- The Paint is PPG Metallic Tones and the Color is "Foundry" from Home Depot - www.homedepot....
The Screen Material is from www.luxinishop...
Well I ordered the screen today. I’ll update when I receive and try it out.
How much would the picture quality be reduced if you didn't use the screen cloth from china, but just a drywall board?
Do you think this screen material would work well with a short throw projector or would I get hotspotting? I'm not talking about a UST projector but rather a short throw projector. I have an optima GT1080 HDR so I would be throwing the image from only about 4 ft from the screen. I'm wondering if maybe the paint mix might work better in this particular situation?
Sorry I have not tested it with a short throw projector.
Hey, did you know if you can use a black screen with short throw projectors?
how is these painted in a wall?
So you paint right over the screen you buy from China is what your doing?
No they are 2 separate products. The Screen Material is from LUXINI and the screen paint is from Home Depot
can u suggest me what kind of best screen to buy at amazon at cheap price?
If you want something cheap on Amazon just look up Projection Screens and look at the reviews. You can decide which one is best for you
Hello, so I should paint the screen material with that PPG Metallic to get same result?
They are 2 different products
I tried this on a dry wall. After 1st coat i see a lot of hotspots and the picture looks dull in color with sparkle and shine.
You shouldn’t use metallic paint, i mean that is basically the worst for screen quality. You need a grey matte paint, i saw people recommend granite color which gives you contrast without hotspots and sparkles
Would this screen material work well with a short throw projector or would I get hotspotting? I'm not talking about an ultra short throw projector but a short throw projector. I have a optima GT 1080 HDR. So I would be throwing the image from only about 4 ft away from the screen. I'm wondering if maybe in this situation the paint from home Depot might work better? I'd really appreciate your opinion on this as you've obviously done your research.
So you bough the screen from the website and painted it again with the paint from Home Depot? I just checked out your other video it looks pretty good. Does the screen actually come with Frame or is it just cloth?
The Screen Material is already to go. The paint mix is for painting it on a Material or surface for projecting onto.
With the material and or the paint mix you still have to have a frame or make it yourself
@@RobertBriggs1977 ah makes sense. How is the light reflection? Does it do pretty good job of soaking in the light?
@@bishalbk4664 Yes it does depending on your Projector.
I'm currently using the Optoma UHD50X Projector
@@RobertBriggs1977 sounds good. Thanks man.
@@bishalbk4664 no problem
Will it work on a motorized white screen.
Yes
So are you putting that paint on a sheet of plywood?
No
You can paint pvc material or cloth material like Carls Blackout cloth which is white and then paint it. I made a frame out of wood. Then stapled the screen onto the frame
PRECISE 360 awesome! I’m in need of a replacement projector. My old optoma u20 bulb finally burned out, makes sense to upgrade to 4K and get a screen vs a gray wall.
Yes 4k is the way to go
Which do like the best the paint or screen or whats the difference
Honestly the screen material is brighter with way better Contrast Levels which Leads to Colors that are more Vivid. The Negative is the biggest size in the material that you can buy is a 133" that does a max of 124" Borderless Screen. Also the screen gets a little bit darker sitting on the sides of the screen but still completely viewable.
I'm not really into the paint thing anymore because the screen is so good. The Screen is super smooth which makes it feel like extra sharpness. The white Levels are better than a White screen and the Black Levels are very Black. Also no more mess from painting!
@@RobertBriggs1977 now im confused...after scanning through your videos and comments it seems a few people were unhappy with their results painting?? And in this comment you actually say you like the screen better unpainted? I was going to buy paint today but now wondering if I should save the time and $ and just purchase the screen material? Please let me know to clear up the confusion. Thanks man
@@TheLANDSQUID Honestly it's completely up to you. The first coat I painted on my wall I had Roller lines but the second coat it went away. As for hot spotting I personally have not had that problem. You could always get the Quart and & paint it on a test sample at least a 2x4 foot and see if that works for you. Everyone's Environment is different so results may vary
Just remember that the Color is Foundry
@@RobertBriggs1977 so what I'm wondering is from your experience do you still prefer the screen over a well painted screen or wall with The Foundry paint? For me it probably will be more guaranteed results if I go with the screen which wouldn't be much more cost then the $50 for the paint. It would seem that that would be the better option and judging from your comment I thought you said you preferred it to the paint anyway, no?
It is the screen or the mix?
It's both but the pictures at the end of the video are the screen material. I'll put up a video showing the screen paint soon
@@RobertBriggs1977 ok when will be out for sale
This is not our products. You can order the screen right now in the description I provided a link
Still selling?
We are not selling anymore. Sorry
I've been telling everyone about Luxini Projection Screen Material. Here is the link.......

Any idea where to get material that's as good as this but in a larger size? I need 2:35 size.
Sorry I have not Tested out any other screens
It's reflective material so I would try researching reflective gray Projection Screen Material
@@RobertBriggs1977 thank you!
@@RobertBriggs1977 so I just finally received my screen today and just wanted to confirm that you are projecting on the reflective side that has some glitter effect when looking close up?
It does also appear to be the darker side which also seams smoother...or do you have the less smooth side without silver sparkle forward?
So much talking about nothing of value
