- I have been waiting for this day since the Hilux arrived! And Bushtech have been involved in ROAM before it even began! They were involved in developing some new products for the Suzuki Jimny last year and now they are playing a massive roll in the Hilux build! Their drawer system and canopy will be the foundation of the Ultimate Hilux Overlander build, and be able to accomodate a water tank, 90L National Luna Fridge, Dual Battery system and all the additional storage and camping equipment I could possibly need!

Wow. The opportunity to see the craftsmanship of the people at Bushtech was fantastic. I knew about their products but I didn’t know about the assembly and the attention to detail. So important to promote SA businesses and invest in SA labour when building an over lander like this.

Absolutely love it so far. Especially dust proofing the tub. I remember ASW complaining about that, saying it's one of the biggest problems of ute's used for overlanding.

Excellent videography and edit. A lot of work, and it shows. By the way, grab a spray can of satin black and shoot the edges of the tailgate -- white no longer belongs!

I will say it again, I really like my Bushtech Canopy. Good choice.
I had the outside of the aluminium boxes covered in carpet (same as inside), and on the inside over the side door insulation. Works well with valcro canvas bags for those small items frequently used.
Better to do the alternator/solar wiring prior to sealing up the tub. Wasn't easy to remove it to get access.

We made sure to leave a port open for the cables for the NL-DC25 Box, I managed to run it all weekend just off solar in the meantime 👌🏻
@@RoamOverlanding Great stuff, hopefully I'll get my NL25DC solar algorithm update this week. You can ask Frans and Steven at NL for more info on the specific issue if you want. I'll leave it at that. Then I too can use my solar properly. Thank goodness for their warranty, great customer service from NL.

I actually snuck out to the bush this weekend, I didn’t do too much filming, I really needed a bit of a break. But I can confidently say this is going to be an incredible overlanding vehicle for sure!

Fantastic work and a great satisfied feeling to see that vehicle turned around. Eagerly waiting for how the roof tent, bumper work will shape up. I hope you are planning to get some flood lights in front? With all the weight you will carry in there it would be crucial to test the suspension on how much it will press the Hilux. Keep going. 👍👍
You and me both! Tomorrow I actually go put on the bumpers and the suspension should happen this week too, so some big episodes coming through for you guys soon!

I have been following your channel for some time. Can't wait for the next post. Several other over landing channels also keep me entertained. Thanks for all the detail and quality videos you are sharing with us. I am missing the pricing part. While looking at your channels I stop go to website to get more info spec and prices. In the case of Bushtech eg. The website is very silent 🤫 on prices even recommended retail prices.
But I really value what you are doing. I do camping and did some overlanding to neighboring counties. So looking at what you are doing I can keep on dreaming as overlanding takes lots of time and money 💰. Keep up the good work.
Hey Andre, thats for the feedback! So essentially alot of my partners dont show pricing online because they have dealer networks across the world, and each region has different pricing due to shipping and local tax differences etc. So to protect themselves from people saying "but I saw it here for R10,000" when the price in that area could be R20,000 etc. because of import duties, taxes and shipping costs

I definitely am, but more the small stuff. Once I have done a couple trips I will do a video talking about how I pack it and you'll see some of the stuff from the Jimbo
