- Are you worried that your child is not talking a lot compared to other kids? Does your child have speech delay? You need not worry. In this video, we will discuss the normal speech and language development of children. Then we will talk about signs you should watch out for that may indicate speech delay in a child. And lastly I offer you tips on what you can do at home to help your child develop his or her speech and language.

Good morning im worried about my son by the way po may son is 3yrs old nakakapag salita nmn po sya kaso hindi nya po kaya tumagal sa isang conversation..halimabawa mang hihingi sya ng tubig sasabihin nya water water hindi sya titigil hanggang sa hindi mo binibigay sa kanya..hindi po sya kagaya ng mga pinsan nya na mas bata sa kanya..they understand better and can speak better as my son do. Im so worried about my son having asd but im not so sure kung asd nga ba talaga kasi doc pag tinatawag ko sa sa name nya hindi sya nag rereply pero pag tinawag ko sya sa name nya na may anry tune agad nmn po sya limilingon..anu po ba dapat namin gawin mag asawa doc? Thank you for the informative video! Should I be concerned if my 12 month old doesn't say mama or dada or any word, doesn't respond to her name, doesn't try to imitate sounds, only says "ma" or "ba" and grunts when pointing to things?
I'm a stay at home mum and speak with her all day long, repeatedly naming objects, and her dad speaks with her more than an hour each day. We are both verbally intelligent, so a bit confused about this situation.
At 12 months, your child should say a few words, should respons to name. Talk to your pediatrician about this.

It will develop. But if you're noticing uncommon aspects, let your pediatrician know.
Hello doc..good day.. at the age of 1 yr and 5 months he can identify already sounds of animals..now he is 1 yr and 9 months he can sing and identify alphabet kahit na hindi po ito in order. He can also identify animals and their sounds also.. he can speak mama but not always.. he can also identify colors..

Hi Dra. I started listening to ur youtube just today. Napaka laking tulong po for us parent para sa may anak na hindi mo alam ang kalagayan. 12yo npo ang anak ko. Palage sa 1st week ng school pinatatwag parents para siibihan ng teacher na gagawan referal for spead schooling ang bata ayon sa kanila hindi nakakaintindi ang bata. Yet after a month sasabihing oky naman sya pro madalas hindi nya naiintindihan mga sinasabi sa kanya. Limited lang ang unawa nya. Pro umabot na ng grade6 same padin dhl mukhang oky naman daw pero limited padin ang unawa. Saan po ba kami dapat lumapit at mag pa evaluate o diagnose. Slamat po at More power po.
Hi Mam. Thank you for your kind review po. I suggest you go to your pediatrician for screening and initial evaluation. Then it depends on the initial visit.. it is possible your child may be referred to a develomental pediatrician.

Good Day Doc. First of all thank you for the video. My Son will be turning 2 years old this October. He can mumble words. He can say dada, mama, papa, AA, TT but not consistent. I do not know if he is speech delay but ut if I show him a letter he can identify it. If I show him the letter C he will say C.

Thank you for the informative video Doc. Tinapos ko talaga video niyo po. I am worried about my 2 yr old son who has not yet spoken words like mama or papa. But if we give simpe directions, he would pay attention and eventually follows it. He communicates by gestures or sometimes shouting. Worried lang kami kasi when he was still a new born, medyo natagalan sa hearing test pero pumasa naman. Baka po factor ito doc na di pa sya makautter ng simple words? Although he would somewhat babble when nobody is around.

Hi Doc. My son is already 1 yr and 8 months old. I am worried because he can only say mama when he is hungry or having tantrums. He doesn't respond when we call him by his name. But when we play his favorite nursery rhyme like Cocomelon, he will immediately come closer to me and watch it. When he's hungry, he will just cry and have tantrums. My daughter is almost 5 and has been in speech therapy twice a week since last June. We see a huge improvement in her speech (I hear her talk a lot when she’s playing imaginative play) however she won’t speak in full sentences when we ask her questions like what did you do at school today? She answers questions when I read her a book like I’ll ask ‘what is Baby Llama doing?’ She’ll respond ‘crying’. How do I get her to talk more like tell me her day 😩
Try to speak in 2-3words. And Increase words when you know she is trying to use 2-3 words in sentences. Did the speech therapist not tell you parents to start speaking in 2-3 words and by time increase words?
I helped My child at home and in few moths he speaks in 3 words sentence Now he use 7-8 words in sentences.
Be patient she Will be able to speak i Hope you help her at home.
My child still cant tell about his Day. I ask him What did you do when i hand you over in kindergarden. Oh really and whom do you play with. Do I know the Boy, And What did you do then. Try this

