I saw them live in 1993. They looked and sounded exactly like the video you just watched. Hands down the best concert ever. The full orchestra accompanying them was a n unforgettable experience.

5 times for my wife and I . Twice with the full Ochestra. The small venue of the Paul Masson winery in California back in 2001 I consider my Favorite and the best concert of maybe 50 I've been to by all other bands to include the 5 for Tom Petty. I still have the jersey I bought then ( doesn't fit any more ). a fan since 1973.

This song has filled many, many people with emotion for decades. I had the honor of seeing them perform this song live once. It is one of my all time favorite songs. Oddly enough another one of my all time favorite songs is Yesterday by Paul McCartney. I saw him perform that song live twice that same week I saw The Moody Blues perform Nights In White Satin.

I too was amazed the first time I heard this song, unforgettable! But I think the most amazing thing is that Justin Hayward the singer guitar player there wrote this when he was only 19! I'm fairly sure the girl he wrote this song about ended up with him! I mean why not?? I think he loves her!
If you like this song which from what I've seen I think you just might, you should try the song "Tuesday Afternoon" from them, another brilliant sounding song!!

    Great Reaction, and review.
This is a song you listen to laying down in your bed, with the lights turned off, and they will take your soul to some other place and time. Then the Symphony comes in, and they take you into the Kingdom. I first heard this song in 1971, in my room, on my huge stereo system, and was blown away, by the album Days of Future Pass.

Young lady I predict you will love this video. These guys were super good..!!! And yes I got to see them in Raleigh, NC back in the 1980's. It was like listening to a music CD. Yes they are that good. The orchestra in this video makes it perfect.... Keep in mind this band has been around since 1964.. You were a sparkle in your parents eyes back then. It warms my heart to see you enjoying them... Remember the line - "Some try to tell me thoughts they cannot defend." "Just what you want to be, you will be in the end!" Words of wisdom! This is a classic. Be advised ALL of the MOODY BLUES music is very good. ALL of IT.............. Are you a convert now??? You should be. I did enjoy your channel, THANKS........................................ Stay safe.

I bought there first album on LP when it first came out.
And every one since. Saw them live at Indianapolis, not sure of the year now, but can look it up. Just almost as good then though a rain and windstorm at this outdoor theater messed with us and we all had to take cover for a bit. They came back of and did a great job.
Then about 25 years ago, I converted all my CDs (bought them too) to MP3, and they are on my phone, PC, in my car, etc. I never get over this great music.
Also a fan of Dire Straits (Mark Knopfler), Santana, and more.

Listen to the studio version, (released in 1967!) if you really want to be amazed..At the end, a poem follows called "Late Lament" that isn't technically a part of this song, (though I always thought was, because it seems to fit so perfectly) It's absolutely beautiful, and brings the song to another level..They also have a ton of other great songs...And, I highly recommend an album put out by the two guys you see up front here. The singer/guitarist Justin Hayward, and John Lodge (bassist) called "Blue Jays." They recorded it while the band was on a break, in 1975..Fantastic album!..Imo as good as any album they recorded with the band.

This life performance is one of the best live performance recordings I have ever heard in my life. Yeah alive when Churchill was alive and watched funeral on TV in Germany. The original studio album from 1967 (Days of Future Passed), will take you on a magical journey better because Justin's voice was fuller back then. Amazing.
