I love Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap and wish it would come back on reruns here on Bell Fibe in Canada but also love to see him on NCIS:New Orleans and Star Trek:Enterprise!
I know what you mean. These years feel like the best time to express our appreciation. Actors like Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks, and Patrick Stewart were larger than life, at a time when my imagination was new and vivid.
I am seeing the show Tuesday night, and I am so looking forward to seeing him onstage again. I had the good fortune to see him years ago back on Broadway in 1983 in Marilyn: An American Fable when he played Joe DiMaggio. Of course, I have watched all the Quantum Leap and Star Trek Enterprise episodes as well over the years.
Great to see Scott again, especially in the theater. A place where art comes to life every night. Totally understand his response on QL. Plus the journey, he, Dean, and many more went on after the series. And with the new series 🤔 Hmm always wondered if we ever could see Sam return home one day
I wish Scott Bakula would do a big episode that ends with Sam returning home circa 2001ish. The SOLE reason the new series should exist would be to get Sam home. Think of it in universe. Sam had a wife that was a terrific marriage, so terrific that Sam was considering letting his best friend die to stay with her, until SHE pushed him to do the right thing. Sam had a brother whose life he saved, a terrific reward for all the good he had done, but doesn't get to reunite with him. His mother traded a son for a son. Sam had a sister, and of course his best friend and the enjoyment of spending time with both families. Sam may have chosen to keep leaping, but he did not have all the information. He did not make an informed decision so he really didn't give consent. And had he known all that was waiting for him, there is no way this man doesn't go home. He did so much good, and for him to be endlessly leaping around alone is horrible. If somehow the new show gets Sam home, and I say 2001 so he can be reunited with everyone and doesn't have to worry about Al dying for years, then there is no better example of putting right what once went wrong. Plus, you have the bonus of a 2024 Sam able to be involved whenever.
I’m 25 so I wasn’t around when the original show was airing, watched it for the first time a couple of years ago before the reboot started and loved it even more than I like the new one. This is just my personal preference, but I must admit there are things about the new show that I like more than the original.
I really wish we could have a quick cameo of him on the new QL. There are all kinds of ways they could go with a story line involving him, even if it is only for a scene or two. I understand his point, and I am sure it would be hard without Dean there too. The cameo is just wishful thinking on my end.
I agree, I watched his reasoning over a few times trying to understand it and it seems between the studio wanting a different audience and him feeling like plain old Sam Beckett wouldn't fit in what the studio wants, is his reason for the decline. What the studio doesn't realize is, 90 percent of the audience is fans of the original show. Sam 2.0 wouldn't be a bad thing at all but maybe he's afraid of not being excepted by the audience the studio wants.
They could have had him along with others in the 2.0 series coming to his aid throughout during the last episode and save Ben Song and then leap home to be reunited with his family. Like the way everyone ran in to help Cody Rhodes win in epic fashion at Wrestlemania 40.
Trust me Scott, all the fans of the new QL want to see you on the show! Because 90 percent of them are fans of the Original. Please reconsider. The cast and the show runner want you on the show as well. Fans are still holding out hope one day Scott will play Sam Beckett again.
I agree, but honestly, the smartest thing they did was create a new character and not try to recast Sam. Scott is Sam Beckett. Personally, I see an appearance by Scott almost as a series finale thing.
@lisemccourt2986 I totally agree. I wouldn't have watched the show if they recast Scott and Dean. The only reason why I gave it a chance is because it was a sequel series. And even though Scott had declined to be on the show, perhaps he will do a series finale considering he doesn't feel he fits into the show.
Can't blame him though. The new show is just not up to par with the old one. It's okay at best. I will still continue to watch it but it's a different show.
Even if NBC had offered Scott a million dollars i doubt he would have changed his mind. NCIS New Orleans made him e ough money he doesn't have to take jobs for the money any more. That is why he is doing theater, which is his first love.
He knows he was right not to accept it as the network has now canceled the new one after only 2 seasons. And I'm yet to see any of it as it was not put on main TV only subscription channels in the UK
Now that the new Quantum Leap has two leapers? At some point that has to be resolved. And maybe when it does there'll be some sort of miracle that separates them and returns it to the original format and as they're wondering what it was that helped one person leap back home and the other one stay, that's when we see say Scott Bakula in a hat and in the background tipping his hat to Dr Song and then turning and walking away and leaping.
What I still don’t know is how did Sam’s sister reacted to John Lennon’s Imagine song after Tom Becket didn’t died in Vietnam and how did it changed her future?
Tom Wilson can LEARN "MANNERs" from Scott Bakula Scott isn't singing about NOT ACTUALLY BEING DR SAM BECKETT AND NOT GIVING SQUAT ABOUT HIS FELLOW ACTORS
I have to say to you scott quantum leap is not the same without you i miss oh boy u should come back sam deserve to leap home and be with his loving wife come on Scott do it for the fans the new quantum leap cast wants you in it i total agree with them dean would be very proud of you if you come back as your role as Dr Sam Beckett i wish you come back in 2024 fans want u back i I'm your biggest fan
Scott Bakula seems to think, if I understand him correctly, that the way they did QL original series was good for that time but not for now and in him turning down the new QL series was the best thing to do, as the ship of QL has sailed in his mind. What Scott B fails grasp is the very strong desire by QL fandom to have him back on QL and the relevance of that for the new QL series
Watching now. Great to see him. I am glad he isn’t doing whatever the new show is claiming to be, because it is not Quantum Leap. He is too much of a gentleman to say otherwise.
I love Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap and wish it would come back on reruns here on Bell Fibe in Canada but also love to see him on NCIS:New Orleans and Star Trek:Enterprise!
It breaks my heart to see Scott as an older man. He looks great, don't get me wrong, but i hate seeing my heroes get old. Love Scott Bakula!!
Thanks Gos he doesn't have dementia! Getting in age isn't as awful as this disease.
I know what you mean. These years feel like the best time to express our appreciation. Actors like Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks, and Patrick Stewart were larger than life, at a time when my imagination was new and vivid.
Just saw him do the 90 minutes of “Mr. lincoln” without intermission….no problems with memory for him so far, it seems.

I would to see him return just to see him leap home.

He aged incredibly well. God bless him. Loved that series.❤️

I’m so jealous, wish I could’ve jumped on a plane from Australia to see this live. Thank you guys for this. Loved it .❤

It's on Paramount Plus. They do a free trial that lasts for a week or two. Get the free trial and then bingewatch it in a day or two.

He did Man of Lamancha on an epIsode of QL. He should do it on stage
He just finished a run in that in Peterborough, new hampshire.
