- I installed a @designenginc Heat Shield Insulation Kit on my 2022 Indian Chieftain. Very simple from the insulation side...taking the front heat shield off wasn't a lot of fun but that's ones on me. GREAT PRODUCT!

That is an interesting product. The Harleys do run hot until you get that catalytic converter out of the head pipes...then much cooler running. Thanks RJ for sharing this. Ride safe.

Never thought about the F3's having the heat at your feet area. My 21' Spyder RTL doesn't really have any areas with significant heat. The 15' Spyder RTS had heat around the glove box area, but it was tolerable. Had a GSXR years ago that was like an oven...
It would roast my left ankle mostly when I had shorts on. Yeah my GSXR was hot too but the Ultra Classic we had was horrible. Were you out riding yesterday? I thought I saw you in Statesville.
Interesting! I hate removing and installing heat shields….I alway slice a finger. I didn’t know this product exists. I get a lot of heat now that I’m running the stock head pipes on the ultra from the cat. Gonna look into this. Thanks for sharing RJ!

Can you provide me with updates on the reduced heat from the catalytic converter also, I’m on again off again Jeep guy myself. I had a gladiator Mojave and I really loved it but with grandkids or wife and a dog it was pretty tight.
The heats shield insulation makes a significant difference. And a really good update for the price. I know what you mean on the Jeep. I bought a used 2011 F-150 to beat around with and for more space. I drive the Jeep less and less anymore but plan to keep it. Wife has the last year beetle and our daughter just announced g’baby #2 on the way. Probably have to get wife an suv of some type soon.
It looks like a reputable company so it should reduce the temperature as advertised but ….. you need to take it for a spin to confirm it. Nice video RJ ! Tomorrow is Saturday so …. It is riding time

They make a lot of them…even for HD’s.
@@602North just between you and me don't tell anybody else but just between you and me I feel like it's kind of lazy engineering that they make you press it out into the heat shield yourself. They could have a computer running a press that stamps that out based on make and model pretty easy. It would be interesting though to take a meat thermometer and test the heat shield before and after. I know Becky's bike gets crazy hot right in that area. I have long legs and I can feel it with long legs so her little tiny scrawny skinny puny girly legs are a victim to having to touch it whether she wants to or not. She has to wear a heat guard on her leg under her jeans. I feel like that's lazy on Indian's part to make something that has this beautiful form but barely usable function. It's probably a good thing I don't have Superman powers cuz I would probably be flying around the world grabbing engineers and giving them a spanking.
