Hey ma’am I have a question hopefully I get a response ..you used a diffrent sinple interest method may I ask why cause I used the 14025(1+8/100 x2) and gave me a different answer compared to yours of which this is the method of simple interest I know
Hey, so the formula you are using is the initial value plus the interest. The methodi im using is just calculating the interest on its own. If you add my interest value to the initial value you will get your answer.
For the last example where it asked What was the total interest paid ? I took the 22900 & subtracted cost of the painting which lead me to the same answer of 9400 . Am doing it wrong ?

The 22900 is the cost. Not sure what you've subtracted from that.

@@maths_monkey the person meant that since When calculating the total interest paid on a hire purchase, we need to find the extra amount of money paid beyond the cost of the item (in this case, the painting). This extra amount is the interest. so she said 22900-13500 and got the answer 9400. i did the same. Is that okay?

She calculated Monthly instalments so she used 24 months which is the duration of 2 years
She had to use 24 because it said calculate monthly so she had to convert the 2 years to 24 months
That is where 24 comes from
