Man I'm sorry that the stuff you really want/need to do sometimes doesn't do well, especially with all the hard work. It may not mean much but I think it makes us appreciate it all the more.
As a fellow r/NoMoreHeroes dude who was scrambling to figure out stuff around release week, I was pretty hyped to interact with you on the sub and now see this! Got my sushi ready for viewing. I-TA-DA-KI-MASU! P.S. That rap was amazing!
Matt McMuscles did a video on this game that i really enjoyed, but seeing a game get The Completionist treatment is an entirely different, usually wonderful way of gaining a unique view of the same game, this is Awesome. 😄👍
Suda did actually make it official recently that he now has the rights to Flower, Sun and Rain, The Silver Case, Killer is Dead and Shadows of the Damned. All he needs now is Killer 7, Lollipop Chainsaw and No More Heroes for his Sudaverse to truly come into fruition.
The first two weren't that bad. No More Heroes 3 was just really bullshit for 100% completion. It practically was designed to be extremely unachievable and unfun to do. But as long as you avoid death chips and challenges that don't actually net you rewards.. I mean it's still hard, but it's a blast!! Completing bosses on death is really rewarding!
We made the song for the sushi stand, "ITADAKIMASU" with our friend MEEBEE a.k.a. KAZUHIRO ABO and we just wanted to say that this video is amazing, along with your song at the end 🔥🔥 Joint was fire and so are you yo. Stay positive and drink plenty of water ❤
This game was a joy to play. One of the best in the series and great send off to one of the most legendary video game characters ever. Thank you Suda-san.
19:40 What I love about the "F#%k r@ci$m" is that it's unlocked after he and Sylvia have a conversation about human decency "You see someone fall down you pick them up." It also goes way deeper than you think. Take a look at GhenryPerez's vid on it and you can see its real life connections.
I loved this game (especially that climax) and I only finished 1 and 2 on Switch a few months before 3 came out but became hooked as a fan. Just recently added Travis Strikes Again to my collection.
I think this review is absolutely spot on. You clearly have a love for Suda's ideas which I share but don't let him off the hook for the often shoddy execution. I think what he needs is a decent budget and a skilled partner to co-direct the games and keep him focused. In particular, I think the combat in his beat'em up games could use more time in the oven. The underrated Killer Is Dead comes closest to what I would hope for. (LET IT DIE is pretty good, too.)
Jirard, your ability/drive to complete games is amazing even 10 years later. Never stop rocking, man! Also, you gotta complete Shadows of the Damned. We need the ridiculous sentient bone gun in our lives.
I've been looking forward to this episode for a long while. No More Heroes 3 is my game of the year, and I know how much you love Suda51 games. This should be a great watch.
What a comparison. and good taste in ramen. Well then since Suda loves Miike so much and he is the David Lynch of the orient, maybe Kaufman and Lynch need to do something together.
Would love to see more on Shadows of the Damned. It's one of my personal favorites from the 360 and anything from a sequel to a reimagining/take on the original pitch would be wonderful. Knowing he possibly got the rights back is great news! Just hope it won't be a switch exclusive
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 I'm curious if suda will do something with the existing universe of shadows or do something more in the style of kurayami (his original concept for the game that was scrapped by EA). I'm honestly down for whatever suda wants to make.
The No More Heroes videos are some of my favorites. Seeing the banter between Suda51 and Jirard is awesome and I can't wait to see the next game by Suda51 that Jirard has to complete.
technically the designs aren't his doing, but it is great they got the original main designer back for the regular characters, then used a master of 'pop art' for the aliens giving them a totally alien flavor, and THEN had the Poptepipic people animate the insane Velvet Chair Girl cutscene.. and so on
The incredible work put into this video let alone completing No More Heroes, is insane and deserves more praise than I think any of us are capable are giving. Hopefully you and Suda51 are good buddies. And even if this isn’t one of the better performances for the channel, it’s still an incredible send off to Travis Touchdown. Thank you Jirard.
Just finished this one today, which I wanted to do before watching your video for the sake of spoilers and whatnot. I’m a big fan of this series and I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said about this game! The whole series is full of moments that are weird, or even bad, but when it hits those highs there’s no other games like it!
If it truly is a goodbye to Travis, then I am happy with the end of his tale. It's definitely got some issues as Jirard highlights, but I still love the Garden of Madness.
