Make a video of you putting these models against the Leatherman counter parts in hard use situations to see if they can compete as “competitors” in the same arena.
I have bought SwissTech 18 in 1 about 2 months ago I am very dissapointed by its quality. Some tools are way too loose, while others very stiff. Some locks dont work properly. The main blade out of the box was very dull, after sharpening it dosnt hold sharpness very long. The used steel is not a great one I suppose. I had Leatherman Wave+ and few Nextool multitools and after testing SwissTech I realised how good those multitools are. I have bought a Shall multitool lastly and the quality of it is much better also than the SwissTech.
I opened a can of Hunt's Garlic and Onion tomato sauce for tortellini pasta, last night with the Leatherman Arc. I've opened a number of cans with the "free series" can opener. It's a nice addition to the Leatherman Arc and one of my favorite implements.
I have had the bibury surge cloan for about 6 - 8 months, bought it on a flash sale on Amazon and the thing has hold up to some decent abuse, so far well worth the 30 EUR I paid, came with the holder, the bits, extra saws, and extra wire cutters. I have zero complains. Sure the leathernan version is lighter in weight, but also about 7 times more expensive l, especially here in europe.
Gonna sound a bit strange, but since you can buy replacement leatherman blades can you not simply buy the cheaper tool and then install the nicer blades? Probably save yourself a few dollars. Still trying to get my dad to actually take his DL30 out of the box but, along with his arkfeld pro and several other Christmas presents, they're just acting as paperweights. Also going to see if the utility blade addon for the phantom (or another, cheap, liner lock utility knife) can replace one of the knives (Australian knife laws are somewhat bunkum).
I can't think of any Leatherman product that has replacement blades for sale through Leatherman. Leatherman doesn't sell any replacement parts aside from parts for the MUT, Replaceable wire cutters, or pocket clips.
The Leatherman blades on ebay taken from original tools might fit but usually these clones have a slightly different pivot size hole than Leatherman. That could be a huge issue. Not sure since I haven't tried it yet.
@@hvacbudget8600 I am honestly surprised that there isn't a private business or company that would likely make a killing by producing premium blade steel components for Leatherman and Victorinox customizers
@Cpt.BEARDless thy are not bibury is the same as the other cones and uses Chinese blade steels but rocktol uses German d2 or 3 don't remember of the top of my head but it's a toolsteel so it's much harder. That why rocktol tends to be more expensive unless it's on flash sales.

Good content. Thanks much.
Appreciate it!

That was my experience as well! This Swisstech 15 in 1 design has a lot of potential but it isn't there yet!

Would love to know which pocket tool you put on the Bibury! I love mine but hate it doesn’t have a clip. Even a fitting tutorial!
These Chinese tools do a good job of reinforcing the old saying, (You only get what you pay for)!
Soooo close to 10k!
Almost there!
And.....drum roll there!

Great to hear!
Maxlvledc sent me here!
Welcome!
MUT EOD is my preferred for EDC
If price was not a consideration, which MT would you recommend?
I'll do a short tonight about it. Basically Victorinox Spirit and Swisstool, and the Leatherman Surge or Charge.
Is the surge clone bibury, better than the wave clone (30£) version overall ? Or it just has more tools and build quality is the same ?
Just made a short video to answer your question. Basically they are pretty much all the same except colors and maybe some are marginally better steel.
thanks a lot for the answer@@hvacbudget8600

ROCKTOL Uses better blade steel . thanks for the share ! stay awesome!
Thanks! Good tip.
What about vs BIBURY..are they not the exact same tools just different branding?

@ramsessilent awesome, I'll have to check them out! Thanks for the info.
Rocktool says their blades on the surge and wave clones is 7cr17 hrc56-58. Exact same as the Bibury. They say this on their website and on amazon.
Nice 👌
What is the model of the Bibury and how much the cost? Thx!
There's a link to it in the description.
