This is honestly so refreshing after watching speed runs and challenge runs, or looking up specific builds or whatever. Just watching someone run around the world and figuring stuff out like a normal human being is so nice to see.
I think this summarises how your first playthrough should go. Like this guy did a great job of actually playing the game to it's fullest. Making mistakes, unoptimised build, farming ruins for hours to beat the first boss, exploring and finding cool stuff, falling for traps despite the messages spoiling it and then finally going back to beat those hard enemies and making progress.
This is why I am currently steamrolling through all my ng+s because these demigods will understand the pain I felt when I first got a fireball thinking " oh I have a ranged option now"and still got my ass whooped 😭
Elden Ring was my first Souls game experience and I spent 3 hours trying to beat the first tree sentinel as a lvl 1 wretch, I refused to continue with the game while he was alive and it took me over 60 tries to finally kill him. After getting off I probably had the best sleep of my entire life
Ye obviously not a noob lol Trust me I started out as a real noob it would've probably only been entertaining to even watch me for the rage moments everything else was very slow and annoying to learn but I'm glad I did so worth it this game is amazing.
13:30 The hit sfx synced on the beat with the song was such a nice touch. Your editing is so satisfying because of these little things. Good job, man. 👏
You know you've done it right when someone like me who isn't particulary interested in Elden Ring enjoyed this video a lot. Watching the second one now! Keep it up, all the best!
I've been playing this game now for 2 weeks as a noob... finally started to look at content I already completed to realize I missed so many fundamental game mechanics that would have made combat far more finesse. Being a noob though is so much fun because we never get to play that way again :(
The leveling up to wield Halberd is like a master who tasks you with something incredibly demanding in exchange of the supreme skill, only to find out that the supreme skill is to believe in yourself.
I don’t understand it, what the purpose of giving stuff super high stat requirements only for people to get there and realize that it basically does the same damage as early game weapons with your new level. I guess it’s nice that early game weapons are viable but it hurts so bad to grind for those levels and realize it’s not actually better despite asking for so much more
I enjoy this so much! It's like watching chapter 1 : "The right to wield the Golden Halberd" of a movie. Then show all the adventures leading up to it. Love it! Looking forward to the next part of the journey
I can't tell you how many times I've watched these videos. They are super enjoyable and inspired me to give Elden Ring another chance. Love the series!
I've loved how the game doesn't tell you anything really and gives you three areas right off the bat to struggle through haha. I've seen so many different ways and routes to play this game it is amazing.
As a veteran since Demon's Souls I can only imagine what it has to be like not starting with the "most straightforward" game of the series but with the Open World game which has to be the most overwhelming experience of the From Software games. Kudos to your persistence! And great video btw!
Its like some years late. But i started this game and Im so happy to see your videos. Everyone else seems to so challenges like lvl 1 naked one shot stuff and im sitting here just being happy to see someone else steuggling with me
Or just equipped it, straight up. The stat requirements in this game aren't a must-have, you only want to meet the requirements if you plan on using that weapon's special ability. :P You can equip any weapon you want in the game, regardless of stats, but you can't use their special ability, that's why the weapons aren't grayed out or missing from the equip menu, but have a red cross on them, means you can equip them, and swing them around, but you can't use their special ability. xD
I never liked the souls games but I am HOOKED on Elden Ring. I find myself cheering when complete strangers beat a boss, or groaning when they get close. Your video was very entertaining!
