Today we are working on a 2007 Chevy Silverado. It's been abandoned and forgotten for several years and is in need of some severe TLC. Lets see if we can bring it back to life! This truck has it all. Gross interior, mold, mildew, rodents, rust. It's the gift that keeps on giving. How much money can we make off this flip?
You need to get a old school manual battery charger . That battery could have been saved but the newer smart chargers won't charge them if the voltage is to low .
I looked for one and came up empty. I've been keeping an eye on local estate auctions though. I'll find one eventually. Thanks for watching!
@@MyLegacyGarageYou can also stick a set of jumper cables on a working battery. Then charge it from there.
@@MyLegacyGarage here is a secret how to get the newer chargers to jumpstart a low-voltage battery. He put jumper cables on it from a good battery. Hook up the charger, it will read the voltage from the good battery and start charging. Do that for a little while and you can pull the jumper cables I’ll just keep going.
Take the good battery out while the truck is running and put the original battery in the truck while it’s running
@@sccarguy8242 it also sometimes works, if you put them in a row behind each other. Be careful about how to wire it (obviously), but that helps to fool the smart chargers.
That truck was very low miles and around my area would have sold for $6,500 easily.
You consider coming up on 200,000 very low miles?
I think it was a fair deal for what it was. Thanks for watching!
I guess everyone looks at it different? Thanks for watching!
@@quinncox8923Yes it's a truck. That thing is barely broken in for a work truck. Have you seen the price of trucks now days. This is a deal.
6500 is absurd for that old rusty chevy with high miles...your either lying or people are low iq in your area
Nice job man. The reason the seats looked worse after you cleaned them is the initial extraction brings all the deep stains to the surface. It takes agitation, heat and chemical extraction to get them fully cleaned but those looked salvageable. I’d also consider some basic black carpet dye aerosol to get those bleach stains dyed again. Same deal with the battery, as others have said an old school boiler could have saved it I bet. You’re also selling your rocker repair short, it looked great!
The deciding factor really was the driver side foam was beat and it had several burn holes in it. Covers seemed easier. 🤣 Rockers came out ok, but I'm a perfectionist when I do stuff like that and the skill isn't there for perfect so it irritates me. 🙄 Thanks for watching!
Rockers looked good man
Thanks for answering my question about the buyers rear axle issue. Please continue to show the reality of reviving these vehicles, especially showing the time and costs involved. Your real world coverage shows realistically what is required as compared to full time You Tubers, even though they are helpful with regards how things work and how to test/fix. Although may be beneficial searching out those that do not have fully equipped/fitted garages. Regards from across the Atlantic
No problem. Appreciate the support!
I love the look of those early 2000’s to 2010’s chevys. They still look modern and i think are decently built enough to last with maintenance.
Agreed. Better looking than the new ones for sure. Can't hold a candle to my beloved square bodies though. Thanks for watching!
A quick tip for saving the dead battery’s, put the dead battery in the car and jump start the car let it run for 10 minutes or so to get a little power into it then take it out and put on a smart charger, saved one the other day that was literally so dead I could put the terminals on the wrong way. The charger will now detect it since it has a little power.
I'll be sure to give it a shot next time I come across one that might be salvageable. Thanks for watching!
I've been doing some of the same stuff on my channel and I found that super clean and pressure washing the seats can be a real game changer on appearance, in Colorado we dont rust too bad but we get stuff dirty, i have also removed the carpet and laid it over my fence and pressure washing it as well, that will help get out the HUMAN SLIME.
Human slime! 🤣 That's hilarious! Thanks for watching!
if its too old to accept a charge, you can connect a good battery to the dead battery and then charge both of them with the charger. it will begin to charge the old battery and may bring it back from the dead.
That's a good suggestion. Thanks for watching!
I can confirm this. Do it all the time. Connect the 2 batteries together until it gets a couple volts, then unplug the good battery and plug in the charger.
Came here to say this, glad a lot of folks already commented it ;)
Came here to say the same, glad a lot folks noticed and commented already.
Walmart for battery’s. $65 bucks. Oil sensor was likely fine. Pull the screen out from under the sensor and clean it. Around here that’s a $5000 truck all day.
The screen was plugged. I destroyed it getting it out with a pick though. Luckily the new sensor came with one so problem solved. Thanks for watching!
@ you don’t actually need to put it back. The screen is like 8 bucks. A new sensor is rarely necessary. Also when they do this it’s a sign that the cam is starting to get ate up because of the afm.
5000 for that 😂😂😂???
@@tcanthony2classic chevy quality. 99 to 02 are the only good ones
Anybody else catch that rolled up dollar bill when he removed the driver side seat? @ 13:01 ...previous owner was hoovering some schneef for sure!
There was more than 1..... 😬 Thanks for watching!
