I have been using the iRestore Professional Hair Growth System for about three months. In this video I show you my eleven-week results (just shy of 3 months). I am pleased iRestore has partnered with me on this series of videos as I think I am seeing positive improvements to my hair. You can judge for yourself in the before and after pictures in the video.
I have to give you a correction though. In the video I stated that I had started using a derma roller plus Rogaine every night. After doing that for about a week though, I realized the Rogaine was too messy and I couldn’t keep it up. I stopped doing either of those things.

Hi Beautiful Lady! I am a medical professional and do a lot of research. You did a great job explaining the basics to encourage people to research LLLT for hair regrowth on their own. I hope this helps with the explanation of DHT blockers and inhibitors: we all have a male chromosome which means all humans should produce testosterone. When our bodies stop using the testosterone appropriately, it eliminates the excess through hair follicles, and for many it causes male and female pattern hair loss. That is where the DHT blockers and DHT inhibitors help. Inhibitors act by inhibiting excess testosterone from flowing to and sitting in follicular receptor sites and causing hair loss and thinning. DHT Blocker allows the excess testosterone waste to leave where it is supposed to be, but prevents the excess DHT from being able to sit in those same receptor sites, disallowing the excess testosterone waste to ruin the hair follicles, therefore keeping the hair from early death.

It’s been a year since your post, do you have any update on whether Irestore worked for you?
Saw Palmetto may be unsafe for pregnant or breastfeeding women. I know your channel is aimed at older women, but I thought I would mention it anyway.
With using so many different products, how will you know which ones really work? I'm currently using a hair laser and having a good result. I used minoxidil for 20 years, it worked but it's very drying. I've tried supplements as well. It's so devasting to lose our hair. I'm just glad there are so many different products available to us.
Hi Beth, you know what has been helping me,3 things ,diatomaceous earth, vitamin d3,and natural vitamin e, not pill form,it comes in a bottle ,it is natural, not synthetic. I had always had tons of hair ,then menopause happened, so I looked into natural stuff, and have increased good fats into my diet. It has helped a lot do not know which one but figured they are all good for me. Hope it can help you

Thank you so much for this video Beth! Thursday nights are my nights to dermaroll my scalp for hair growth and I missed it last night. After watching your video I am getting out my dermaroller and hair serum. I would love to see your hair growth affirmation video. I will definitely post the affirmations. Unfortunately though, I had thought I removed the part from the video where I was doing the Rogaine and the dermarolling. I actually stopped doing that after about a week as it was too difficult to do and the Rogaine was just too messy. It made my hair very greasy and so I quit using it all together. Darn! I can’t believe I posted the video which still included that. You might try it though as if you can keep up with it I have heard that it does do some good things. I just couldn’t make myself stick with it. Pardon this if there are any Typos as I dictated it.
I’m in my early 50s and started using Rogaine as soon as I noticed some hair loss around the widows peak. I’ve been using it now for six months and even my hairstylist noticed my baby hairs coming back I’m very happy with it

A year ago I went to the dermatologist for hair loss and my insurance (Premera) charged me the full price of the visit because “hair loss isn’t covered at the dermatologist” even though that’s where everyone online says to go. And the dermatologist treated me like I was weird for coming. So! This makes me feel better that I went to the dermatologist!! I was right after all. And I’m in my late 20s losing hair with celiac and hypothyroid... so I should be at the hair doctors... lol. The American healthcare system is garbage 😡. Thanks for the video!❤️
I am so sorry that happened for you Aurelie! That was ridiculous that that dermatologist looked at you funny when you mentioned hair loss as apparently that is one of the main things they focus on. Unfortunately, I pretty much think you’re right about the American healthcare system. It’s great if we break a bone or need surgery real quick but most of the medicines we get really just alleviate symptoms and don’t really do anything for causes. Thanks for watching my video. Hi, Beth! It looks like you've been getting great results using the IRESTORE laser light therapy unit. I don't understand why you feel the need to add the Rogaine, plus the Spironolactone drug that you probably don't need for blood pressure issues. I would caution you about taking medication that you don't NEED for medical reasons. These medications all have side effects, and unless you're determined to take it no matter what, then why start? Why not just use the IRESTORE laser device for a year and see what happens just using that alone. If you don't get satisfactory results after using it for 6-12 months, then consider using the Rogaine. How will you really know what is working and what isn't working if you're using all these things? Anyway, I am just saying all of this out of concern for you. I don't think you need to worry about going bald anytime soon! You have time to experiment to see what will work best for you! ♥
Studies have shown that soaking in green tea 20 prior to red light will have 10x more effect. So 10 months effect will show up in one month. My hair is growing and filling in after two months. I also use a water filter in the shower. My hair is getting shiny.

@@Karla-mu6hn Do not remember but search studies on green tea and red light therapy. Just soak the pads in green tea or put it in a spray bottle and keep your body in green for 20 minutes. Make a little extra and drink it because it is all good. Also a two hour red light from a doctor I am currently watching.

@@johnnyh64 The short answer is it might be working for me. I've always thought I had "thin" hair especially in the temple areas. In addition to the irestore I use 5% minoxidil and between the two I think my temple areas have filled in some and my ponytail is nice and thick. I figure it can't hurt to continue as I do see some difference and Dr. Dray and Dr. Sam Ellis have given it their approval.

