Searching for a way to cut some video for a lecture, came across your video. Thanks for sharing! I'm amazed by seeing your system in Chinese hahah, I was like "what???", since I see the portrait and hear the language in very native English. Saw your other videos and sorry to hear that your English tutorial institution was shut down because of the policy. But I'd still say this kind of institution is definitely more helpful than institutions made with the orientation towards exams. Your institution didn't deserve shut down at all. Hope you've found another undertaking that you also enjoy! 加油老哥!
The sound part can be fixed by exporting your clip as an mp3. I am not sure why you have the 16 second problem, it could be the original clip or a software settings problem. You could try uploading the mkv to youtube and redownloading it from your account. If that works then vlc is the problem.
Have recorded a OBS multitrack audio and remuxed to both .mov and .mp4 - both VLC and Quicktime player allow selection of the three audio track but upon import into FCPX, only one audio track seems to be imported. Any thoughts?
That is the limitation of this method. I am not sure how to separate out the tracks. I think the adobe video editing suit does it, but I have the same problem you do right now.
@@dreamvr722 I figured it out for FCPX yesterday - you simply go to the Audio Inspector where you will see the individual audio tracks and their waveforms; then simply check each box to next to them to make them visible in the timeline. Then right-click on the audio track in the timeline and expand the audio track and expand the audio components - all tracks are now there. Works great!
This was helpful but when I go to make the MP3 file the file doesn't work. Just exports a file I can't use. I am doing this on a Mac with VLC. any thoughts?
In OBS go to the "file" button and click "remux recording". It will give you the option to export an mp4 with sound that works, you can see my newer video on it ua-cam.com/video/foVpi6vdimA/v-deo.html
Right, I actually made this video as a complete newbie to obs before I figured out the remux and video export settings. It sounds like you need a faster computer to fix your export time problem. When I bought a new Mac, my export time for video processing went from like 20 minutes, to 20 seconds.
@@dreamvr722 I figured it out yesterday - you can actually record with apples prores codec and write to an mov file in obs. When you’re importing to to Final Cut you can also let Final Cut generate the proxy media for you
I'm using 2 softwares here OBS to record and VLC player to convert. Do you mean VLC player doesn't have those extra settings? Try uninstalling it and downloading it again from the official website. www.videolan.org/vlc/
@@vit0goestuff I-movie is free and should be on your mac already. It can do video, audio and b-roll or images added in one at a time (picture in picture mode under cropping). I work with final cut pro (costs money) because I needed multiple images and videos spliced together for my work-related stuff. But for simple gaming or tutorials like this video here, Imovie is the way to go. It is way more intuitive than the paid software.
You convert the file to .mov or .mp4 then drag it into the timeline for iMovie. I learned after making this tutorial that there is a button in obs called "remux" under "file" that also converts your files to mp4 without any other software.
Where is the point of failure? Were you able to convert the .mkv to .mp4 and .mp3 using VLC player? Does the end file not work? Or is there some other bug in the end result?
Just upload the mkv to your UA-cam channel. Go to your channel content page in UA-cam studio, put your cursor over the video, and click the 3 dots (options). Select download and it will download it as an mp4. Way easier than this method.
@@dreamvr722 well i was on mac so and i recorded a video on obs and i recorded it and it went to a mkv obviously and i was trying to put it into imovie and it didn’t work so i converted it to a mov and a mp4 file and still didn’t work
@@lewibryan8521 You might have found a situation where this fix doesn't work. I've never tried using OBS nor vlc player on mac, I generally just use QuickTime screen record. I guess I'd try the fix Tbonejazz suggested above.
You could just use OBS > File > Remux recordings
and this is way faster too!! Thanks for the tip

guys in OBS, go to settings, output, recording format , select mp4! all done ;)
Or go to file - remux in OBS. I made this video before I knew the easy way to do this.
@@dreamvr722 yeah that's another way :) and cheers bud nice content!
Thank you I was having a difficult time with the Chinese writing
Thank you!😁
you're very welcome
Hey man exactly what I needed
Thanks! I post this stuff as I learn it, glad to be of help.
does this affect 4k60f videos?
Your the freaking best! Thank you friend!❤
But the problem is that the convertation makes video quality lower and it looks bad in compared to the original MKV file.
My files are already mp4 files. When I move them to iMovie and press play I get the spinning wheel. I updated iMovie. What do I do?
Thx nice Video Helpful
You can already export mp4 from obs but if I try to go with 1080p 60fps it takes forever to export in fcp I’m on M1
So I tried this and for some reason all the clips are just the first 16 seconds and there is no sound after converting
