This series did the best job of portraying Batman's Rogues Gallery in any medium. Each was distinct and had their own specific motivations. Their Mister Freeze story and character arc is legendary! Every facet of this show is top tier, but their not-so-secret weapon was Andrea Romano who did the voice casting and direction! To this day, probably the BEST animated series of all time!
Yes, please make a video about the voice cast of BTAS! 🙏🏾 BTW, in the episode of BTAS, (Season 1, Episode 18) "Beware the Gray Ghost," featured Adam West playing Simon Trent / The Gray Ghost. This is the equivalent of Captain Picard meeting Captain Kirk in the 1994 movie, Star Trek Generations. JUST EPIC! 🦇📺
Because of Kevin and Mark..... When I read comics I can only hear their voices in my head when I read. There are many Batmans and Jokers.... But Conroy and Hamill are Batman and Joker to me. I respect Mark Hamill for retiring as The Joker because Kevin Conroy passed away.
Love this show and agree about the rogues gallery portrayals the only one as close is the Arkham series in my opinion, Batman is such a great character
If TMNT were absorbed into MARVEL COMICS, I'd love to see them join X-MEN comics to join up with The Morlocks because both dwell in sewers and tunnels. Could be good team up fun and have'em team up with Matt Murdock too.
Christmas with the joker is by far my favorite episode out of all of it. I love how he breaks out of Arkham asylum just to throw a pie in Batman's face and be like. I just want to see you for Christmas bro and then let's everyone take him back into Arkham and Batman at the end goes. It is a wonderful life because the whole thing is he's never seen a wonderful life and Robin's trying to get him to watch it and he only watches it because of what happens with the joker. It's amazing! I remember that from like forever ago
September 5th should be a Holiday for Comic Book fans. Why? Because this show, is the reason major movie studios decided to take comic books seriously. They figured out that adults take them seriously.. It was a quiet revolution. The day Paul Dini's "Heart of Ice", won an Emmy. That got us the world we have today. So, if you liked Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, V for Vendetta, Watchmen, Dark Knight, Avengers movies, Wonder Woman, SHAZAM, Aquaman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Joker, Into the Spider Verse, (TV's Smallville) it all began here, with: Batman The Animated Series. If they would have failed, or if they would have never existed, then comic book movies would still be like Captain America (1979). The Incredible Hulk Returns (1988). Which means, the ONLY thing we had to look forward to was George Lucas started Star Wars again, back in 1999, and he ended it in 2005.
Does anyone know anything about 'The Gun That Killed Batman's Parents'. It was an episode of BTAS that never got made and Alan Burnett said it begins with the creation of the gun, and follows the gun through several people who use it, and finally getting to the person who killed the Waynes. And then it ends up getting melted down. Would have been amazing to see on the screen
This was a great episode and I agree with you on the influence it had and still has to this day - I'm just surprised you didn't mention that Gray Ghost was played by Adam West! 😨
Modern kids cartoons don't use as many guns in exchange for showing bloodless deaths on-screen (trolls getting turned to stone, exploding villains with goo instead of blood, straight up showing the murder without blood, etc.)
ALL the love in the world for you Arris and Variant for this one, one of the most important videos in variant history. As a fellow 90s kid in 2022 with other anniversaries like MMPR and X-Men celebrating 30 yr milestones this year THIS show 30 years later set the standard for franchise characters in a shared universe and without it we don't have the MCU regardless if it's the other company. Me and a close buddy of mine at work were just talking about this and 3 Emmys and an entire universe of characters proper in a legacy of shows along with games and apparel etc even the inspiration behind variant without the cast and crew we don't have arguably the greatest show of ALL time that still connects us all together from across cultures and generations, happy 30th everyone AND ALFRED RETURNS 🙏 #BTAS30 #Variant
I had bad memories of Batman 60's show because they messed it up. I thought Marvel was dominating with balanced light and dark storytelling. But TAS proved how wrong I was and made me respect his lore along with other DC characters. I'm still Marvel's side but not much this current time.
My childhood hero for ever and ever since I was kid an now am adult and I have batman animated series theme song on my cellphone 📱 oh hell yeah an I meet him 2020 an I have his picture on my cellphone 📱 oh yeah an long live Kevin Conway aka Bruce Wayne and my childhood hero for ever and ever
Can you do history of DC's Shining Knight, Cowboy_Vigilante and the Crimson_Avenger along with Marvel's Dreadknight? If you seen the recent episodes of season 7 of the Flash, can you do history of Impulse, XS, Psych, Fuerza, Steadfast, Chillblaine, Abracadabra, Rainbow Raider, Mirror Master and Top in your next video?
There are modern kid shows that have death. Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, Infinity Train, The Owl House, Amphibia, Gravity Falls, Tron Uprising, Star vs the forces of Evil, Sym Bionic Titan. Type List of deaths wiki something. Also Dan Vs and 2019 Carmen Sandiego, Netflix’s Legend Quest, The Dragon Prince and Kipo and the age of Wonderbeast.
I do believe this show was a great launch point for incredible Batman content to come, but it isn't phenomenal to me. The millennials have a little too much nostalgia for the show
Hi I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I'm watching another channel of Chainsaw reacts and I just found out that Kevin Conroy the voice of Batman of this animated series passed away on November 10th 2022 I'm a little upset
I liked it but I didn't love it I really couldn't stand the artwork And when they put it on DVD I only bought the 1st 3 volumes because that had the black and yellow logo on his chest
I cannot fangirl over this series enough!!! I was in my early teens when this came out and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Back in the day I had to import all of the DVD's from the US to Aus just so I could watch them over and over, along with the rest of the Animated series. Now if I can just get my hands on The Zeta Project and Static Shock- my collection will be complete!!!

