Scott Bakula - Somewhere in the Night
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 лис 2010
- From Quantum Leap - Episode 3.15 'Piano Man' ("Lorraine" in France) © NBC
"Somewhere in the Night" sung by Scott Bakula alone, then with Marietta DePrima.
This is the French version, but the songs are in the original versions.
Please note that I made this humble vid just to remind everyone how cool was "Quantum Leap". If you like this, buy the DVDs (a third and longer version of this song can be found on the soundtrack) ! Thanks a lot!
And Scott: I ♥ you! ;)
LYRICS (by Scott Bakula - such a multitalented man!):
On the day I walked away
All the blue rolled into gray
Now in the dark, alone I lay
Should have stopped
But I could never ever stay
Somewhere in the night
Inside my dreams you burn so bright
And I'm with you there and everything's alright
Somewhere in the night
Before the darkness turns to light
Let me love you there, somewhere in the night
Second chances, I wont get
Wouldn't dare to hope and yet
Everywhere I turn I see your silhouette
And your love I never will forget
These extracts are © NBC
One of the best shows ever made.
Definitely an absolute gem of a series ...love it ...scott and dean to bits xx
I agree wholeheartedly. The concept was genius. It’s an anthology show with recurring characters. You can put Sam into almost any type of story. Of course the writing, direction, and performances were excellent.
Absolutely! I watch it every chance I get.
And you can catch how many ideas it gave many, many other following shows over the years including here in Canada.
It's my favorite series
Bakula is a very underrated actor!! I think he is just amazing 👏😍
i think he is much overrrated actor
He should have won an Emmy for this show
He is one of my favorite actors... that being said, I don't think he was underrated, just underexposed. He was one of the biggest TV stars of all time, but he never made it big in films. He was the star of three major series... Quantum Leap, Star Trek Enterprise, and NCIS New Orleans.
In my opinion, Scott Bakula is a most talented actor to play such versatile roles and make them so believable! I wish more seasons of Quantum Leap were on!
That was amazing
BRAVO
Than i think you havent seen many movies in your life. Bacula most talented actor haha what a joke.
He can sing, dance, act and play instruments. The man is a treasure
And NCIS NOLA
As someone who just found Quantum Leap in 2023, this is easily my favorite episode. Scott is so genuine and you can see him in Sam... especially when he sings. ❤
This show was my absolute favorite and was part of our dinner routine all through my high school years. They don't make shows like this anymore.FACT
Truth
You think the remake series will justify the show

I'm still TWIPPED OFF on how they ended this show
Play it again, Sam. A man of a thousand talents as much as the legend portraying him.
Yep! I work in the community in which he grew up. Scott is the pride of Kirkwood, MO.
Scott Bakula could play the piano. What a voice!
Thanks for all your comments. I had made this video ten years ago and it had been baned for long. I'm glad it's finally been accepted. We'll always love Quantum Leap. ❤️
That man could really sing!
Scott Bakula AND Sam Beckett are both the reason I'm proud to be a Sam
Scott Bakula actually wrote and performed this song!
he did not write this song
@@PeterZeeke He is credited as co-writing the song with a man named Velton Ray Bunch so yes, he did indeed write the song.
Scott Bakula was my teenage love 😍I’m sure he was singing this to me. We need another episode of quantum where Sam finally gets to go home and reunites with Al to make up for the desperately sad last episode
I'm still Pissed Off at how they ended Quantum Leap
With the new sequel, maybe David Bellisario will get to complete it by bringing Sam home.
Scott Bakula has such a beautiful voice. I'd never seen this episode before (I thought I'd seen them all!). Thank you for posting it.
You can watch all the quantum leap episodes on Free NBC APP
I love it
Or on ok.ru, a Russian site full with old movies and tv series. I saw Piano man last night on it. The whole tv series is uploaded there and you can watch for free. You can watch on smart tv too. I have a Netflix account but I keep going back to it.
Scott sang a number of times throughout the show.. he has a lovely warm voice.
@@makemarker Scott has actually performed on Broadway in musical theater and won a Tony for Romance/Romance.

@@tracyroweauthor never knew that, but I just took him as a multi talented performer and there is something that is just so appealing about him.. the nice guy Sam Beckett, I sense is really a lot of him as the person.
Love Scott Bakula what a great actor.
they need to bring this back.
yup
It wouldn’t be the same without Al. Dean Stockwell’s retired. So...😕
@@lorireece1970 RIP Dean,we miss you, thank you for the memories...
