I personally play SoD to relax / chill with friends and to escape from retail where I do CE raiding, now that they are intentionally making the difficulty harder, it has just completely made me not want to play this phase. If I wanted to play something challenging I’d just stay playing retail…

I started playing wow in december last year for the first time, I got into a raid EVERY SINGLE RESET after I hit 25. You must really suck or be really undergeared if you really cant get into a raid, sorry.
I'm done WoW and mmos for good. I played wotlk classic and quit after Ulduar when i saw how toxic the parsing environment had become. SoD looked interesting but again it got infected with the same toxic parsing community. Even so i still had fun in phase 1. Phase 2 sucked and now phase 3 was the final nail in the coffin. I'm 32 and I've decided I'm not gonna spend the rest of whatever life i have left playing the same shit over and over again. I'm taking up a second job to make money so that i can go to college in fall and do something else with my life. I'll still play games casually but no more games that require me to be consistently logging in or risk falling behind. I'll always have great memories of the original Vanilla-Legion but I'm done with Blizzard, they no longer know how to make a good game.
I'm waiting for AI to be so good to just play something like Wow alone at my own pace with fake people. Mostly because I just want to pause at any time tbh
Parsing only exists because there's no in built MMR system to filter bad players who don't do mechanics and use a sub optimal rotation leading to low dps which drags the whole raid down.
i played wow on US servers and toxicity was so rare to me. i was just lucky. i felt that US servers are less toxic but appears i was just unlucky when i played on russian servers cuz they just kicked me out of LFG after i said something normal
Nightmare incursions broke the matrix for me the same way Firelands dailies did in 2011. WoW just isn't fun, and it's obvious when the huge world shrinks down to 1 zone loops.

The community has ruined Sod. If you aren't playing a meta class and have logs you will spend 30 minuntes BARE MINIMUM trying to even find a chance to TRY the content. Then you'll get impatient bastards that complain if you even wipe once and will threaten to drop group. Sod has basically become a discount buggy version of raid logging simulator :/
The sad part is, it's all projection. I played warrior and rogue P2 and had pre-bis gear, spending 30 mins to join groups. By the time I got into a group, I was essentially always parsing top of the raid or damn near. It's literally just shitters who find their 2 button class so difficult they can't imagine anyone else being better than them and making enough of a difference on the dps. Not to mention none of this matters because 10 below average players with patience will still easily clear gnomer, and probably ST too after nerfs.
I got denied for gnomer for DAYS then finally a chill group let me in and i laughed at how easy was the raid was. It's sad what the wow community has become.
The rainbow generator Trinket was a quest from Felwood. Can't remember exactly when- but it was very early game. I remember doing it around the time I took a group to get the first cool pet- Sprite Darter. I kept it in my bank for years for use in Ironforge / SW. Later they turned it into a toy. Still have the original in my bank. Still have my Sprite Darter, too. Also with Lava Swimming - FR was a numbers and gear game. You can play the mechanics all you want, but there is definitely some number crunching to go along with it. "Safe spot" in BRD- pillar shelf surrounded by lava and fire elementals LOL
My favorite part is having people doing repeatable quests, making 1000s of gold off a new phase event, and bursting to level to 50 in a few hours the first day.

as a masssive druid fan the nightmare stuff is what brought me to sod when it first got released the thought of going into the emerald dream and having new druid stuff to explore is really a Win even though some of the quests can be bugged by assholes and its not perfect they tried it and im satisficed hopefully they only improve it more

Agreed. I just unsubbed and uninstalled. I've decided to take up a second job and grind more money so i can go to college in fall and do something else with my life. Tired of wasting time doing repetitive content and standing around cities getting denied by groups who want 95 parses for every raid.

Why can’t people understand about gear that it’s meant for the next tier not the current one. Having to gear out entirely in the gear the current raid drops means that at that rate after two tiers u content woll be close to a point were it won’t be mathematically possible or the bloat of stats will be on par with expansions instead of patches. Hard content is one thing nerfing a 50 boss more hp then the 40 man end boss of MC has in total is nuts

I'm new to WoW & I like the pace of SoD, it gives me time to grind it out but still go to work & play other games. Personally, Sunken Temple would NEVER get done by my groups LOL but I also don't want to 100% the game, so if it doesn't drop a good Mage-Healer item then it's just a waste of time imo.

Nobody just wants hard bosses. People want fun and challenging mechanics that require cooperation. That's how WoW raiding became good in the first place. It's easy to see because every time a new "hard boss" comes out that's just a high dps check is when people start complaining the hardest.

