Well the microbiome Netflix limited series says you can't just change your diet over night. Also yes there is a balance between celebratory food and food my mom eats one a daily basis, mostly boiled, mostly vegestables and definitely flavorful with vinegars and such. I don't think this segment does a good job at being nuanced. It also doesn't look at the relationship psychologically with food and how eating disorders can be made. But I guess no good deed goes unpunished. Eat Food, not to much, mostly plants. And you can still do that with Sinigang, and Tortang Talon, and many other great dishes. We forget to talk about how we love vegetables!!! You bet i'm having fresh onion tomatoe mango chutney with my fried tilapia. I suggest getting people like Jo Sebastian to help talk about filipino specific nutrition. Family medicine does a great job at chronic illnesses, especially immunization, but i don't think they are they best to talk about diet and nutrition or the mental health around it.