Yeah this is how you complete a trilogy with four games that took 14 years. This is how you do it, man. Everything I wanted, I got, and everything else I got was a complete surprise. No lingering regrets, nothing unfinished, just the perfect sendoff.
Love how honest your reviews are. You explain the major serious flaws of this game but still it is clear that you enjoyed parts of the experience. Well done!
Never in my life did I think Ultraman would be mentioned in a Completionist video...I'm here for it and feel once again I've made a great choice in this community. Also glad to see RNJesus finally smiled on Jirard so he could finish completing this game.
That video was amazing as ever, Jirard. The special surprises throughout were a treat, and I won't spoil em here, so folks can enjoy em fresh. I wish I could pick up a copy of this game immediately, if I had the funds, because boy howdy it looks like a damn blast. As for your question about ramen. . . Well, I've basically never had fresh ramen, just instant, so I guess my answer is the classic beef flavor, though I'd love to eat some real, genuine fresh beef broth ramen someday. If this truly is the end of No More Heroes, then my hat is off to you, Suda-san. You're one hell of a talent, and I look forward to your future creations. Always stay you, good sir.
The okumura brothers actually replied to my comment on the sushi song. (the vid's deleted but that will always be in my heart forever and it was awesome to see them reply.) The music's top notch and an absolute golden memory for me.
Basic Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup Chicken Flavor, nearly boiling all the water away with only just enough left over to mix in the Flavor packet. Perfect Ramen. I also sometimes add some Scrambled eggs. Also nice video, I haven’t played a lot of Suda games (Let It Die and the first No More Heroes are all I’ve played) but I love the aesthetic and badass attitude. Seeing you complete them is like seeing someone take the time to do what I always wish I had the time to do. Also really awesome how these game creators go about challenging you.
I bought this game at launch but made sure I finished the previous 3 games before I even touched it. I finished it yesterday and it was so so worth it to play the others first.
Loved this game. I always took it as an MCU type project, which I suppose explains the non-existent narrative entry point for beginners. You're rewarded for keeping up with the NMH universe prior to 3 and you're also teased with a lotta unrelated enigmas that will (hopefully) get explained in future Grasshopper titles.
Shoyu ramen is best ramen 😋 The amount of love and care both in the NMH series and your completion of them is super evident. Thank you for sharing them with us!
The MOMENT he said about game being new, and no new information was available triggered the 80s PTSD in me. Games were hard as hell back then without it
Ok Jirard seriously! why do your intros have to be more and more awesome with years! seriously That opening scene wow! review was amazing too as always ^^

Picked a switch for NMH3 mostly and finished two weeks ago on bitter diff in about 20 hours? It has it's problems in the open world and exploration and from Suda's standpoint I know why it's like this but as a gamer who is NMH hungry, yes it lacked. I loved the battles and the scenario characters even more. The night before i started NMH3 i finished TSA on PS4 so everything were fresh to me. I don't know if it's the end of Travis's journey as he can continue for a game at least but i wanna say a big THANK YOU to grasshoper and suda's mind for making this game a reality. it is indeed the best one in the series. i fucking loved these battles. I fucking died when the rythm game started and i shitted my pants from happiness when he switched in 1st person view in that school. For a fan it was a dream come true this game. Thank you. Great video and song Jirard. You deserve way more for the content you give us
I’m amazed at your willpower; I finished everything else and tried grinding those purple materials for dozens of hours but eventually I caved and moved onto other games. I want infinite battery and all that cool stuff but like you said in the vid: by the time I finally get it, I’ll long have mastered everything in the game.
Night in Prauge is a sad vibe, thanks to Suda and his team at Grasshopper Manufacture for this series, and I can't wait to see what they got cooking next.
I just want the next game to have us fight ALL the characters we DIDNT get to fight in past games. Helter Skelter, Pre Doctor Letz Shake, Dark Star, Black Knight Direction, Vanishing Point, Sniping Lee, Paradox Bandit, Velvet Chair girl (an actual fight not just musical chairs lol) I mean that's 8 characters we didn't get to fight really.
I'm glad that I got to play through the most badshit crazy series in gaming. I hope that doesn't mean the end of No More Heroes, but I enjoyed every minute of it!
