Today we are working on a 2007 Chevy Silverado. It's been abandoned and forgotten for several years and is in need of some severe TLC. Lets see if we can bring it back to life! This truck has it all. Gross interior, mold, mildew, rodents, rust. It's the gift that keeps on giving. How much money can we make off this flip?

You need to get a old school manual battery charger . That battery could have been saved but the newer smart chargers won't charge them if the voltage is to low .

I looked for one and came up empty. I've been keeping an eye on local estate auctions though. I'll find one eventually. Thanks for watching!

@@MyLegacyGarageYou can also stick a set of jumper cables on a working battery. Then charge it from there.

@@MyLegacyGarage here is a secret how to get the newer chargers to jumpstart a low-voltage battery. He put jumper cables on it from a good battery. Hook up the charger, it will read the voltage from the good battery and start charging. Do that for a little while and you can pull the jumper cables I’ll just keep going.

@@sccarguy8242 it also sometimes works, if you put them in a row behind each other. Be careful about how to wire it (obviously), but that helps to fool the smart chargers.

Nice job man. The reason the seats looked worse after you cleaned them is the initial extraction brings all the deep stains to the surface. It takes agitation, heat and chemical extraction to get them fully cleaned but those looked salvageable. I’d also consider some basic black carpet dye aerosol to get those bleach stains dyed again. Same deal with the battery, as others have said an old school boiler could have saved it I bet. You’re also selling your rocker repair short, it looked great!

The deciding factor really was the driver side foam was beat and it had several burn holes in it. Covers seemed easier. 🤣 Rockers came out ok, but I'm a perfectionist when I do stuff like that and the skill isn't there for perfect so it irritates me. 🙄 Thanks for watching!

Thanks for answering my question about the buyers rear axle issue. Please continue to show the reality of reviving these vehicles, especially showing the time and costs involved. Your real world coverage shows realistically what is required as compared to full time You Tubers, even though they are helpful with regards how things work and how to test/fix. Although may be beneficial searching out those that do not have fully equipped/fitted garages. Regards from across the Atlantic

A quick tip for saving the dead battery’s, put the dead battery in the car and jump start the car let it run for 10 minutes or so to get a little power into it then take it out and put on a smart charger, saved one the other day that was literally so dead I could put the terminals on the wrong way. The charger will now detect it since it has a little power.

My kinda channel. Take that battery to your local Napa and see if they will charge it so you will have a battery ready for the next car. Or they may just swap it out and give you a brand new one. It’s worth a try.
I look forward to seeing what your channel offers.
The weak point on these trucks is the 4L60E. Is it a 4.3 or 4.8? If you have the 5.3 by rare chance, the cylinder deactivation is the worst part of these trucks. Worse than the 4L60E , the cylinder deactivation wipes out cam lobes.
Also, Tuff Stuff is the best I have found to clean and smells good, not like a cleaner.
    Greetings from GA

a drill brush and a good quality upholstery cleaner, such as one from Chemical Guys, followed by a few passes with an extractor. That really works wonders on most upholstery stains. The extractor is a bit of an investment, but it will last you a long time and really helps spiff up interiors and remove smells.

Believe it or not they do sell carpet paint which works very well and does not smell. Most people just use it for touch ups and you can't tell where they use it. When I purchased my 1992 Silverado new the dealer offered lifetime rustproofing guaranteeing the body and frame will not rust so I purchased the option . You have to bring in your vehicle every two years to have the body checked for the beginning of rust to keep thew lifetime warranty good. Now the truck is thirty two years old and rust free. I knew I was going to keep this truck a longtime. The dealer bet it would probably be traded in or sold before it started to rust. Still looks new and runs great. So far the only thing I paid for is to have the transmission oil changed every few years and I do the oil change myself and only use synthetic oil. That truck body you are working on is the worst years for early rusting.
