The experssion on dog's face says it all... :) I always wanted to learn how to stir fry veggies with chicken. Cheap combined dish in these living cost crisis times and guests coming tonight - perfect combination is about to take place! Thanks Roland for easy cooking that doesn't cost fortune to feed people and keeps us still meeting together at the table!
I just cooked it for dinner, it taste so good. My kids and husband ate almost everything. The Chinese rice wine made the difference. I will make it again.
I made this yesterday and my mil likes it! Going to keep this recipe. I did quote a number of your recipes and family all like it. You are definitely my go to chef when I need recipes!!
If I want my broccoli to be softer, do I add it together with the carrots or after the chicken but for a longer time? Don't want the chicken to be too tough too...
Wow! I am so going to try and make this (I love carrots don’t get me wrong) but I might swap them out for mushrooms instead! Maybe a few slices of red capsicum.
Hi Roland. This question is right out of left field and was hoping you may be able to help me ? Can I use water chestnut flour mixed with corn starch or only on its own and do I have to grind the WC Flour in a pestle and mortar before using if using it on its own. I am using a lot of your recipes and find them the best on UA-cam. Thank you. I am subscribed down under in Australia
Hey Spice 'n' pans. I only have one question with this kind of dish. What do you do if you prefer more meat in it? A lot of the "Asian" recipies are heavy on vegetables, and I like veggies but I like A lot of meat as well. Do you add more soy (light dark or sweet), rice wine? Oyster sauce?. Is there a "balance" here for flavour I am missing? More garlic and ginger in the base? Additionally, What is a good way to season noodles? I can boil noodles, but they never come out...… tasty. I can mix them in with sauce, but I prefer my noodles to have their own flavour, be it sweet, salty or otherwise. Do you need to fry them for a few seconds in a garlic/ginger blend and THEN work on them? Thanks as always, you make fantastic, easy to understand recipies, and I love them.
Hihi AliLou. Yes you’re right. Oyster sauce is a staple in Chinese cooking. Just like soy sauce (light and dark) as well as white pepper, Chinese cooking wine (Shaoxing Huatiao wine) and Chinese white rice wine. Get these in your pantry and you’re kinda all set for Chinese cooking. Hope this helps. Happy shopping!
Spice N' Pans You should do an essential ingredients for authentic Chinese cooking. It would be very much helpful and satisfing that we are eating real Chinese food. :)
Yayyyy! 😃 i love broccoli. Broccoli is ALWAYS my favourite veggie. That taste crunchy and delicious broccoli. With rice taste great. Great recipe. See u next time.
Yummy ! This looks so delicious ! I need to try this ! I've got all the ingredients except the Chinese wine. I wonder if I could replace it with another kind of wine. White wine, maybe ? Knowing that I'm in France. ;-) Anyway, you've got another new subscriber with me ! :-)
Looks delicious and very easy. I'll try this one on the week. The dog didn't want Tigga to have any food. He didn't blink an eye though, he was very brave. Ha ha xxx
Hihi Leogal4eva. Yes it’s possible but I personally prefer chicken thigh over chicken breast as the latter is rather tough and dry. I would recommend that you try chicken thigh instead. Hope this helps. Happy cooking!
What is light sauce? I have checked with several recipes for making Asian chicken and broccoli and every one is different and having you buy a whole cabinet of weird Chinese stuff that will be a long time before I use it again! The only thing that have in common is soy sauce and oyster sauce, and of course the chicken and broccoli,m but everything else is different! I am beginning to hate this! If one made this every day, or ,often, it would be worth buying this stuff, but other than that, it's not worth the trouble or expense to have this sitting around in the fridge till hell freezes over!! Other ingredients! Does that mean for the sauce?
You can use soy sauce. I believe the one you have is light soy sauce. Light soy sauce is thin compared to dark soy sauce which is thicker. You don’t have to buy anything else. Soy sauce and oyster sauce are good enough
I just made this! delicious! Thank you for the recipe! :P
Awesome!! We’re so happy to know that you enjoyed it. Yay!!!! 😊😊😊😊
Looks a lovely fresh dish. I’ll make it tonight here in Brighton UK. Thanks Roland xx

I just cooked it for dinner, it taste so good. My kids and husband ate almost everything. The Chinese rice wine made the difference. I will make it again.
This is delicious! I added some canned mushrooms along with the carrots because I love mushrooms. Love it!
I made this yesterday and my mil likes it! Going to keep this recipe. I did quote a number of your recipes and family all like it. You are definitely my go to chef when I need recipes!!
Hi Roland , I am cooking this recipe every month now . So yummy thank you for sharing it .
Wow! Such large pieces of carrot! Never had broccoli and chicken this way.
Good morning Roland . I will try this recipe today . I am sure it will be as good as your other recipes I have tried .
Thanks , Nour . 😊
If I want my broccoli to be softer, do I add it together with the carrots or after the chicken but for a longer time? Don't want the chicken to be too tough too...
Just steam it longer until you reduce the sauce. With the carrots might be too much and they become mushy
Making this dish now. Really easy and nice quick dish for anytime
Dis the best n simple i have seen
Thank you so much
I love the way your pets are after your food 🍲
So simple and easy instructions. Thank you so much.

Tasty dish thank you , would you say oyster sauce is a staple Chinese ingredient? Should I always have a bottle in to use as seasoning? Like soy ? 😘
Hihi AliLou. Yes you’re right. Oyster sauce is a staple in Chinese cooking. Thank you! Your recipes always look so good.
Hi Roland, I would like to include fresh shitake mushroom into this dish.
When should I add them into the wok? Is it before the carrot?
Hi Joan. You can add after because mushrooms cook faster than carrots. Hope this helps. Happy cooking!

Roland’s furry loyal “frens” are all so cute! They just love watching him (eating!! Lol!)
Hehe. They are our joy. 😍😍
Seen alot ur video..u will put soy sauce instead of salt. Soy sauce will taste btr than salt?
Yes because it has a more rounded flavour than just pure saltiness. Hope this explains. Happy cooking!
@@spicenpans agreed. Actually i like to put soy sauce more than salt but there is still some ppl prefer salt.
Can also. No problem.
Yummy!!!
Looks so yummy!
Thank you so much
What pan are you using?

炒菜得有猛火锅才香

That broccoli is undercooked, not “crunchy”! Lol! Thanks for the video.
I like most of your recipes but the chicken seems a little plain but I know is not crispy stir-fried chicken.
Hi. Can i know what taste the chinese cooking oil due i am islam. So mayb can replace other things in order to find same taste 🥰
Meat walking around.
Looks delicious 😋
Thanks so much, Annette! Happy cooking!
