Just a suggestion Adrian. You have much experience in overlanding and reviewing many products related to such. You should look into reviewing other vehicles especially 4x4s like ASPW. Would be nice to see what you think of them and help others in choosing a new car.
Been Runnimg At3s on my fj for the last 3 year, out every weekend on the dunes and they run rings around the st, stt pro and ko2. They are probably the best tyers for soft sand because of the softer side walls and lighter weight and can run really low psi. Would not take risks on rocky terain though.
I have been running AT3's for the last 6 years on my 100 series cruiser and never had a puncture, they have been all over Australia rocks/sand and mud they work well.
Love the wheel choice, they go really well with the build. I'm not personally a fan of Cooper tyres, as my experience with them and the ones they manufacture under other brands (like the ProComp MT2) I have found they only work until around 50% treadwear, at which point they become dangerously slippery on wet roads, and useless on rocks, almost as if they have a completely different rubber compound in the lower half of the tread blocks.
To me that sounds like aging of tyres . All brands have a shelf life. I find that rotating the tyres at 5000 kilometres and correct pressure s has got my tyres down to 70 percent wear but then they are old and hard and chip out so replace them at that time.
@@freakyaussy I do around 25,000km per year, my tyres don't last long enough for age to be a factor (yes, I do check the manufacture date when I purchase them).
