These videos have been super helpful! Though I'm having trouble setting up one part of a macro that shows links to conditions like your example. In the " {{description= " section, how do I make the output appear "Blinded Charmed Prone etc." ---as of right now the output is all in-line as "Blinded Charmed Prone etc." upon looking up info about the npcaction template I couldn't find how to create those line breaks
Do I have to watch your other videos to figure out where you get the basic npcaction template in this video? I would, of course, just wondering if it's actually in there, somewhere?
I have recently found these videos and have implemented TONS of your info into my Rogue Trader game! I greatly appreciate the time and effort you put into all of this! Now, my question (lol): I am having trouble getting my "cheat sheet" to show multiple entries like your Wizard Cheat sheet...My macro only brings up the last entry in the text of the macro. Any suggestions? Thanks again!
nm, got it figured out! For anyone out there looking for the answer: just push enter after your close the bracket on the url and start another line... it was that easy. lol
Hi, I'm a new subscriber to your awesome and very useful channel. Since I'm quite new to roll20 and I'm trying to setting my first campaign with Pathfinder system I'm working a lot trying to understand what's the minimum amount of effort I have to put in macros and other stuffs. I'd love to put in my game all the things shown in your tutorials but unfortunately, even if I can understand how those things work I have to start from the very beginning and the go on step by step adding new features while I learn them through experience and games. Do you have some tips on which macros I should add to keep the game smooth enough? I was asking to myself if you learned all the things you know while using Roll20 or do you have experience with programming languages? Thanks a lot for your precious vids and tips, you have a new supporter :D
Loving your videos man, thanks for doing them. Quick question if you have time for it - Do you know is the "npcaction" template included with all the charactersheets? I'm using the 5th Edition (community contributed) sheet and I can't seem to get it to work. I'm newb so wondering if I'm just doing something wrong...
Thanks! But how do I find the handout URL to a handout I've just created? It should look something like this: journal.roll20.net/handout/-KdiEzWMMxjZqNtAEZZZ. I want to add a link to the new handout in a description of a room that I have in a module I downloaded on Roll20.
Hi, on the HTML Character Sheet, how do you code to link to handouts? Everytime I load the game, ... the href element gets replaced with href="#", all the while the Custom Character Sheet HTML has the appropriate link. I have tried everything that I know. And with Roll20 disabling javascript and only has their limited Roll20-JQuery version, what should I do?
hi, i hae another question, is there a way to link a handout to a rollable table result?, like if for example i have a handout describing a spell and i put it into the rollable table is there a way for the result to link to the handout?.
If you're asking about the colors? You can right-click to change names and colors of the macro buttons. As far as if you should upgrade, I would definitely recommend upgrading to the plus level account IF you DM frequently. This unlocks two features that I love: dynamic lighting and the character vault. The vault is handy for those who need to share monsters with friends. Dynamic lighting is just fantastic.
Taking20 Yea the dynamic lighting look brilliant. We tend toward a more narrated experience so i don't know how much we'll really use it. Do you find it easy to discern where there is bright vs dim light?
As far as dim light... I don't worry about trying to set it up perfectly. As far as dynamic lighting goes... if you use it right, it is amazing! It adds a whole new depth to the game. I have used it to create puzzles zelda-style. I have used it to confuse my players in combat. I have used it to hide monsters from them. It's wonderful. However, I HATE when DMs think that because they have dynamically lit a map, that their players should explore the dungeon with it. Nothing more boring as a player than watching you and your party start to move around a map 5-6 spaces at a time like a board game. Dynamic lighting in combat = stellar! Dynamic lighting for dungeon crawling = terrible!
Ok so use it for combat then revert to a narrative exploration of the dungeon. That sounds like a fun balance. I'm going to watch a few videos and decide if its right for my group. Thanks!
Nice man! Thank you! You are helping brazilian players too! Your english is easy to understand! Make a lot of this videos, please.
Olá do Texas! Glad you like the series my man.
Roll20 should hire you for official tutorials, awesome stuff!
Darren, you're too kind!
The whole series is excellent, thank you, more people need to know about this. So I've told my friends! Liked, Commented and Subscribed!
This helped a lot thanks!
Thank you very much. Help me a lot with force powers.

No, I'm no programmer lol. Check out the forums and see if you can't get some more help there. Best of luck!
Hey Cody, is there a tutorial about the icons on the bottom left corner?
I'm really curious about them and how they work.

No one responded to this poor guy

I’m confused about the template…. I’m trying to follow along as best as I can since I’m new to Roll20.

How do you get your buttons looking like that along the bottom of the screen?
And also would you recommend upgrading from a free account?

That's pretty much what I prefer... but I'm just one man right? Good luck!
