show, it was so much fun to watch. ❤️
Cher's music is always Reminiscing wonderful great Times 🥳🎉💕🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈😀🎶
Two Legends ❤👍
These extremely talented ladies made an excellent song even better.
Linda looks a reserved. Don't want to out sing Cher! Even though she could, i always loved her vocals.
DUDE!!!!! The two greatest voices of their generation. Awesome. Simply freakin' awesome
Would love a duet of Cher and Dolly in Dollys upcoming Rock album!
I haven't seen this since the night it aired, yet my memory of this is so vivid.
WOW... 🤩 What an AMAZING performance!!! 🎤✨ And my Queen Cher looks and sounds so fabulous! 👑💖🤟🏻♾
The still loves ❤️ of my childhood, so beautiful with immense talent, bless them both dear cher and linda.
Linda...a legend.
"Incredible!" adore both of them to sing like would've happen to cher been so popular in 1960's awhile linda started singing in 1967.
Two of my favorites singers just fantastic what a blessing
Cher always perfect .... Love ❤️
Two of the greatest singers ever. Wish we could see them together again singing with their beautiful voices in perfect harmony.
I miss the 70s. I was a small child then but I loved the music!! The variety shows were so fun to watch. This was so great to watch. Two beautiful and talented women. ❤️
I never miss a Sonny & Cher shows a kid, probably saw this one too.
Cher sounds incredible!!!! They sound brilliant together!!
Watched with the whole family. Just music no gimmick no nothing. Original rocker chick Linda Ronstadt. Great live.
Two great Super Stars! Love you Both.
Linda Ronstadt!
Cher sings with such ease
Great Ladys, great Songs, GREAT TIMES !!!😍
As a '70s teen these two were amongst many female artists I admired the most. Were they actually sang no auto tune and they had bands not a computer. It's no wonder so many teens of today listen to our music of the '70s and '80s
OMG! 2 of the greatest female voices ever and together!
Oh my goodness Cher and Linda? Absolutely priceless!
I love these two ladies, beautiful talented just awesome ❤️❤️❤️😊✝️🙏✌️😎
I'm excited, countdown for ✨ This pure DUO musical 🎶 Expression by These two Amazing celebrity queen's 💃💃🎉🥳💐❤️

Cher is fantastic ❤🇮🇹
So great. 💪champs.
Their voices blend really well together.
DISCO DISCO DISCO!!! 70s 80s! You know, you are CHER! You do DISCO!!
I used to luv the " Sonny n Cher " show , beside Cher's unique voice beauty and talent What stood out most to me was her honesty which I believe has taken as far as she is today ! I wish her great health n happiness 🙂
This is fabulous. Had the “pleasure” of meeting LR many years ago at a function. The rudest person I have ever met. However, a very good singer.
Maybe she was SICK 😷
So beautiful, on all levels.
What a treat.Linda sure could sing.
Exellent duet❤🎸✨
Seen Linda twice in concert years ago and she was one of the best vocals I ever heard live! Amazing Voice!!
This is so lovely to watch....no diva's here just 2 beautiful talented women singing their hearts out....thats entertainment❤❤
