Hi Mollie, Love, love, love your work. I have watched soooo many videos and read so many articles over the years on paint colors and undertones, but not one of them drove home your point about picking a gray (or presumably a white or a beige, if I am extrapolating correctly) with the undertone of the desired colour rather than a version of the hue itself, to achieve a soft and understated look, rather than being overwhelmed by the intensity of a version of the colour itself. I am also over the white cabinets throughout the entire home and definitely want to change my kitchen cabinets color. My husband probably thinks I am crazy at this point with all the changes we have made and ideas I have shown him. Lol. Thanks for the ideas Mollie.

We're going with Boothbay Gray on the kitchen cabinets to anchor a few other bolder colors in the kitchen. This is the first time I've used Benjamin Moore and I really like their color options.

I'm happiest with color on my walls. My first house was like a crayon box, yellow living room with huge crown mounding painted white, a terracotta red kitchen, a blue TV room, a green office. Only my bedroom was a soft tan color. Everyone that came over told me how happy the colors made them feel! Now in my second house I'm really feeling the pastel spectrum and will have light blue kitchen cabinets and I'm SO excited!!! Your homes are very very elegant and I enjoy watching the videos. But I want my home to feel whimsical, playful, cute and for anyone that walks in to just smile (like when you see a smiling baby 👶)!!!! 😂😂😂. I have a lot of cottage vibes that are going that help with the playfulness. 😋😉
Same. For the house we live in, we use actual colors. When we sold our last house, we repainted it be neutral (magazine-like) and it looked great, but it didn't feel like home anymore.

I love your videos and appreciate all the insights and examples!! I'm thinking of doing Duxbury gray for cabinets in my two-tone kitchen which gets lots of natural light. I also want to do a few cabinets in white... any tips on the shade of white I should go with? I'm thinking of doing revere pewter or something a bit lighter on the walls.

I love these colors. What color would look good in a mud room cabinets with east facing window/light? Brass hardware too and light natural wood bench. I’m having a hard time deciding what will hold a good shade in this room 😊

Hi Molly. Can I just ask you a design question please? I absolutely love the last kitchen in this video with the Gettysburg gray and the upper open shelving. I have a dilemma. I’ve already installed fantasy brown although the slabs I picked were predominantly white. I really love the white appliances with the bronze handles. I have not seen them at all with the fantasy brown🥺. I would love to get away from the stainless but the countertops you used for this design with white appliances were not fantasy brown. 🤷♂️. I really fell in love with the white appliances from this video. What do you think? Will they clash with the fantasy brown? I am thinking there must be a reason I cannot find this combination and any other videos. Thank you for your time. I love all your videos!! I think you are the best at what you do. 😊

Would "Kilim Beige " from Sherwin williams looks good on a baltic brown granite countertop? How hard is it to maintain the cabinets ?
Definitely over the all white kitchen. I’m building and just did a kitchen with greige perimeter and an urbane bronze island. Used brushed brass hardware with a polished nickel faucet. The Urbane Bronze is so gorgeous that I decided to use it on my built ins in the mud room and the walls of my powder room.

Thanks!! I think that combination sounds pretty and classic. I love matte black hardware but I would get samples of each of those and hold them against the stain to see what looks best. 😘

Haha, I have revere pewter on my walls! I love it! What do you recommend for a color I paint my kitchen cabinets that go well with revere pewter walls? I have your typical honey maple color which I’m so over. I was thinking white, but not like a stark white. Any recommendations? Thanks! Also I’ve got ceramic tile that I want to replace. I just want to go over it with either LVP or some kind of real wood that can go on top of tile. Do you have any recommendations, and/or favorite brands of LVP’s? Love all your tips! 💗
I just got a sample of that and reduced it by 75% and it’s still so dark! Looks nothing like what she showed in the video.

I’m redoing my kitchen and painting the perimeter white.. maybe the island too! Would love a video on your thoughts of white everywhere vs white oak island white perimeter vs walnut island white perimeter vs painted island white perimeter.. anyway, my question is should the white perimeter be the same white as my baseboards and trim white? I always thought you were supposed to do that but after seeing your video it’s made me think that’s not the case. Would love your help! I’m supposed to decide on the kitchen cabinetry ASAP! Thanks
I think it can be more interesting with mixing the stained and painted. If you want something really traditional then the all white does have that feel. What I would recommend is going through your Pinterest boards and seeing what you save the most of 😘

I haven’t found one that’s quite the same, but I do like Benjamin Moore’s China white that’s somewhat similar. Not quite as saturated on the color, but still kind of a soft greige

I have painted my kitchen a mid tone yellow. Not too light or dark. I am painting my cabinets white but the white is too bright and kind of harsh looking. I am going to tint the paint. Browns go well with yellow -as in light taupe or cream cabinets. But I also like grey with yellow as in a mid tone to darkish gray cabinets with the yellow paint. What are your thoughts??? Thanks. My kitchen is vintage and antique defiantly not modern. I have an old farm house and I like the French country motif. I have blue and a few red accents. Light grey white washed pergo floor. Thanks.

What color would you paint bedroom doors when the walls are a palest pale baby blue with bright white trim? I’d love to paint those doors with a very subtle color but I’m at a loss for ideas.
Gorgeous colors. But wow Pigeon looks so different in the photos you show. I guess it goes that light if a room gets a lot of natural light. I've seen Pigeon used in other rooms where it's much darker and I don't care for it as much. But I love it in the kitchens you showed!

I’ve already thought when you buy the cabinets you picked the color available from the cabinet maker. So we would buy unfinished cabinets and paint ourselves to get the look you have here?

What line of paint do you use when painting white cabinet so they don’t yellow over time??? Water, oil or hybrid??
Be sure to get a gloss finish made for cabinets. It allows them to be washable.

I love your content. As a photographer I found it hard to see the true colours as your photos are really blown out. So it was hard to judge the colours as you were discussing. Would recommend reducing your exposer a bit. :) love your suggestions. Thank you.
Thank you for this comment. Duxbury Gray has an LRV of 22 and Gettysburg Gray is 29; these are dark mid-tone colors. They might have had them lightened. These projects are too gorgeous not be shown in their full colors.
