It's the standard formula, that's how it's been set out

Hi there. For Maths Lit yes. There are formulae that you can use, but they are not included in the Maths Lit. syllabus

It might - depending on the question. However if it doesn't say use a factor table, then calculate the final amount, divide by the number of repayments.

Yes you are correct. 8,50 is the same as 8,5, the question might not give all the decimal places that are shown in the loan factor table.
