- What a difference this little modification has made! £30 on eBay has brought my interior bang up to date. This little modification takes a little time and patience but the results speak for themselves and coverts your shifter from the old side button style to the more up to date forwards facing button. Hopefully you enjoy the video and it help you decide whether you want to do it yourself!
Works for both VW/Audi gearsticks (exactly the same method for both)

Fantastic job, gonna do this mod to my A4 sline
Hey mate, hope your well. So I've just purchased the same audi in automatic. I just wanted to know i had to change the module If I was swapping my Non-MFSW steering wheel with paddle shifts, to a flatbottom wiu paddleshifts.
Thank you.
Hi, love the videos.
I got a 10 plate s-line. Was wondering about the nice flat bottom steering wheel. Mine comes with the normal one.
I don’t want to retrofit, as buttons might not work. Have you got any suggestions???
Yeah might have to pick one of these up myself lol thanks for the vid ! 👊🏻
Cant beat it for £30! The only part of my interior that looked dated was the gearstick
Hi
Could you tell us which audi a1 gear part number is or which year it's come off. Thanks pal
Just got an A3 2 litre Quattro , and your channel is awesome giving me so many ideas 👍🏼
Cheers mate, glad to here! 🤙🏼
Much better👍
Hi, I just got an Audi A3 8P. Great channel. Got yourself a sub. Which gear know is this as I can't find the leather perforated one here in Aus. Any tips?
Do you have part number plz. Been looking to do this mod but can't find right part.
Thanks
Anyone got a link? Can't seem to find it.
Do heat and turn same time or give it heat then turn the plastic
What year was the gearstick from
Can you please share the product link
Followed everything step by step but when I’m putting the new knob on and giv it it’s final whack so it sat down fully the button just springs in… any ideas ?
Could be many things mate, the in er plastic bit not quite straight/gearknob needs resetting/ some little part broken etc! Hard to say, hope you get it sorted though!
Is it better to turn clockwise or anti ?
Quarter turn anti clockwise 👌
hi my friend, i pressed the button before putting it on and now it is stuck. 😭 Do you have a solution to get it out please ?
i literally just did the same thing, any idea on how to fix it
Take it another step further with a manual boot mate
When's the video coming out in the lurker 😉
Soon mate, soon 👀
Ok so this is probably a dumb question but where the hell are the cup holders on a Audi a3 8p7 convertible model not seen anyone demonstrating them ? Lol
You should get apply car play unit would completely make a difference
Been looking at one of those Xtrons units! Seem to be the best bang for buck
@@matimcfetridge yh bro get an Xtrons unit 4gb ram. Best looking unit
@@matimcfetridge Whatever you get, watch out for the rear speakers and an alternator whine through speakers after installing it.
Have heard about this! Any way around it?
@@matimcfetridge it’s either getting a separate amp for the back or the xtrons coming with a wire for the amp to power the rear speakers but I still had problems with that also. So I just gave up and put the old head unit in and used fm Bluetooth.
can u gusy c anything in this video ? LOL
You expecting anything major to go wrong mechanically?
I wont lie, I hope not 😂
@@matimcfetridge 🤣🤣
@@matimcfetridge just thought id ask because you said the mileage was 160k+ lol id be so paranoid
Aslong as the car is looked after it should go for a while yet, historically 160k is nothing for some VW/Audi’s