Haven't heard this in forever can't get out of my head Scott Bakula has such a beautiful voice didn't know he wrote this song
"Somewhere In The Night" Lyrics
Scott Bakula
On the day I walked away,
All the blue rolled into gray.
Now in the dark, alone I lay.
Should have stopped,
But I could never ever stay.
Somewhere in the night,
Inside my dreams you burn so bright.
And I'm with you there and everything's alright.
Somewhere in the night,
Before the darkness turns to light.
Let me love you there, somewhere in the night.
Second chances, I wont get.
Wouldn't dare to hope and yet.
Everywhere I turn I see your silhouette
Been so long but I never will forget.
Somewhere in the night,
Inside my dreams you burn so bright.
And I'm with you there and everything's alright.
Somewhere in the night,
Before the darkness turns to light.
Let me love you there, somewhere in the night.
Time after time, I find that I'm thinking about you.
Up on the hill I see you still but I just can't reach.
Who would answer your prayers?
Who would wait by the stairs?
Not Me.
Not Me.
Somewhere in the night,
Inside my dreams you burn so bright.
And I'm with you there and everything's alright.
Somewhere in the night,
Before the darkness turns to light.
Let me see your face.
Feel your warm embrace.
Let me love you, somewhere in the night.
He has it written and performed? Good lord he is talented....
Great singer
I don't think I've heard this song for 25 years. Couldn't even remember the name of it, but I remembered there was one I loved from QL. Did a search and as soon as it came it, it started playing in my head. After 25 years. Now THAT'S a good song!
Just saw this episode today binge watching...nice! Is it a Barry Manilow cover or a Scott B. written piece?
@@bp4099 nope. Scott Bakula has written it for an episode of the quantum leap show
@@bp4099 I was about 10 Russian boy, I recorded this episode on vhs... And here I am still
@@bp4099 Scott and Velton "Ray" Bunch wrote this together. Ray wrote a lot of the QL music.
I'm so glad Scott is now finally getting to do what he loves and always loved and wanted to do and that is live performances. First was the Connector in New York, then in Aug 2024 Man of Lamancha in New Hampshire, Then in Sept 2024 Mr. Lincoln at Fords Theater in Washington DC. We miss him on TV but we his fans are happy he is getting to do his new thing (Live performances) 💌🎹
Scott is multi talented.Hes under rated as an actor
thirty blooming years after I watched this episode on the telly, the song still played in my head. Pure magic!!
The man has an amazing voice.... and lands a role on star trek ENT too!
July 2019, still the best love ballad I ever heard.
Febr 2022, still the best love ballad I ever heard.
"Sing 'Somewhere' for me." "Oh boy."
I love him. Had a crush when this show was on, and now... I still do, all these years later. Talent is an understatement...thank you Scott.
Damn Scott you can sing Brother
He is wonder full for more years than I can count. Great actor singer band player etc. Looks will always be great
.he has a smile that will melt any ladies heart. There is. Not enough time to tell all GREAT is the best word to use.
I remember I turned 10 that week. I was asking my father for a He Man figure on November 10, 1985. Little did I know, that near Albuquerque, NM a time traveler was foiling a mob hit.
We might have visited my grandmother exactly on November 10, 1985. My dad was sometimes a dick. When told her I wanted He-Man and Skeletor figurines, he teased, "So you want a He-Man doll?" right in front of my grandmother. Luckily on November 15, I got my He-Man, Ram Man, Skeletor, and Mer-Man.
Scott really really needs to do a movie tv show play something as I am resorting to watching old Zest Canada Dry and Folgers commercials and him singing the National Anthem at a hockey and World Series game from 1993 on you tube (lol ) He is just awesome at everything he does in my eyes. I GUESS IM JUST MISSING HIM EACH WEEK ON SOME SHOW.
I could binge watch Quantum Leap!😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
I am watching an ep right now. I found it on ok.ru. Make an account for free then type in search Quantum lp and you will find all the episodes. I love that site, it's full with old movies and some tv series. I was surprised to find Quantum Leap there last week. I kept watching QP all week.
I hope. I HOPE! That every Man will recognize a womans view like that and he will know, how to react propperly. Not to lay her, but to win her heart.
my alltime Favorite
My favourite programme. Thank you for this. Best wishes.
Mine too.
They had such incredible chemistry in this episode, this and Lost The Constant are the best love stories every told in 1 TV episode Marietta DePrima I think it was way to go
Scott Bakula has to be One of the Most Talented People in Hollywood.
Such a good song, love Quantum Leap!
