Well done Terri, there is no substitute for listening (and watching via UA-cam) to the words of wisdom, experience and knowledge in action. Your commentary as always explains in great detail the actions involved, and the reasons, that is also important, easy to say .. do this .. do that .. but the why is an important part of learning. Well done, I will eventually understand dual rate .. still a bit of a strange concept .. I don't know why ?? hehe
Well done Terri you have explained the set up procedure so that even a dinosaur like me can understand how to do it. Excellent, I will be using the video for reference when the time comes with my build. Cheers,Pete.
Well Teri, you are Wilde. Thank you very much for the video, explanation is second to none. I finally have my Grand hauler all worked out and working amazing. Like Peter said,I'm also a dinosaur lol. 🦕
Hi. I went through the set up (my first MFC-01) as per your instruction. Great My situation is, that as I go through the motions with the sticks, the truck turns off as soon as I activate one. Any suggestions//?
if it shuts down when you move the steering then the issue would be the servo. the MFC do not like HV, Hi-Torque and very cheap servos, I always use a standard 4.5kg Futaba servo such as the S3003 or the newer Futaba S-U300.
Hello Terri great review! but just noticed that your tx is the same model as mine FSi6X and your left gimbal is in the centre position and has a spring load to it mine hasn't??? Puzzled help!!!

Hi Terry, your videos are a great help, I have FRSKY Taranis transmitter and I am hoping this will be the same procedure. Have you used a FRSKY transmitter with Open TX and setup a MFC with it?
I haven't used a FRSKY before. The set up should be the same and the Dual Rate should be set at 75% - 100% for the two channels that control J6 and J7. It's always good to identify which Channels are operated by the Sticks because I found that they can vary between brands.
@@TeriWilde Thanks Teri, I am still getting my head around the FRSKY and Open TX. It does look very similar to what you have done on your TX. I have MFC's in most of my trucks and I use a DX6i but I recently bought a FRSKY Taranis. I have got my head around using it and I think I am now at a point where i can programme it ETC. I set up a Beier SFR1 using SBUS so I must be doing something right. Anyway I want to swap all my trucks over too FRSKY and that search led me to your videos. I cant tell you how much they have helped even when I was setting up the DX6i. Keep up the good work, I think most people out there will be lost without them.
Hi Terri, do you have any idea why there is no actions (engine sound) after i powered MFC03? Totally follow up your instructions to set up controller and channels.
@brandonyin3288 providing you have plugged J4 J5 J6 and J7 and calibrated the radio to yhe MFC... after you hear the initial start-up beeps when you power it on, you need to pull down on the left stick to Start the engine.
@@TeriWilde I plugged those connectors following controller set-up and plugged my shift servo to my CH5, which is under control after power up. But i don’t hear beep after powered MFC-03. Is it possible that my MFC is broken? is there any way i could refresh its firmware?
When I power the truck up. The transmission turns very slow in the idle stage an control sticks are in center position. Don't know what to do to fix that
You would need to Bind your transmitter with the receiver with all sticks and switches in neutral position. If your using a esc you need to calibrate it so it knows you neutral and end points. The MFC needs to be calibrated also.
No, the 1/14 trucks kits only come with a motor, unless you buy a package deal, and then you'd only gey the cheapest options. You're always going to be better off buying good servos and radio separately.

Hi Ray... the first thing you need to do is bind your receiver to your radio with all switches and sticks in the neutral position, that would be knows as Fail Safe. then go thought the calibration process. Could you link a servo to a SWD for example too have it to work like a on off so you could have the fifth wheel so it could be open and close manually?
I thought is was a great video until you completely confused me with a 3rd servo. J7 is the shift servo, and you come at the end with ch6 for shift?? Makes no sense....
It makes perfect sense as you don't have the shift servo on the left stick, which you can move left or right slightly when using throttle...., I put it on a 3-way switch in Ch6 for a more positive gear change and it stays in gear.

Planet T5 and T7 radios seem popular but are very old tech, I would recommend upgrading to a digital radio that has dual rates.
