- I wanted to create a minimal & clean kitchen with lots of natural light! The height in this space and the unique details with the open loft above created a lot of interest so I wanted to keep the kitchen itself more minimal. I love the natural stone wall and the oversized sconces. I designed the concrete island and had it built in place to add a unique element and material. I also created a plaster range hood design that connects the upper level to the main level and frames the 60” Italian range which anchors the kitchen. I still need to add a few finishing details but couldn’t wait to give you a peek at the space and the dining room as well!

The island is gorgeous! The stools look uncomfortable, no back support. But those windows above the sink ugh!!!!!!😩 they are absolutely beautiful! Your home looks like a dream honestly.

May I ask what the issue is with windows above the sink? I think it would make doing dishes a bit better to have so much of a view. Agree with you about the stools. They are beautiful, but less practical if using for longer periods of time. Back support is important, and personally I think it is more important than aesthetics.

Love the kitchen! Island is stunning! Perfect modern look to it. I like the simple clean lines stools vs the carved ones. Show stopper is the island, and I kept looking at the weird carved out stools 😂 I’m sure you’ll make it all come together nicely.

That island is so unique(understated yet elegant and a display of beautiful craftsmanship). Like the combination of the two bar stools and would keep it that way as the two at the end are weightier. Amazing!

Love the range and the windows. What a view! The stools look too small for such a large island and not very comfortable, but to each his own. The picture gallery is very pretty in the dining area and brings some much needed color. Once again, the view is incredible!

Two dishwashers are a must. Not bougie, just practical. We could not live without. Also, love that you did mostly drawers for lowers. Door cabinets are so inefficient.

First off- the flooring, island & hood are INCREDIBLE! My opinion… the cabinet color melts into the floor and the texture will be impractical to clean, the end island stools scream African (I say be cohesive & quiet with all the same), unless you have a stove in your butler’s pantry you will be running back and forth to cook, there doesn’t seem to be enough lighting above the island, the trendy rounded dining table and hard chairs don’t work in your style of home (you should have a dining table made that somewhat mimics your island), and the white lighting looks cheap. With that said, I am a firm believer that you-do-you in your own home. If all your decisions make you comfortable & happy… that’s all that matters!

Love the idea of mixing up the counter stools. I would also consider mixing up the copper pots/pans with wooden bowls or cutting boards as opposed to doing an entire set of copper pots and pans. Definitely easier on the wallet and potentially more interesting. I have really enjoyed your reveals and your design aesthetic. It is a beautiful home. Congratulations!

The 4 legged stools are unusual and special, maybe 4 of those would keep it open. Love the beautiful canvas that is your kitchen…. the island is a true work of art. How will your flooring handle accidental spills in kitchen? They are gorgeous - just wondering how forgiving they are.
So far floors are doing awesome! They made it through all the construction chaos well too. The pre finished woods seem to be quite durable!
I love your house… the design is impressive.. Is like an artwork. I love the kitchen… very European modern chic as we say here in the Netherlands. The only thing I miss in the kitchen is; a pot filler. I wish you so much joy en love in your new home ❤
I have debated a pot filler in each of the four homes we’ve built and never put one in!

Wow!!!! Thats all I can say!!! Im speechless! Or maybe not speechless…more like too much to say about your spectacular kitchen and dining areas! Every. Single. Element. Is. Perfection. The range is to die for!!!! So many burners and that griddle in the middle!!! That would be such a dreaaaaammmm to cook any meal on! Love that huge dining table and can envision lots of fun gatherings there! Can’t wait to see what you decide to do for adding artwork to the walls on each side of the range hood. Wowsers! ❤ Awesome, calm, beautiful. I was tearing up at the joy of your space. Love the island. I would get too much exercise in there! I’d go with a stool with a cushion and at least a small back but that’s me asI love a little comfort especially sitting around having a good conversation, both of those you have are gorgeous. Would some herbs on a small open shelf work either side of the hood? Love it, love it, looooooove it!

Heyya Molly and Ben! Caught this when you just dropped it! Saved me from cat box duty😅. Anyway, totally mix the stools! I thought at first that was your design plan. They are really cool together because they are completely different styles and add interest to the simplicity of the table. I did it with my table and have never gone back! If you don't use the more detailed stool, drop a round glass or marble top to it and make it a small table for plants, photos, candles, bowls, baskets, or whatever and use somewhere in your house. Love the two arch doorways. Would love to see grapevine arches above with hops or something. If not now, for the fall. Love the simplicity with great design ❤ details. So, glad you are back after some time off. I enjoy your style and had been checking in constantly to see if you reappeared and VOILA--you did😊!!! Bless you and your family in your new home. ❤❤❤

It’s magnificent. Love the drawers! Plaster looks good. But also you have multiple kitchens (4 if I recall) in your mansion, no way is a copper dish plate from William Sonoma going to break the bank 🤣🤣 get it!

My husband and I are designing our dream home to build in a few years and I love that you put the fridge in the pantry area. I’m trying to get the hubby on board. He’ll get on board after he sees your kitchen. Gorgeous!!
It’s not practical. Better off to get a paneled fridge near the stove and sink.
So, so pretty. I love the overall minimal feel of the kitchen and home, with beautiful architectural details which add interest, like the stone work, plaster hood, wall color and cabinet finish.
I find it interesting that you don’t have a fridge in the main kitchen area. Definitely feels more European to have all the food storage (cold and dry) in the pantry. I wonder if that will become a new trend here in the US? It’s an idea I’ve debated, as it would move some traffic out of the main working space that gets crowded at times with family getting drinks and snacks. But I’ve been hesitant to move the fridge with so much emphasis on the kitchen triangle. What’s your thought on that?
I just thought I wanted to try something new and as I paid attention to how our family lives I thought hey I think this would really work for us- it’s actually so close to the sink and stove I should have shown that better. So far I’m really loving the set up! Will be sure to update that when I post the full home tour after the furnishing!

I love it all! Especially the island and all the drawers. I love the look of the stools together and the rug…but how do you keep them clean with kids!? 😅 Stools look great and minimal, but are not very comfortable. Also, where is the fridge? In the other room? I can imagine this would be annoying when cooking. Stunning though!

Do you find plaster range hoods are hard to clean? I LOVE the look of them and want to do one in my new build, but I've heard that they are awful to keep clean and I cook every day. Gorgeous details in the kitchen!

I have mirrored venetian plaster in my home and can’t wipe off dark fingerprints. In one section we just painted over it because stains couldn’t be removed. And it’s not even in my kitchen.
I cannot get use to the white light fixtures. I don’t know why but the white makes it look cheap and I know it was not :))

I think you just have to see it in person. Plaster fixtures are incredible! Many high end places sell them (RH, Williams Sonoma Home, etc.). They just don't show well through the camera, similar to how the plastered walls appear painted unless you see them in person.
