    Thank you so much for putting these together! It was been tough trying to learn the GM aspects of Roll20. But these tutorials are the best I've seen. Great job!!!

    Lol why do people downvote these type of videos? Spite? Jealousy? I don't see any negative takes here... very helpful!

    I figured out the Alt scroll by accident a few months back and have used it ever since. It feels like using photoshop or zbrush at that point, and as an artist, it just feels intuitive.

    I love your content dude! Keep it going.
    Question: How do you handle area of spells? Circles? Cones? You use custom tokens? Thx!

    • @Taking20
      @Taking20  8 років тому

      Thanks Henrique!
      Honestly I don't do much in the way of area of effects when playing. I mostly just use the ruler. But this comment has given me some ideas I may try out.
      Yes I use circle tokens created with maptools (and more recently Paint.net.)

      Henrique search in Roll20 Marketplace for "spell effects". There are several excellent art packs that can be used to show spells Area of Effect. Take the cones, circles, and cubes of flame, water, darkness, and so on. Size it to the appropriate size for your game, and save the graphic to the side to display when they cast the spell. Better yet make a Character Journal and save your custom-sized spell effect tokens as characters ("Fireball" for example of character name), and perhaps give control of Fireball to your wizard PC. Now GM or PC can drag-and-drop this already sized effect graphic from the Journals onto the tabletop when spell casting.

    Hey there. 2:43 Arrow keys to move token is not Advanced, it is a default, user does not need Advanced Shortcuts enabled for the arrow-key tip. 3:23 "Scroll bar" is not the best terminology for the Zoom bar, since there are already scroll bars (for panning, seen on the edges of maps) and also the Macro Quick Bar can have a scroll bar, also the chat can scroll. Thank you for the video series!

      Not all the shortcuts are strictly advanced. Glad you like the series! It's been a lot of fun so far.

    That's one awesome dungeon tile there. Was it custom made or is it a part of some pack? :)

    Yeah. It's the only way to play. I do wish they would allow you to customize these as some of the mappings make little sense to me. How about g for GM layer, l for lighting layer, etc.

    • @Taking20
      @Taking20  8 років тому

      I foresee that being available in the future. I mean, I don't have any type of inside information, but Roll20 constantly improves their software. I guess we can cross our fingers right?

    maybe a stupid question but how do you get into the setting up the advanced so you can bring up the turn with a keybutton

    Are these shortcuts rebindable?
