Was visiting HMS Victory last week and the walkway under her hull has opened to the public. Took some great shots of the rope caulking between the planks and some remnants of the copper plating still evident. A fantastic addition to the experience.
I admired your great ideas and careful work! I found your video very helpful. I look forward to working with you! I have this kit. I plan to start making "Victory" soon. And "Yamato" too.
Well done John, looks great now. i was interested in how the tape applied. I did my Bounty with hard copper tiles, it came out like yours but I needed loads of breaks! I also sliced my finger tips a bit too as copper can be lethal! Very enjoyable video John, the model is a credit to your skills. Regards JH ;-)
Love the build and has been really helpful for me with the same kit! two things, where did you get the tape and what is the song "good things coming our way"? I know, I'm a tad late to the party :) Thank you!
I think the result looks amazing John! I can't order the tiles from ModelSpace now as they are out of stock and would like to try your method with the tape. You mentioned that the size was 6mm. Any other details that would help me getting a good tape that works? There are so many types out there on Amazon it is hard to know which one to choose. Thanks for posting your videos - they are really clear and help me out! I appreciate your time.

@@Johnbuildsiconic Yes the video was really clear. You changed from individual tiles to rows of 4.What made you change your thinking? Are you happy with rows rather than individual tiles? Your result is great!
I inherited this kit ... you need and spare let me know. I am into 1/35 stuff so i stole all the balsa. So if you need cannons etc or the plates let me know.. I have no use for them

Hi Dale here is the link to the tape I ordered for John from amazon.
@@deborahdentith931 Thanks for the quick reply. I will give it a try.
Hi dale. Have you seen part 60. You can watch me making the copper tiles
@@Johnbuildsiconic Yes the video was really clear. You changed from individual tiles to rows of 4.What made you change your thinking? Are you happy with rows rather than individual tiles? Your result is great!
Hi dale, yes in the end it was easier to keep a row of four more level to the row above
👍
BTW: We have to go look for videos these days, Utube have turned off emails! 😣
That’s not great. UA-cam’s give no support for small channels
Where can I find these strips?
Hi mark. I made them myself from copper type

Sir, does it paper??
Hi I’m not sure what your asking ?
@@Johnbuildsiconic I asked about the coating material you used was it plain paper, or thin copper sheet
I used thin copper paper my friend
@@Johnbuildsiconic sir, does it resistent to water?