Im glad she has improved. About your concern, is your child also being seen by a developmental pediatrician? This is a good question to bring up with your doctor.
My 3 year old son who turned 3 on may 2022. He has great understanding, can count to 10 but is quiet, he can say some words in English and in our native language. Do I need to worry? Any tips out there, we have started roleplay last night and got him to say cheers as we were pretending to drink tea
Hello doc, my daughter is already 30months old, she can only pronounce 3 words clearly, and these are mommy, yes and no, she can speak and construct simple sintence but she cant pronounce other words properly, like when she says "ter" instead of water, she says T Q instead of thank you, weca instead of welcome,
She counts numbers like wa to te fo fa che. Some of her letters are silent when she speak.😢
hello po yung anak ko po is 18 months, nakakaintindi naman po. may mga words na po syang nasasabi like yum yum papa mamam nana mga bable words po. pero alam nya po yung usage ng bawat gamit nya like yung shoes alam nya sa feet ung cap alam nya sa head nya yun nalingon naman po sya medyo takot lang po sya sa ulan malalakas na white noise ganun po. naiimitate naman nya po ang sound animals.
Sounds normal to me. Just keep teaching your child. Kausapin nyo po palagi.

My son is 19 year old kid he only says mama thats all... He also doesnt paying attention whenever we call his name.. even he is not deaf

He can say a fee words but doesnt from 2 words phrase. We can understand him thru his gestures and expression and his reactions. Should I be worried? Or is it still normal?
Your baby may have a speech delay. If you're worried about it, it's better to have them checked.

At 2 years old, you can only understand half of what your child is saying. If you are worried, talk to your pediatrician about it.
Between the ages of 2 and 3, most children: Speak in two- and three-word phrases or sentences. Use at least 200 words and as many as 1,000 words. I suggest go to a doctor.

Hi. Your niece needs to be evaulated sooner. Ask for a referral to a pediatric developmental specialist from your pediatrician.

Hi Dr. My son 2yrs 3month got Mild Autism Diagnosed but im confused because he is looking at me, communicating at me and saying 45 words. Now he started talking two words at a time. He can follow instructions with gestures and with out. He eats alone, he is very good in puzzles. He is Covid baby we don’t have friends with the same age thats why I am the only one playing with him. Im confused.
Perhaps he doesnt have autism, he might need more interaction with other kids. I've known like 5 kids that were diagnosed with autism at 2.5 years old or at 3, and later are 4 or 5 or 6 years old were evaluated again and considered neurotypical.

Talk to your pediatrician po, about your observations and concerns regarding your child. He/she can make a referral to a specialist for further evaluation. The sooner, the better po, for your son to get evaluated.

Doc yung anak kopo 7 yrs old na, hirap siyang ikwento pag may tinanong ka sakanya, pero nakakabasa naman pu siya pag pinapabasa ko, pero pag may tinanong ako kung anong nangyare hirap po niyang ikwento, minsan pag may pinag uusapan kame minsan ang layo po ng sagot nya.

Hello po, ask ko lang po 18 months po anak ko minsan po mahirap sya tawagin pero marunong nmn po sya makipaglaro. Nag therapy po sya kasi tiptoe walikng sya pero sabi naman po ng orthopedic pedia sa muscles daw po ang problema. Need na po ba sya ipa check s dev ped? Ofw po kasi ako hindi ako hands on s anak ko salamat po.

Look normal nman by his/her age. Teach nyo lang po sya it will develop. If at this point same pa din, try to bring her for evaluation..

Doc, I'm so worried to my son, 1 & 6months na po sya kaso wala papo nababanggit na salita, kht po mama papa wala po, pero nakikita ko naman po nag sasalita sya kaso diko maintindihan, tapos pag tuturuan ko kht mama wala sa atensyon nya. Hi Doc, My son is turning 3 on october. I am worried either its speech delay or autism. At the young age of 1 , He can already identify numbers 1-10 and alphabeths A-Z and what it stands for. He can say mama ,papa and even call me with my name only. Whatever he watch in youtube (rhymes) he can catch up on it, sing with it tho he cant say the full lyrics. He can also identify the animals sound and he loves animals too. Im just not sure what language he is comfortable speaking. Sometimes he can talk with limited english only,limited bisaya and tagalog such as I found a bug, asa papa (wheres papa), busy kakay ( he is busy) ayo papay habyu ( buy biscuits,love you ) i see cookie and so much more. He dont play with other kids , he wouldnt want them to take his toy And i guess he is avoiding a bully since other kids usually hurt him before by shouting or any child thing . He dont follow my directions but when his papa takes turn, he would listen. He dont maintain eye to eye contact with others po. He cant speak words straight . is this normal po ba? Your child may need further evaluation. Please bring your kid to the pediatrician for screening or developmental pediatrician for further evaluation.

I think it's normal naman po. i-guide nyo po sya kung pano sya magsalita ng straight at kung ano dpat isagot sa tinatanong nyo.
