I'm weeping.....I just wish I could invade her personal space enough to give her a HUGE hug and thank her for a lifetime of incredible music and inspiration and example. I just love this woman and I pray for her every day. Love you, Linda...and my voice teachers over the years always had me sing your songs because I can sing in your range, thanks to you! I'm 60 now and I know that in my life there will NEVER be another singer that has influenced me as much, or that I appreciate as much. LoveLoveLove, Liz

So humbling watching this. Today's generation would see an old lady while the rest of us see a legendary voice and gorgeous lady of the 70's & 80's. Willie Nelson said, "There are two kinds of men in this world, those who have a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who haven't heard of her"

@virginiamccarter6638~~Hi there~~I'm 69 and I have been a fan of Linda since day 1~~I will never get tired of listening to all of her music~~Best female artist ever~~Kelly Clarkson and Pink and Adele are also my faves today~~But there's only one Linda~~I seen her in concert in Syracuse N.Y, back in the early 80's~~Willie Nelson, Emmy Lou Harris and The Stray Cats were part of that concert as well~~I took my Ma because she never went anywhere and she was blown away~~She loved Linda as much as I did and then she realized why I adored her so much~~The whole concert was great considering the fact I only wanted to see Linda~~My Ma had a great time too~~My heart breaks for Linda and I still pray for her~~Glad you got to see her as well~~Happy New Year~~💖💖💖💖💖~~

If there was a finer woman voice of the rock era , I have yet to hear it ! Linda's range is quite astonishing . To go from the high powered singing voice to the lowest bass in a matter of seconds with the most natural ease possible ,is in my book unprecedented.... This wonderful lady and her sensational Bands over the decades have lit up a huge part of my musical enjoyment . We rarely see talent of the calibre of Linda Ronstadt these days unfortunately . I'm a huge fanboy and from Scotland.

How could anyone not appreciate and care for this lovely human? I saw Linda sing in a smallish venue in Boston in the 70's. She was opening for Jackson Browne. They were taking turns opening for one another on the tour! It remains the best concert I have ever seen. Decades later I do not live too far from her childhood's Tuscon area. Her humane way and strong wish for us as people to do the right thing is her music now, to our ears...

4:45 4:47 I have wanted to comment so many times but everyone else is saying what I want to say, how solid Linda is in spite of changes beyond what she could control. She cannot sing because of illness but no one forgets that gorgeous voice. Others might complain but not Linda. she can hear her singing in dreams. she has the rare ability to keep moving forward, using what is left. Linda and I are both artists, and the same age. Would I be thta brave if I lost my eyes? I would try, because I am so inspired by her strength.

Linda conveys as much sincerity in her words as she managed to convey in her songs. Emotions that only those who give themselves to what they believe in can transmit. The truth of someone who undresses in front of an audience that looks at a single person and seems not to believe what they see, but leaves happy with what they saw.

Linda is my hero, my blue print, my mentor. She always has been and always will be.
When I feel, in certain moments, that I am judged for being wholesome, the good girl instead of a "bad bitch", or too nice, I think of Linda.
She stood out in the rock world as a mega talented, deep, intelligent, and wholesome (but not prudish), beautiful, woman.

The Saguaro cactus, birds and other animals there are so beautiful and magical. Such intelligence as well as being gifted that she has. We should respect nature, and others! My first introduction to great songwriters was through her, and love reading the stories of her childhood, riding ponies in the desert. We must not build fencing in wild lands. We must not murder anyone over a border that is not even real, and not even ours.

Love this book and Cd. I made my own DVD version with whatever I could find on UA-cam to match the CD. Some I had to use ones with photos and one with a montage from a movie using a song. I'm so glad I made myself try to get into the Festival of Books and though was in the back, was able to get in and hear the talk with Linda and Lawrence Downes. I had a Framed Lola Beltran album cover I brought and gave to Mr Downes hoping he could get it to Linda. The cover I acquired from PDQ records where I worked for years. Did not want to throw it away though no vinyl inside. Yay for this interview!

Few recording artists know the inside and outs of the music industry of the 1970's-1980's like Linda does. Aside from being one of the best female singers of all time, she discovered and worked with more exceptional musicians than most. She was not a song writer. She didn't play an instrument. Yet, umpteen musicians wanted to work with her because when she covered a great song, she made it her own. She saw talent where talent really existed. Think of the late great Warren Zevon for example. The songs Linda covered over the years are clear indicators of her great taste and awareness of musicians and their music. Her cover of The Rolling Stones and LIttle Feat songs for example, are some of the best covers of those tracks. She never had to rely on her looks, although she could have, just her ability to be a hit maker and have that phenomenal voice. She is very well loved in the music industry.

Linda not only plays the guitar she DID write a song w/her Father, Gilbert Ronstadt & Kenny Edwards! The song "Lo Siento Mi Vida" on her "Hasten Down the Wind" album! The song is beautiful & reaches your innermost soul! Still one of my very favorites on my fav album of hers! Saw her first @ Greek Theater in Hollyweird in August 1970! Received her "Hand Sown... Home Grown" album for Christmas that year! In June 1972 took that same album cover to Knott's Berry Farm to see her again! Richie, her drummer @ the time took to her for me & she signed it! Don't think I drove home that night, must've floated, in Heaven! Been a fan, maybe a full-blown "air conditioner" since then! My email even hails my LOVE for her! She's a Musical Chameleon & THE BEST FEMALE SINGER EVER, HANDS DOWN! ❤❤❤ ✌️🤘

I was so thrilled when I found out was to appear at the Beacon Theatre, a few blocks from my apartment. It was my birthday so I splurged on a front row seat. She comes out, looks at the audience and says how great it is perform in the Upper West Side of Manhattan as it means there are no Republicans in the audience. I got up, walked out of the isle as loud as I could and went to the box office and demanded a refund.

If for no other reason she is beloved for pronouncing Mr. Armstrong's name correctly.
He called himself Louis, not Looey.

The comments condemning Linda for being a liberal, an atheist, or for looking so old are shockingly cruel and ignorant. Some people commented that she deserved to lose her voice, and that God took her voice away for a reason. I don’t believe in hell, but if I did, there’s a special place in hell for people who would say such extraordinarily cruel things about a beautiful artist who is living life with tremendous dignity while battling a dreadful terminal illness. She embodies such confidence, strength and compassion. If she read those awful comments she’d probably just laugh them off. I’m sure that dealing with stupid, mean and ignorant people is nothing new for her. She possesses a core of dignity and strength that you can never touch, no matter how much you try to tear her down. And picking on someone who is dying of Parkinson’s? Classy.

I think she looks pretty darn cute for a woman in her late 70's and with health problems. An amazing woman.

I've got to get up-to-speed on Linda Rondstad's music. I've listened to a lot of Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, who came later. There's nothing like a great feminine voice. Moreover, I'm fortunate to live in Tucson and Southern Arizona, where the celebrated musician grew up.

Lindas Christmas album is two fold. She has some popular Christmas songs and then some very old English traditional ones. She says its not very good but she's modest.