Thank you for such an informative video. All my life I had thick hair, always one of my better features. I have been experiencing Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia for about 2-3 years and the rest of my hair is thinning also. I think I’ll check with my dermatologist to see if this may help. Beth, you are always so inspirational! In Feb. I noticed I was losing my hair. My mom lost hers so I'm sure it's hereditary. I panicked and ordered the IRESTORE. I used it faithfully until Sept when I went on a couple of trips back to back. I missed treatments and struggle to get back with it. I have to write it down when I use it. Being retired, I'm afraid I don't know one day from the next! However, I do think I had growth results when I was using it, but feel like I have lost it. I'm getting back into being diligent with it. I couldn't use the shampoo and conditioner , as I have curly, frizzy hair and it made it much worse. I admire you and all you do! Thanks for sharing your life with us!

I have an autoimmune disease and take methotrexate so loose hair if I don’t take 2 different vitamins. Viviscal and silica with zinc and biotin. But I triple the dose because I have to. When I can’t get viviscal I panic because my hair starts falling out, then when it comes back in stock my hair regrows. Relief. It really works.

Thanks for doing this video. I was considering purchasing the Irestore for my husband and me for Christmas. Would love it if you did the derma-rolling video. Also, be careful with spironolactone, and make sure they are doing the necessary labwork regularly to make sure your potassium and creatinine levels are okay. I replaced this with saw palmetto years ago when I was taking it for acne.

Hi Dave. Congratulations on getting to do the trail! I would definitely do it. My hair is much thicker now. The shedding phase was scary But it doesn’t happen for everyone. The helmet just speeds up whatever phase you are in and if it happens to be shedding that happens too. Good luck! Yes, you do have to use it forever but to me that’s like anything else. You must keep using good skin care forever or it doesn’t work either.

How common is the problem with hyperpigmentation on skin while using red light therapy... i (and milions of people probably) have standard red light panel for general skin (face) health and look... should i be worried about getting more pigmentation...? (like freskles etc.)
No, that is just an unusual problem I have, which is very rare. If you don’t notice getting more hyperpigmentation, you probably are not.

I appreciate this video very much. I tried Rogaine but had a bad skin reaction to it, I was so disappointed. I am now trying Viviscal, however it's too early to know if it's working.
I can't afford the irestore light therapy device, but am thinking about trying the vitamins. I am also interested in the derma rolling.
I have been taking Viviscal since last year. I stopped taking it for a number of months thinking it wasn't doing much. Going off Viviscal made my nails get brittle and hair shedding increased. I went back on Viviscal (maintenance dose 1 pill a day) and my hair stopped shedding and my nails are in better shape. I don't think I will ever go off Viviscal again. BTW, I am 60 years old.

Hi Lisa. That is so funny that you mentioned the Irestore and left a comment this morning. Here in Wichita it is 5 AM and I am sitting here with Irestore on my head as we speak! Lol! Actually, I just make sure I don’t have any little hair comes in my hair and I just wear the device and hope it gets to the right areas. That’s a good question but it just seems to work even without thinking about that too much. I really like that it has full head coverage.

Hi Lisa. I had exactly your response. The red light therapy actually hastens along any growth or shedding phase. Your hair is in. For the first 3 to 4 months you can lose some hair because I did too. My advice is just to stay the course. You will start re-growing hair soon.

Hi Sally. Sorry it took me so long to reply to your comment but I was on vacation and I wanted to come home and find out the name of my nose trimmer. Unfortunately, it is an off brand in my looked it up on Amazon and it is nowhere to be found. Basically if I were you I would just look for any nose trimmer with good reviews. They cost around $10 and are not bad at all.

What is the difference between the professional and the essential?

So, using red light high frequency or led lights can cause more hyperpigmentation? That, is a huge bummer!
I think it just did that to me as I had overstimulated my facial skin by using the IPL. Most people do just fine with red light therapy. Unfortunately, I am not one of them.
Happened to me with redlight therapy a year ago..went to a tanning salon where they offered redlight therapy... I was using it for my whole body and face and got a big brown spot on my back. But I do want to mention I was going 5 days a week ten minutes a session. maybe over using it..till this dayhasnt gone away..

I've been taking a supplement called Vi-Telometry that affects the DNA Telomeres which directly affect aging of the body. One surprising effect was lots of new hair growth all over my head. Ok I have been doing the red light full body panel by Platinum LED. Yes my hair has been growing. More energy however you have to cover the chin and mouth otherwise you will get thicker unwanted hair. Oh one final thing I use a filter in the shower and my hair has gotten so soft and shiny. There is also a study done on soaking the area in green tea 20 min prior. Final I appreciate your true before and after pictures.
Wow! That is so interesting about everything you shared. I would love to be able to do red light therapy but I tend to have pigmentation problems when I do. @@FiftyPlusBeauty Hello I also heard that if you do red light for your skin you have to avoid certain types of creams or you will get pigmentation problems. But it clears up after a few weeks. So I do not put on any creams for a half hour after red light therapy.
Why did your dermatologist recommend spironolactone instead of dutasteride or finasteride?
Are you on 200mg a day of spironolactone?
I don’t know, but unfortunately, I couldn’t use it as it made my face itch for some reason.
Didn’t you try the Hairmax hair band laser too? Did you not like that one? Can you say why?

I think the hair Max headband worked as well. I have a video on my channel about my results. The reason I stopped using it though was that it was giving me hyper pigmentation on my forehead. I am one of the rare people You can’t tolerate red light therapy. I am getting the same good results using the Ira store but I put a piece of blue construction tape on my forehead so the red light does not get onto my face. I actually would love to do red light therapy so I am kind of disappointed it gives me brown spots.

Why is the red light on your forehead a problem???
Unfortunately, for some people, red light therapy actually causes hyperpigmentation. In the past when I have experimented with it, I actually get brown spots. For most people, the LED light removed them.

Actually, it actually improves the skin for most people and I wish I could use it. Due to a medical issue I took tetracycline for five years and it made my skin very sensitive to red light and actually other lights too. Most people do not have that problem.