Wow
Hype
Awesome
Please do Batman beyond
please check out bat in the sun's dying is easy, you will not be disappointed. @batinthesun @Variant comics
It really says something that we basically consider this show actual comic canon at this point. Greatest piece of on-screen superhero media 100%
Absolutely
BTAS is the definitive Batman
agree with this except the whole Batman bangs Batgirl who then has a miscarriage plot line. Delete that and it's perfect imo
@@FrostiOrca that was the killing joke right?
I don’t know if that’s considered cannon in this universe
@@icebough4191 its mentioned in Batman Beyond so while I don't know about the movie, the fact they were together for a period is still canon
@@FrostiOrca oh wow I had no idea
Grew up watching this as a kid and still watch it to this day...35 years later. Love it!
What year were you born?
Adam West voiced The Gray Ghost. Completely surprised you didn't mention this. Super awesome episode!
Also Dana muldar aka Dr. Polaski from tng. Awesome little suprise

Kevin Conroy *IS* the definitive Batman 🥰

The impact of this show on Comics, Animation, Live Action and Video Games is Bonafide Then & Forward.
1 word to describe this show "LEGENDARY"
In my opinion the thing that makes Batman so great was his Rogues gallery.
This is the definitive version of Batman period! Nothing else comes close to Batman: The Animated Series 🖤🦇🌃
I disagree with that.
Nice to see all my fellow folks who grew up in the best decade, the 90s
I've been a long time fan of Batman TAS since I was a kid, which is why It got me to love Batman so much.
This was an amazing show, and I always looked forward to watching it after school, and on Saturdays.
One of the best of ALL time...Kevin Conroy will always be Batman to me! Mark Hamill was the perfect Joker. This series was perfection.
I love this show. It's the reason why I love Batman today. 🖤
I like some of the lesser know episodes like Mean Seasons, The Forgotten, Paging the Crime Doctor, etc.
You had a hell of a run Kevin, voicing batman alot, defeating joker and haveing a hell of a speech, after all we been thought.
This and the X-Men series are largely why I'm into comics.
Oh gods! I miss the XMen series 😢
TAS is goated but The Batman 2004 is criminally underrated
This captures the very essence of Batman
FACTS! I totally agree, my friend. The intro to BTAS is THE BEST!!!👊😎🦇
Love this show and agree about the rogues gallery portrayals the only one as close is the Arkham series in my opinion, Batman is such a great character
RIP Kevin Conroy 😭
It is still the greatest animated show period
BTAS is legendary. Just legendary.
A work of art.
This show along with some other animated shows are still just as amazing today as they were back then
The one where batman and robin are escaping the riddler's maze was pretty memorable to ne
RIP Kevin Conroy (November 30,1955-November 10,2022) 🦇 😢😢
favorite show as a kid. I respect it now more that I've gotten older
Mask of the Phantasm is the best movie ever
Loved that show. LOVED THAT SHOW. And the animated universe that followed, was the best of comic book adaptation. Either live action or animated.
Happy Batman day everyone
If TMNT were absorbed into MARVEL COMICS, I'd love to see them join X-MEN comics to join up with The Morlocks because both dwell in sewers and tunnels. Could be good team up fun and have'em team up with Matt Murdock too.
“I am vengeance. I am the night. I…AM…BATMAN”
Happy Batman Day!!
You know what day it is🦇
It really is my favorite Batman animated anything. From the Art Deco to the depth and care of the characters, top notch.

