This makes me really glad Poliigon has been so successful. I don't regret paying the subscription when you keep researching and making great stuff like this!!! Thank you!!!
There is basic lightening in photography like "butterfly, rembrant and split". Also in my studio i have put some little square piece of tape to place my model and lights, nice idea to made the same for the virtual world.
Every time I think you've put out the latest and greatest shit for amateur modelers you one up yourself with something new like this. So glad I found your website back in 2015, keep up the great work!
Hmm, I actually don't know if there could be a light setup for interiors, since there's so many objects, it'd get messy fast. These setups really only work because you're lighting one subject.
there is tons of HDRI studio setups out there, and I think they are useful when you are starting and dont know WTH you are doing, but it will be way more useful to learn how to light instead of using presets, because then it comes the day that none of your presets works or does not give enough quality and then you will be completely screwed. learn how to light, is an essential skill for visual art. period
I actually agree with this. And this shouldn't replace learning the fundamentals of lighting for yourself. But even for a pro, it's time-consuming to try out lots of styles just to see what works. So this just allows you to fast-track that experimentation phase.
yeah, as I mentioned I understand the usefulness of it for certain instances but many times you are just looking for a particular look and position lights is not so much of a hassle TBH, specially when lighting a single character/object. You are pretty proficient at lighting, may be a few tutorials on the basics of lighting will help those that are getting started so they don't get too comfy on using presets :P keep up the good work.
So basically, you're recycling the Pro Lighting Studio plugin that you made a few years ago? For those who already own this plugin, is there any interest in getting these new HDRs?
Yes, these are some of the same styles from that plugin, but now available for all 3d software users. The plugin still has a lot more styles though (140 vs these 40).
Let me put my 2 cents in: when you go down the list of items and after you download one of them at the bottom, the list automatically scrolls up, so you have to scroll down again to get where you were before downloading.
Oh. You're talking about scrolling down any list of textures, clicking one, downloading, then returning to the texture list again, and it takes you to the top? That shouldn't be happening. So I can correctly report it, what's your browser?
Also it feels strange to me that the categories on the left side aren't on alphabetical order. I just have to look through a list and hope my eye falls on what I'm looking for rather than have some guidance in the order.
Thanks for great information and huge update but Andrew Poliigon asks me to write my last name with 3 characters what the hell :((( I had to make up my name like Ohhhh :(( Don't touch my namee
Hi there, Bhavin. Thanks for your interest. You can go to Poliigon.com or for the free textures, proceed here: www.poliigon.com/search/recent/narrow/list/free%20textures -Reynante Martinez
Really think you need to just sell an HDR pack for $29.99 or whatever instead of having to subscribe, have credits and all that crap. lol! Take a page from Andrew Kramer and how he does his products. Also lower the prices, higher the buy in from people. One condensed product download and boom.
We actually added on-demand credits recently for just this purpose. They never expire and you can pick and choose which assets you "buy" with your credits. Does that work for you, or do you still prefer it as a pack? If so, can I ask why a pack feels better?
Lightning in 3D is not the same as life. You render your character then render the lighting as 2 separate layers then stack them in Photoshop render it out and Wala done in 1/3 of the time
This makes me really glad Poliigon has been so successful. I don't regret paying the subscription when you keep researching and making great stuff like this!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks Deretto!

The Elon Musk of 3d software does it again! Nice job Andrew.
Andrew is literally a guru
This is JUST what I needed! You're the best!
Great to hear! Thanks
In 2023, I followed the link but it seems these HDRs are no longer available?
Poliigon delivers as always!
Thanks for the kind words, John. :) -Reynante Martinez, Poliigon staff and artist
Looks promising. I wish there was an option to download them all at once.
That's why I love to live in 2018
2020 now lol

I think this might be the most important pack to get in 3d.
Wow awesome light
You should create skin textures in poliigon, this would makes things a lot easier for anyone =')

Yes but i think if you have substance painter its there👍, and substance share maybe
This is REALLY helpful! Thanks!!
You are awesome dude.
that looks great!
Could you link the HDRIs again, they aren't on the Poligon site anymore
This is great! Are you guys working in an equivalent for architectural interiors and exteriors. That would be amazing! Great job!
Hmm, I actually don't know if there could be a light setup for interiors, since there's so many objects, it'd get messy fast. These setups really only work because you're lighting one subject.
The greatest production in CGI history is Poliigon
Have to try it out and see 😆

Would these HDRI's supercede your Pro-Lighting: Studio ADD-ON? Or would there be situations where one would be better than the other?
Thank u sir for replying me i love the videos in here i am new to blender but i can easily understand love the tutorial
I think I will buy it now for one month and try :)
Hey Andrew price, which screen recorder do u use for getting your face like that

Very helpful response! That aside, Your sales result speaks for itself on blender market :)
OK, I understand. Thanks.
Hi, somebody knows to who belongs the character shown at the early beginning of the video?
In my opinion the new poliigons sites interface is a bit of a mess
Yeah it's got a few bugs that we're still working out. What areas in your opinion need the most improvement?
I guess i just found the previous design more fluid and fresh...The new version fells like a copy of textures.com

how did you open 2 window in blender one of them is 3D and that one is animation?
Actually I'm not really an 3D-ARTIST, I watch your videos only because of the part that aplies to PHOTOGRAPHERS or FILMMAKERS as well!
*Also Blender Guru!
haha thanks :)
Is this something different than Pro Lighting Studio?
The Lighting Is important . Allí 3d artist need a sun or a light
Ah yes *the hanged king*
Andrew, why do you seem embarrassed ,when you talk about poligon products ,you share good stuff...
yes!!
Cool
How can I use these in Marmoset toolbag.
You should be able to add it in the Sky settings. Click "Image" and load in one our EXRs.

Hi there, Bhavin. Thanks for your interest. You can go to Poliigon.com or for the free textures, proceed here: www.poliigon.com/search/recent/narrow/list/free%20textures -Reynante Martinez
I'd rather just use your lighting tutorial series on blender guru.
Sir , will you teach us how to create one of those HDR lights in Blender ?!