Meanwhile retail releases Heroic and Mythic raids that are very challenging (especially Mythic obviously). Genuine question, I don't really understand why anyone plays classic wow for any above average challenge. I've played FPS games and other high skill pvp games like SSBM my whole life so my context coming into classic is that as a mostly new player, EVERYTHING is easy and that's fine.

They really should have an NPC or interactable, that offers the difficulty challenge that the sweaty .2% of players in the top guilds are looking for. No loot, and charge a gold entry fee. Its just straight up braggint rights. Attach a feat of strength to it. Then make the rest of the game a difficulty that most can enjoy.

Well another point is that if you actually watch the people who were progressing on Shade, they were literally super uncoordinated. Healers overlapping, just placing the boss in the middle of the room, no proper spread of classes within groups, not giving tanks auras or totems, and numerous other problems. I mean if you go watch the world first Shade kill they had all those down tight and played well. While the bosses should of been nerfed, a lot of these "hardcore" classic players are also dense as hell which while isn't the entire problem, it is definitely a large portion of it.
I came back to play SoD, and strictly in a casual sense the game is quite fun. You get to level up through classic with a lot less of the monotony of the game because of the runes and the xp boosts. Very enjoyable level up experience. The raid remakes are cool as well, although I haven't done one yet they do look fun to try out. The only thing I have a major gripe with is the nightmare incursions. I tried one yesterday, and did get like 3/4 of a level of xp, but it is the only time that I have been playing the game that I have noticed SoD felt like "new" WoW. Everyone is in groups but nobody actually playing the game together. They are forced into groups to share quests, and if nobody needed those quests they would just run around and grab their quest items alone. They could definitely get better with time once the part of the population who is only interested in capping as fat as humanly possible stop doing them, but for right now they feel soulless and nothing like the rest of the SoD experience. Still having a great time with the game overall, but you won't find me doing any more emerald portals for a while.
Watching asmon wiping in Gnomer in phase 3, at 50 with every possible advantage that comes with being a streamer whilst pulling low dps has made me question his wow credentials.
Still waiting for Classic Hard mode. People go crazy over having a raid that initially requires at least a bit of progression, then Blizzard nerfs it to a cake run.
I just think you need options. Let the player have agency. If someone wants to run legendary elden ring darksouls 3 bloodborne giga champ mode then yeah sure let that be in the game. But the base game should have a normal difficulty where most people can get on chill out and have fun. And at the top tiers of the game leaderboards, titles, cosmetic rewards should be what differs not amount of %rng loot or worse better loot. People game because they want to have fun.
Just found out that you have to pay 90 Dollers for the war within expansion if you wanna play day one, otherwise you will have to wait 3 days for the "49.99" normal edition.... Fucking Blizzard. Even made a notice of this on the community forum resulting in an near immediate delete of post and now i cant post there anymore. Was looking forward to the Xpac, but imma never playing wow ever again. Damn i hate this.
They did that with Diablo 4(which had a race and it was dumb).In general it it wouldnt really matter for retail WoW as the raid is not released right?Playing around others doesnt feel the same like classic/SoD so while i agree its just money grabbing it doesnt matter as much.
You better try out Project Epoch, the true Vanilla+ experience. It's on it's 3th open beta right now. Project Epoch is a Classic+ style server aiming to introduce new and altered content to the vanilla world. Brand new dungeons, completely revamped old dungeons, new raids, over 1100 new quests, new areas in the world, hundreds of new items, large reworks of professions, the classes spells/talents are in tbc state, npc's got new voice acting, and so much more.
Its not f2p tho. You still need a sub to play. There will be no "new" players. Retail andys get bored pushing 3800 for title and decide to play a fun server.

I wouldn't say it's bad as in concept but it beats dungeon spam (honestly I love this as dungeon spam puts me to sleep) and questing by a shit ton. In my guild we had 2 people do excursions and hit lv 50 while the dungeon spammers were at 45-46 and me being someone who vibes out while questing was 44. My guild ended day one with people who did new event at lv 50 and if they continued playing with alts with almost another lv 50 dungeon spammers at 47-48 and then me a quester ended at 45
I've never agreed with asmond 100% of the time, but I agree with what he said at the start. It's a level up raid, this is a dad game, classic has always been easy and laid back. Casual people are just very quiet and never say how they feel, but they'll stop playing the game if it isn't enjoyable. The content was "hard" during 2004 because people were bad, internet sucked, computers sucked, and we couldn't share knowledge like we can now. How can a level up boss have the same hp as patchwerk, when we would've had aq40 gear and naxx gear, 10 more levels and better skills, world buffs, and twice the people.
The raid does need to be harder than say a classic raid without runes and the new gear at that lv due to power increase but I do agree it's overtuned way to much 1.3 mil health nerf whattttt lol