That truck just as you fixed it, is worth thousands of dollars in Costa Rica 😮😮😮
Cost thousands to get it there though. Thanks for watching!
love these kind of videos! the kind of stuff I enjoy, seeing the value in something that someone else has given up on. just a tip for smelly interiors lightly pressure wash the seats while they are out or better yet remove the covers and wash them and let dry completely before reinstalling. after reassembling interior pur an open bag of charcoal behind the seats and leave it untill the smell goes away(usually a few weeks) have fun!!
Great Job on those rockers. Looks factory new.
I dunno about that but it's much nicer than it was for sure. Thanks for watching!
My kinda channel. Take that battery to your local Napa and see if they will charge it so you will have a battery ready for the next car. Or they may just swap it out and give you a brand new one. It’s worth a try.
I look forward to seeing what your channel offers.
The weak point on these trucks is the 4L60E. Is it a 4.3 or 4.8? If you have the 5.3 by rare chance, the cylinder deactivation is the worst part of these trucks. Worse than the 4L60E , the cylinder deactivation wipes out cam lobes.
Also, Tuff Stuff is the best I have found to clean and smells good, not like a cleaner.
Greetings from GA
Soft brush on a Power Drill, and a shampoo machine will get the carpet and seats just for future reference as I see you used seat covers. That drill brush works wonders.
It was the 5.3 engine. Only issue with the engine was that miserable pilot pressure sensor. What a nightmare to change. I'll look into Tuff Stuff. Thanks for watching!
The real issue was the burn holes in the drivers seat. Covers seemed easier.
Love flipping cars, Great video! I may or may not have watched this at work. Don't tell my boss. lol
Your secrets safe with me. Thanks for getting paid to watch!
a drill brush and a good quality upholstery cleaner, such as one from Chemical Guys, followed by a few passes with an extractor. That really works wonders on most upholstery stains. The extractor is a bit of an investment, but it will last you a long time and really helps spiff up interiors and remove smells.
Thanks for the tip!
My charger is thr same way. I truck it and hook cables to a hot battery to the dead battery then hook charger to the dead battery. Once u get the charger goin u can unhook the hot battery
First video I watched of yours. I like that you show the cost and selling of it. You did a great job on the rockers! Looked great from my house lol. I too like to gamble with vehicles, better than Vegas and can do burnouts with them 😊
I don't always do the cost breakdown but figured this was a good one since it needed minimal work and was strictly a flip. Burn outs do rock! Thanks for watching!
Believe it or not they do sell carpet paint which works very well and does not smell. Most people just use it for touch ups and you can't tell where they use it. When I purchased my 1992 Silverado new the dealer offered lifetime rustproofing guaranteeing the body and frame will not rust so I purchased the option . You have to bring in your vehicle every two years to have the body checked for the beginning of rust to keep thew lifetime warranty good. Now the truck is thirty two years old and rust free. I knew I was going to keep this truck a longtime. The dealer bet it would probably be traded in or sold before it started to rust. Still looks new and runs great. So far the only thing I paid for is to have the transmission oil changed every few years and I do the oil change myself and only use synthetic oil. That truck body you are working on is the worst years for early rusting.
Nice. Always good to get one over on the man. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
Except for rust, a sceptic of your story would say, "Wow, the exterior cleaned up just like it looked a month before you washed it.".
Lol yeah the rust repair was the only real exterior improvement for sure. Thanks for watching!
An actual faberic cleaner and aggitation brushes on amazon for like 20$, with a higher powered shampooer will make all the difference. I understand youre not a professional operation, but a little investment like that will go a long, long way. Dirty upholstery is one of the biggest detractor for selling a vehicle. Keep it up!!
I'm not used to seats that can be saved. Most of the junk I buy is well past salvageable. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I bought a '07 Crew Silverado 4.8L NO AFM, thank goodness, with 172k a few months back, which had been sitting for about 2 years. With 2 owners, I'll probably be the third.
They are good trucks and fairly easy to work on. We'll except the oil pressure sensor anyways. 🙄 Thanks for watching!
@MyLegacyGarage that sensor is a big pain. My nemesis is #8 park plug 😂.
Get a Portable 2000a Jump Box, start it and let the alternator charge it.
Pretty good job,I would have left the windshield and rockers, bought good used battery, still asked $4k.
Not around here unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
That was a steal all day I would have been happy to buy it at that cost , like you said it just takes stopping and asking
I've gotten some of the best deals that way. Thanks for watching!
Nice truck. What a deal. Love the color. . Perfect work just as she is. 😊
I'm a fan of the color myself. It did clean up nice and will make a good truck for years to come still. Thanks for watching!
Nice pickup. Wish they still made them like that.
She ain't bad. Thanks for watching!
NICE JOB! Well done !
Most definitely look into superior products for your cleaning solutions.
Thanks for the tip!