Something has gone wrong, I have water running down my face.
Love this song. Still watch QL on Roku.
Scott is so handsome here.
I just love the way he sings the song
I am in tears good job I was there doing my light TY very much
Love the multi-talented Mr Bakula. Wish he was available on more DVDs.
Scott played a different character every week. Genius.
Très beau duo.
Little trivia: the actress playing Lorraine is IRL married to George Newbern who played Brian Mackenzie in "Father of The Bride".
Binge watched Quantum Leap when I found it on Hulu. I always loved Scott and his sweet, smooth voice drew me in farther.
Ditched cable and went to antenna. To my surprise, a few episodes air Monday through Thursday. Awesome to rewatch these. My mom and I watched every single episode back when they first aired.
I'm watching/listening on July 29, 2022. 💜
Today, out of nowhere ,I remembered Sam leapt into a lounge singer, and blew away the audience, and I recalled a woman said something like OH My God!!. That wasn't the line but close enough, lol. What a great song. I vaguely remembered it from 30 years ago, but I knew it was worth remembering.
So pretty awesome
I love this episode and what a beautiful song This song has sentimental value to me,as does this scene.
I love this song.
Ahh back in the 90s when we were all trying to be good.
Denise Gentile/Bryson is in this one. I LOVE her! So talented.
Amazing really amazing ...and it's real
makes me a alpha male cry everytime I ere this its just so beautiful..i don't care what people say you got 1 life try to live it...
Lol calls himself an alpha male... everyone thats how u know someone isnt
Luv this !
Maybe it’s just nostalgia but sometimes I fear that the pinnacle of civilization including art and lifestyle and just about everything else was reached sometime in the late 1980s/early 1990s. It seems like we have been going downhill in a number of measures ever since.
you are not wrong, I also think the same way, the culture went downhill a lot from the 90's onwards.
@@blacksun7862 I agree about the culture and it’s effect on the young people and all people now in comparison to those times in the 80s and 90s before the internet and social media poisoned the earth.
Happy Birthday, Scott!
I don't know why this did not become a Top 40 song
Oh how I miss Scott as Sam Beckett in Quantum Leap. The partnership with Dean Stockwell was very special ......the new Quantum Leap will never take its place!!!
The absolutely the best!
I spent a few years wanting to own this song. Its before youtube. And i found i could by an updated version of the song. ... Its honestly one of my first cds.
just woke up from the MOST incredible dream....... it WAS truly "Somewhere in the Night"
I own the entire series on DVD
♥️
Wow i totally forgot, but now I remember..
Every Friday on sci-fi now. Back in the day I used to have to watch it on G4 and I really hope the new one on NBC isn't going to ruin it and hopefully Scott has something to do with it or at least a cameo
I wish this hadn't cut off before "Footloose"
You know those scenes hes playing piano as Dwayne pride in NCIS NOLA. he’s actually playing. NCIS should make a musical
The most inspirational lines from Capt Jonathan Archer's (Scott Bakula) Star Trek Enterprise - @F3OM

I have a new favorite song
OMG! Is that Jonathan Archer 'Scott Bakaula of Star Trek Enterprise fame? I never knew until this very day while searching for different interpretations of the hit composition and theme music for "The Naked City" TV program---"Somewhere in the Night"!!
yea same guy, this song was part of such a good episode of Quantum Leap
June 2020❤️
I swear that opening shot of the bar exterior was also used in another episode, I think "Maybe Baby"
This is the only episode I've never seen
My kids think Sam is stuck in time. :( Come back to the new ones Sam!
Why that song was not rerecorded and arranged for commercial publication is puzzling. Though I find this song very similar to Peter Cetera and Cher titled After All.
Has this song been released as I'm interested in producing it to Uplifting Trance
February 2018
Also in this episode, they {Scott B & M. DePrima} sing a song called::: Feelings
does anyone know who sings it originally?
August 2017
😍
This song sounds so much more beautiful coming out his mouth than the original song well done
Since he wrote the song, pretty sure he was the original singer!
Sorry he didn’t write the song Richard Kerr wrote it Barry Manilow sang it this was sung for quantum leap

You finished the song? I find iot better like that or something
Why is it in French??
Because I'm French and I have dubbed episodes.
Km 😅
You didn't have to dub it in another language...😒
This is the French version of the show which was broadcasted on French TV for the French audience, that's what it's dubbed in French. I only had this French version when I made the video...
I think Bakula was just playing Sam Beckett for too long, that why he didn't become a big movie star