Happy Batman Day other than I remember watching this Batman cartoon on Fox Kids. Other than awesome video man 😎.
Watching Christmas With The Joker is a Christmas Eve tradition of mine as well.
This was a great episode and I agree with you on the influence it had and still has to this day - I'm just surprised you didn't mention that Gray Ghost was played by Adam West! 😨
Happy batman day
Believe it or not I was just watching Batman the animated series on my laptop last night. I was watching the episode of the clock king and Mr Freeze.
R.I.P Kevin Conroy
Batman the animated series is one of the greatest show ever made!
BTAS is iconic.
BTAS is the greatest comic book tv show of all time. DC, Marvel and beyond🤘🏽
The Animated Series is the best most definitely. Great writing and great vid like always
BTAS= mask of phantasm has the legendary scene...a goon is smart enough to not engaging a fight with batman by pretending he didn't see anything
I'm gonna go back and watch all the episodes tonight
As a kid I remember watching the Clayface episode and it scaring the crap out of me.
Midtown Comics in NYC have the joker statues
Awesome Storylines, Multidimensional Rogue Gallery, Harley Quinn and launched one of the greatest Animated Universes on television. Enough said.
I'm biased but this to me is the greatest cartoon of all time
Almost got em is a perfect episode of TV
Modern kids cartoons don't use as many guns in exchange for showing bloodless deaths on-screen (trolls getting turned to stone, exploding villains with goo instead of blood, straight up showing the murder without blood, etc.)

That's nice. Sadly I wasn't even born yet when the series aired in 1992.
This shit was my childhood...Never forget the intro and theme song the animated series had.

I watch "Christmas With the Joker" every Christmas Eve as well. Has been a tradition the last few years while the lasagna is in the oven.
Absolutely love the masterpiece of television. I created this for my love of Batman
I liked it but I didn't love it I really couldn't stand the artwork And when they put it on DVD I only bought the 1st 3 volumes because that had the black and yellow logo on his chest
I love Batman.
Lol wooooo love this episode. Good to see you are still rolling it out.
Killer Croc design was coolest because it was intimidating and not too cartoony. Wish they mutated him from this Color scheme
Brilliant episode! Please do this for X-Men the animated series, since it's also the 30th anniversary of that show.
Happy batman day 🥳 🧔🦇
Killer Croc design was coolest because it was intimidating and not too cartoony. Wish they mutated him from this Color scheme
This is the best superhero cartoon ever made.
Can you do an overview of Spiderman TAS and the synopsis of the unreleased season!
Batman tas along with Batman 89 and Returns and Forever got me into Batman in the 90s.
RIP Kevin Conroy, you'll be missed.....
I would love to hear your take on other Batman tv series both animated and the 60s version that I grew up with.
Now this is gonna be a nostalgic watch
Can you do a list on all the other projects/shows connected to “justice league unlimited”??? Please.
Best cartoon series ever.... no debate
Batman TAS was on fox kids? I thought I saw it on WB kids
I absolutely love the DCAU and BTAS.