DMW white wall cleaner will make those seats look like new look it up online it won't bleach them out but it will clean them up.
I'll check it out. Thanks for watching!
Radio does not work, through it away😂 the radio is the most common thing to go out
Use Mr clean magic eraser on the arm rests. Works awesome!
I thought about using one but didn't have one. Have used those on soot before and they work great. Thanks for watching!
Great video bro,I thought you would've pressure washed the carpet I hope you make a good profit 💪🏼💪🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Honestly I thought about it and decided a quick scrub was good enough. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I dont know why you didnt film dont be scared show how things really are we all do it i just replaced doors on a dodge ram i bought did i do it right probably not but they work and look ok it may not be like new but its better. And it looks way better than before on them rockers
213 bucks for a battery umm no i can get a good battery that fits that truck for under 80
I can't around here unfortunately.
UA-cam is a brutal platform, that's why. 🤣 It turned out ok and that's good enough. No need to share the butchery. Thanks for watching!
@ i understand but if they dont like it dont watch it looks great im not even sure i could do that well myself
How much does your property cost to have all that space? I love it
It's never big enough! 🤣
Rocker panels came out great man👍🏾
They were decent. Thanks for watching!
Now that you put this info out on the internet, don't forget to subtract income taxes from the profits.
Thanks for watching!
Even a 9-volt battery across the terminals will trick a smart charger into working on a dead-as battery.
I want an old school charger that just crams amps in. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
Shocked you didnt have to replace fuel pump and clean fuel injectors.
After hearing the pump I expected to have to but it worked. Thanks for watching!
The carpet shampoo machine would likely clean those seats...
Just don't let it dry between attempts.
I may need to step up my game next time. Thanks for watching!
I heard if you hook a good battery up to the dead battery and then hook the charger up to the good battery it’ll bring the the dead battery back to life.
A few folks have suggested that. I'll try it next time. Pretty rare anything I buy has a battery with even a remote chance of revival though. Thanks for watching!
I would have just replaced the carpet. I also might have gotten replacement seats from a scrap yard.
I did actually look around for seats. Found some for $400 and decided I'd rather have that in my pocket. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
That was a good deal. $213 for a battery?! And it was an econo one?😂 walmart has one for 65 for those trucks man
I don't remember why it was so much. I hate buying batteries at Walmart though because of having to stand in the customer service line. It's good people watching though. Thanks for watching!
The carpet spots are where that zep mold cleaner spilled from cleaning the dash. It was bleach in it. Those are bleach spots.
That makes sense. I thought I still had the mats in it when I cleaned the dash but maybe not. Thanks!
"The rockers aren't great..." i was expecting some bubbly China welds not prestine rockers.
🤣 thanks for watching!
Since you have parked under that tree you might consider trimming it.😁Regarding the truck the rust could be a lot worse.
I have a lot of trees that need trimmed. I do it when I can't get under them to mow anymore. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I got to move north. These people are living in the 80's with these used prices. Someone here would post this for 10k without even cleaning it.
Thanks for watching!
Perfect seats to pressure wash and drill brush .....missed opportunity
So I've heard. Driver seat was ripped up and cigarette burned anyways so all good. Thanks for watching!
Did you have to reprogram anything with the lock cylinder swap?
Yes it needed to be programmed. I don't recall the procedure other than holding the new keys up by the switch. It must not have been too difficult if I don't have PTSD from it. Thanks for watching!
@ good it was straightforward enough.
I have the same year truck. I'm having parasitic drain. Killed one new battery,Napa gave me another, now it's dying. I haven't found the problem yet. Pex
Check the blower thingy attached to the blower unit. Gotta pull the plastic cover above the passengers feet. Buddy of mine had one that did that and that's what was bad. Forgot what it was called though. Thanks for watching!
Resistor?
The bird in the beginning of your video was trying to steal your spot light .
The birds drive me nuts when recording outside. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
Dude u did that ..WOWWWW EXCELLENT WORK
It was a gamble for sure, but I think it paid off! Thanks for watching!
Awesome job man great channel
Excellent Video :) also what take grease also mildo plus more use 50 % Vinegar plus 10% of Liquid Tide basic one and 40% water of warm or hot type to mix up use old rags or soft on may need scrub ! Do to dash , door pads also anything on vechiles plus headlights too and you try that out to! Even on seats or floor mats to all help plus windows too! Hopefully hear too if do seats vacuum up too so help dry to and be amazed smell nice too!
I might need to give that a shot next time. Thanks for watching as always!
@MyLegacyGarage agree to that !
Get you some ammonia and a drill brush, it'll take out all of those stains
Enjoying your matter of fact presentation, with regard to you checking all the fluid levels did that include the rear axle?
