    That still remains the only time since 1999 when Federer lost a set 6-0. I think that's a very underrated Nadal's achievement.

      wow really? I know Federer took 6-0 against great players like Murray (London 2014) and even on finals against Nadal (Hamburg 2007), Djokovic (Cincinatti 2012) just to name a few so I used to think it was more normal, really nice record by Roger

    This was the greatest performance ever in a GRAND SLAM FINAL. Novak put up a better fight in the Semi-finals, but Rafa did not drop a set in the entire tournament. Legend. Still doing it in 2020. Amazing player who has several more years to go.

    Probably the most one sided tournament for Rafa in his entire career.he was really on fire.feel sorry for roger here.if only he had won a set..... though credit to Novak for taking Rafa to a tiebreaker in the semifinal.

    The best Rafa and the weakest Roger in all of their RG meetings.
    Remember watching this live and had a feeling before the match that Roger would struggle to win games because he had been struggling throughout the tournament and Rafa had been crazy impressive.
    Rafa also made way for his Wimbledon Triumph with this win. Roger recently admitted that this beat down made him seriously doubt that he could win against Rafa in the -08 final.

      Ertugrul Körpinar well.. to a degree, yes.
      But I don’t think that we in our lifetime will ever again see a tennis player that good on a single surface than Rafa on clay.. so that Roger had one really bad match against him in RG is actually not too surprising overall. That said, losing a slam final winning 4 games is not fun..😏.
      But to me the -10/-11 losses to Novak in USO was way more frustrating.

      It's astonishingly naive to think that a kid who was winning RG with his eyes shut in 2008 was better than 2012-14 Nadal at the French open who had to respond to the threat of Novak. Novak pushed Rafa's game to much greater heights and it's just blatantly obvious. He was so much more aggressive in 2014 for example as he had to be now that he had a genuine threat on clay. There are some good highlights of the matches against ferrer and murray in 2014. How anyone could watch them and think 08 rg nadal was better is beyond me. I mean the fh in particular in 2014 is just on a completely different level

      @@XYZ-ke6qi the way fed and Nadal fans just cling on to this idea of how tennis they played in the 2000's was their best tennis just baffles me. The game evolved the next generation of players were better and fed and Nadal kept striving to improve. Just look at Nadal Djokovic at 08 Fo compared to 2013 Fo. It's a different brand of tennis there's an entirely different feel about it. Same with comparing federer-nadal at 2007 Wimbledon to federer-Djokovic at 2015 Wimbledon. Don't focus on federers groundstrokes or his movement focus on the difference in the feel of the 2 matches. It genuinely feels like a different sport in the 2015 final.

    • @Diego-ky2nj
      @Diego-ky2nj 6 років тому +2

      Fed-nadal was decent viewing don't get me wrong it's not that the tennis wasn't pleasing on the eye but then you watch fed-novak and it's just bigger, better, stronger, faster

      @@Diego-ky2nj 2014 Nadal was a beast and is probably better offensively than 2008 but 2007-2008 Nadal was certainly superior defensively. This is clay where defensive skills significantly outweigh offensive skills.
      Not to mention Nadal also destroyed Djokovic in 2007 and 2008 Roland Garros Semifinals.

      I didn't say Nadal is the GOAT on clay, I said that he's so above any player on any surface in the history of tennis. Instead of asking people to read carefully, go ahead and read carefully yourself.
      And no, I don't think he'll win the ATP Finals, but that's ok. Will Djokovic win Olympics? Which he's played 3 times out of 4 on his favorite surface and hasn't even reached a final...? Lol
      Btw, in case you are about to talk shit about Olympics.. "It's arguably the 5th Grand Slam. It's of that importance for all of us. Even more, because it happens every four years" -Novak Djokovic
