The song came on the radio today and all I could hear was Kid Rock singing and remembering this performance. Nine years later! He is a hell of a showman.

Yes, Elton John was definitely proud of this moment, a song he wrote almost 50 years ago is still getting EVERYONE off their arses and keeping the crowd alive. I believe he could have performed for another hour and people would still be on their feet enjoying the night!

Say what you want about Kid Rock, but he took a stuffy crowd that was just sitting there staring at him in the beginning and by the end of the song half of the crowd was on their feet clapping and singing along. That's the sign of a true pro. Make them like you whether they want to or not.

Never, Ever, underestimate Kid Rock! This guy takes his live performances more serious than anyone I ever saw in concert. Vocals, instrumentals, the whole performance. I saw him in Nashville Tn. at Starwood Amphitheatre. The Best concert i ever saw in over several hundred bands in 25 yrs. His band is off the hook.

In 1973 I watched a young Elton John sing this wearing feathers and sparkling clothes standing on his piano at a huge Oregon venue. It was MUCH better than this version. Elton looks a little disappointed and I don't blame him.
