wow really? I know Federer took 6-0 against great players like Murray (London 2014) and even on finals against Nadal (Hamburg 2007), Djokovic (Cincinatti 2012) just to name a few so I used to think it was more normal, really nice record by Roger
This was the greatest performance ever in a GRAND SLAM FINAL. Novak put up a better fight in the Semi-finals, but Rafa did not drop a set in the entire tournament. Legend. Still doing it in 2020. Amazing player who has several more years to go.
Probably the most one sided tournament for Rafa in his entire career.he was really on fire.feel sorry for roger here.if only he had won a set..... though credit to Novak for taking Rafa to a tiebreaker in the semifinal.
The best Rafa and the weakest Roger in all of their RG meetings. Remember watching this live and had a feeling before the match that Roger would struggle to win games because he had been struggling throughout the tournament and Rafa had been crazy impressive. Rafa also made way for his Wimbledon Triumph with this win. Roger recently admitted that this beat down made him seriously doubt that he could win against Rafa in the -08 final.
Ertugrul Körpinar well.. to a degree, yes. But I don’t think that we in our lifetime will ever again see a tennis player that good on a single surface than Rafa on clay.. so that Roger had one really bad match against him in RG is actually not too surprising overall. That said, losing a slam final winning 4 games is not fun..😏. But to me the -10/-11 losses to Novak in USO was way more frustrating.
It's astonishingly naive to think that a kid who was winning RG with his eyes shut in 2008 was better than 2012-14 Nadal at the French open who had to respond to the threat of Novak. Novak pushed Rafa's game to much greater heights and it's just blatantly obvious. He was so much more aggressive in 2014 for example as he had to be now that he had a genuine threat on clay. There are some good highlights of the matches against ferrer and murray in 2014. How anyone could watch them and think 08 rg nadal was better is beyond me. I mean the fh in particular in 2014 is just on a completely different level
@@XYZ-ke6qi the way fed and Nadal fans just cling on to this idea of how tennis they played in the 2000's was their best tennis just baffles me. And as usual Rafa won
