For people who want their locs to be as thick as possible low maintenance is key. Constantly twisting, palm rolling, styling etc etc will compact the hair in the locs over time resulting in a skinnier look.

So question … If I’m 4 months in & as we speak have barrel twist in , my hair isn’t long I’ve been growing it in all for about 10 months I started with coils. Can I 2 strand twist when I twist out & achieve thicker locs ?

Semi-freeform is how long you go without retwisting(ususaly more than 3 months, 3 months being the minimum while 1 yr can be the maximum) and that you still keep up with maintaining your parts, while Freeformers don’t section their hair at all and just wash it when needed. However, I kinda understand what you meant by your question because you do have traditional locs that are too big to be micro or sister locs which are non traditional and you don’t have full free form locs. I also would say that the size of your locs are medium/large and thick.

I been on my loc journey ⭐️ for 3 years and 5 months and I tell you it’s definitely a process it was many times where I wanted to cut mines but now I embrace my locs and love them also had to learn that everybody locs are not going to be the same just like a fingerprint

#1 great videos as usual but have you ever had to deal with lint or product build up early on in your loc journey? Love the context and the energy from your videos are always such a dope vibe. 💯🤟🏾
Aww thank you!! Honestly I didn't have a lint problem until more recently and it doesn't really bother me so I haven't sought solutions buuuuut product build up only happened once and when it did I did a ACV soak with acv, lemon juice, baking soda and water! If you don't want to do a diy version you can get a detox bomb (I did a video on one that was great)!

Feel like I'm going into semi free forming accidentally due to lazyness 😂 used to strictly retwist every 3-4 weeks but now I wash and just separate without retwisting sometimes cause though I have 88 loc's, they be thic thic lol

Beautiful locs, btw I'm new to your channel, very informative ☺️ I am 3 years into my 2nd set, and the hardest thing I am dealing with is cotton and debris, pet hair🤦🏾♀️ getting stuck in it. I have tried to cover them while I sleep no matter how tight it comes off, so do have any tips please.

Question so I have thick hair as well and I just started mines but I have 50 Locs and they aren’t that big in size, overtime will they swell and become more full looking ? Or do I need to break some down so I can have more
Honestly I’m not quite sure buuut I would check out my 2 year loc visual so you can see how tiny mine appeared at first and maybe that’ll help you gauge 🥺
Overtime they should swell a little bit..
My locs doubled in size after a year loced. The bigger the parts the potentially bigger the locs will be. Super tiny parts will make a ton of tiny locs. But ultimately density will determine how chunky your locs will be. I have 160ish locs and they started as pencil size and now they are sharpie marker size. I hope this helps!!

My hair has started locking up which is good I'm about three months in now. However, I'm having an issue.
My roots tangle up frequently, how do I deal with this? I don't want to pop them every week and cause damage.
I suffer from dry scalp, I do oil regularly with black castor oil and tea tree which does help. But I'm afraid what's happening recently is that some of the flakes have started to get stuck in the loc. I don't want to pick it out and undo the process. I tried an apple cider vinegar rinse, it's worked WONDERS but not nearly enough as I still have some stuff there and it made my hair a little greasy and dusty, dry feeling.
I usually wash my hair every 2-3 weeks. But ahhhhhh I'm not sure what to do 😭😭

Ahh gotcha!! honestly that's natural and as long as you're moisturizing before popping and making sure to look at the locs as you're doing the process you won't damage your hair!

When you first started your locs with two strand twist did you use rubber bands on the ends. Also did they unravel.