I did check the diff fluid and it was good. I spoke to the fella again and it was a brake shoe that lost it's springs that locked up the wheel. Thanks for watching!
hell yea man thoes rockers look amazing
They turned out ok. Not perfect but passable as long as a professional doesn't look at them. 🤣
This is a very nice video dude
This is what i searching to watch
Nice nice
Glad the algorithm sent you in the right direction. Thanks for watching!
@@MyLegacyGarage Thanks You Too for show us this nice video
I’ve driven past that truck for a long time wondering if the folks past away and left everything abandoned.
I drove past it for years before I finally stopped. Nice fella. Used to be his dad's house. Thanks for watching!
should have watched "Detail Geek" ... he's a pro and his video's could have been a big help!
I may try more of this late model stuff as the old stuff prices have gone off the rails. Thanks for watching!
Hard to believe you paid 500 bucks for that truck
Probably could have got it for less honestly. I think he was just happy somebody was interested. Thanks for watching!
it looks great
It turned out alright for sure!
the real lazy thing to have done would be to just get the truck running. with just that new battery lol. then clean it and detail it very good and then sell it.
I was really on the fence about the rockers and almost didn't fix them, but it was all moldy because the doors didn't seal anymore so I felt obligated. 🙄 Thanks for watching!
Put a set of jumper cables for 5 mins then charge it
I'll give it a shot next time. Thanks for watching!
Thanks
You are very welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice job. 👍👍
Thanks! Appreciate the support.
I’m sure the person who buys it would take it to a real detailing shop it’d be brought back they’ve got all the right chemicals
I have a feeling it's going to be a tow pig based on what he told me. Thanks for watching!
You did a great job.
Thanks for watching. Appreciate the support!
Very nice truck for $500..
Smoking deal for sure. I ran right up there after work with the trailer. Lol. Thanks for watching!
How much for the 2007 chevy
Watch the end and you'll see. 👍
In eastern nc this is a 6k truck
I think that i got a fair price for it for this area. Would've been a lot more if it was 4x4. Thanks for watching!
6000?!?😂😂
@@MidnightPolaris800 100%
good job on the rockers
It was an ok job. Good enough for the doors to seal again and look halfway decent anyways. Thanks for watching!
i don't see anything for taxes/title/tag/insurance....that type of stuff. did you not put it in your name? states may vary about the laws, i'm just curious. you rarely see that factored into these types of videos. either way, an incredible profit. just subscribed
You can only sell a limited number of vehicles in your name per year without a dealers license. 🤫 Thanks for watching!
You are back
Still hanging around like a bad penny. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
What a find for 500$.
Not bad for sure!
That isn't dirt coming out of the upholstery, it's tar. From the looks of things this belonged to a heavy smoker.
I'm totally going to steal what another commenter said and henceforth refer to it as "Human Slime" 🤣
nice truck i like it come to phoenix az with it
I believe it went to Florida actually. We'll once they fixed the rear brake issue. Thanks for watching!
Great buy for 500 should turn a profit.
Yeah it was a please take it out of my driveway price. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
You made your money on the purchase.
Did pretty good on that one for sure. Not always the case. I have a couple CJ's that prove that point. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I bought my 2008 gmc serria for $300 with 150000 miles
Nice! Great score. Thanks for watching!
She wants to live. It lit right off
Of course. It's a Chevy. Thanks for watching!
Love it. I would have bought it
It turned out pretty decent for sure. Thanks for watching!
So how is it an improvement as far as battery chargers are concerned when they won't charge a dead battery? Gee, sounds like a great idea... BAck to the dumb charger that just puts amps into it...
I've been watching local auctions for an old school one! 🤣
That's a $6K truck around here
That would've been nice. Fair price for my area though. Thanks for watching!
Nice 👍

$3600 man idk what area you're in but that's dirt cheap!!!! Same truck same yr in that condition goes for over $5000 in my area....🤦🏻♂️
I wish! Fair price around here though. Thanks for watching!
Why didn't you just jump start the truck and let it charge the old battery up until the charger worked on it?
In my experience a battery that's been dead and frozen doesn't come back from the grave. Thanks for watching!
Cool Az
Good.truck
Not bad for sure. Thanks for watching!
I would of ask for 6.500 or 7k trucks are not cheap
I had it up for $4500. Action was slow on it. I learned a long time ago to take what you can get. 🤣 Thanks for watching!

Power wash the seats !!!
Good idea!
Those rocker panels don't look DIY. You must be a pro.

Busy as always. Took me months of an hour here and hour there to wrap it up. Thanks for sticking around!
Great channel, great comments here.
The only topic that really bothered me: wear a mask when doing the moldy stuff. Mold is no joke, a friend's mum is in&out of the hospital for month now due to that crap
I did actually wear a mask for most of it. Especially pulling the seats out. Can't hear squat when I try and talk in one though so I always take it off to record. Thanks for watching!
