I got the Griest #10. It is the same color as yours but it doesn't touch the fabric when the presser foot is lowered. I put down pressure as far as it would go, but it still does not move the material. Do you know of any adjustments i could make to ensure that is will work as there are no returns on this Griest. It looks brand new and lovely.
Do you have a low shank machine? Or some low shank attachments. I would be interested to know if someone mislabelled it as a short shank as high shank. The only other way is to loosen the screw on the presser foot bar and lower it -- this is easy to do, but it is odd that you should need to do that.
EBay but you will have to put search criteria on there to tell you when one comes up. You can also put high shank machines, necchi machines but make sure that they are the Mira Nora BU high shank ones.
Hi James - Thanks so much for posting this. Wondering: have you ever tried a Y- Star buttonholer on this machine? Also, is this Greist attachment relatively easy to set up on the Juki? Thanks!
Yes I think that I have tried a Y star buttonholer -- but I do not recall if it was a high shank version. And yes the Greist attachment is very easy to set up.
I purchased the #10 Griest Buttonholer and I see how it works, but the fabric clamp will not sit on the fabric, it only sits up about an inch off the fabric but will not clamp down. Any suggestions? Any adjustment that can be made to the Griest attachment?
I just ordered a #10 Greist for my 2010. Thank you so much for showing how it works. Great information!
Where did you order the #10 Greist?

What is the serial number of the Griest buttonholer you've used in this demonstration? Thank you.
What is the serial number on the bottom of the buttonholer?

Which machine are you using it on? It sounds like perhaps you have been sent the short shank version instead of the high shank.
My machine,juki 8700.can or not?
If it is high shank, yes.