i played the first 10 jears of wow as a priest and 2 month ago i played classic lichking, it was a total joke compare to how it was in the past, every trash mob gets aoe and at the boss i didnt even was needed as a healer, they made it so easy that it made my sad not to have the same task like it was in the past...items are stronger a.o. bosses are to weak and go down fast, no clue how it is on retails right now but it looks the same...
@@bogdanleviWhy don't they just raid in retail then? There is literally 0 precedent for hard bosses in any iteration of classic. Meanwhile retail releases Heroic and Mythic raids that are very challenging (especially Mythic obviously). Genuine question, I don't really understand why anyone plays classic wow for any above average challenge. I've played FPS games and other high skill pvp games like SSBM my whole life so my context coming into classic is that as a mostly new player, EVERYTHING is easy and that's fine.
@@yScribblezHD I play retail but the expansion is over. Ye classic isn't known for hard fights but sod is new. Why not make the raids hard for the first weeks while the average Joe's are still level 43.

The new emerald crap is retail shit that made people stop play the game. There's no chanse in hell someone with a job and family can spend the time to grind the rep needed for must have gear and runes. It's the no ending grinding in retail that made people stop play the game. Really stupid thing to add. I dont have a job nor family to think about, and even I feel I dont have time to waste grinding all the crap needed.
They really should have an NPC or interactable, that offers the difficulty challenge that the sweaty .2% of players in the top guilds are looking for. No loot, and charge a gold entry fee. Its just straight up braggint rights. Attach a feat of strength to it. Then make the rest of the game a difficulty that most can enjoy.

Well another point is that if you actually watch the people who were progressing on Shade, they were literally super uncoordinated. Healers overlapping, just placing the boss in the middle of the room, no proper spread of classes within groups, not giving tanks auras or totems, and numerous other problems. I mean if you go watch the world first Shade kill they had all those down tight and played well. While the bosses should of been nerfed, a lot of these "hardcore" classic players are also dense as hell which while isn't the entire problem, it is definitely a large portion of it.
Leveling wasn't ruined, it was improved, just ask Preach.

I came back to play SoD, and strictly in a casual sense the game is quite fun. You get to level up through classic with a lot less of the monotony of the game because of the runes and the xp boosts. Very enjoyable level up experience. The raid remakes are cool as well, although I haven't done one yet they do look fun to try out.
The only thing I have a major gripe with is the nightmare incursions. I tried one yesterday, and did get like 3/4 of a level of xp, but it is the only time that I have been playing the game that I have noticed SoD felt like "new" WoW. Everyone is in groups but nobody actually playing the game together. They are forced into groups to share quests, and if nobody needed those quests they would just run around and grab their quest items alone. They could definitely get better with time once the part of the population who is only interested in capping as fat as humanly possible stop doing them, but for right now they feel soulless and nothing like the rest of the SoD experience.
Still having a great time with the game overall, but you won't find me doing any more emerald portals for a while.
Watching asmon wiping in Gnomer in phase 3, at 50 with every possible advantage that comes with being a streamer whilst pulling low dps has made me question his wow credentials.

I just think you need options. Let the player have agency. If someone wants to run legendary elden ring darksouls 3 bloodborne giga champ mode then yeah sure let that be in the game. But the base game should have a normal difficulty where most people can get on chill out and have fun. And at the top tiers of the game leaderboards, titles, cosmetic rewards should be what differs not amount of %rng loot or worse better loot.
People game because they want to have fun.
rather have no PTR and OP bosses than have PTR and balanced bosses on day1-3

Because it's so good, it has basically replaced doing dungeons or questing. Way too much exp for it.
I wouldn't say it's bad as in concept but it beats dungeon spam (honestly I love this as dungeon spam puts me to sleep) and questing by a shit ton. In my guild we had 2 people do excursions and hit lv 50 while the dungeon spammers were at 45-46 and me being someone who vibes out while questing was 44. My guild ended day one with people who did new event at lv 50 and if they continued playing with alts with almost another lv 50 dungeon spammers at 47-48 and then me a quester ended at 45
I've never agreed with asmond 100% of the time, but I agree with what he said at the start. It's a level up raid, this is a dad game, classic has always been easy and laid back. Casual people are just very quiet and never say how they feel, but they'll stop playing the game if it isn't enjoyable. The content was "hard" during 2004 because people were bad, internet sucked, computers sucked, and we couldn't share knowledge like we can now. How can a level up boss have the same hp as patchwerk, when we would've had aq40 gear and naxx gear, 10 more levels and better skills, world buffs, and twice the people.
The raid does need to be harder than say a classic raid without runes and the new gear at that lv due to power increase but I do agree it's overtuned way to much 1.3 mil health nerf whattttt lol
