Thanks, Ashley, for bringing us this exciting news! You're so good at answering questions before we ask them!
Thank you so much! I do try to anticipate the questions but there are always some I miss and think "dang it...I should have added this/that"
Awesome info! Thank you for breaking this down for us. It is extremely helpful. ❤
You're always welcome!
Aren't you a peach! I am absolutely loving your channel and have been bindge watching. Trying to get the hubby to watch as well but that's a work in progress. Thanks for the wonderful info and content. Y'all are so normal and American that it's refreshing to see on these youtube streets ☺LOL!! New sub!
You are too kind! Lol I love being called a peach! And I have the same problem with my husband...he doesn't even watch our own videos lol
But you're incredibly welcome! Thank YOU for watching and for leaving such a sweet comment. We try our best just to be as plain and simple as we can because we would rather be relatable than we would admirable. Welcome to our little corner of the Tube!
P.S I absolutely love your handle!
I saw these great prices earlier. Couldn't wait for your video.
I worked on this ALL day yesterday 🤣 I’m happy to hear there was some anticipation for it because it was a lonnnnng day lol Thank you for your support and for your patience with me ☺️💕
You explained it Perfect !
Thank you, Julie! I tried to break it down the best I could!
@@battlegroundbiscuitsThe best it was Great !
Thank you for all the great information! We are going in 02/2024. I would love a video explaining magic your way! This is our 1st time staying at SOG and your videos have been a factor in us making that decision.
That makes me so happy to hear! 🥹 I will work on a MYW ticket video…it’s another great option for a lot of families that don’t qualify for the promo tickets. You’re going to have a great time in February! It should still be fairly mild weather 🙌🏼
Thank you thank you thank you! Love all your videos, so informative. Love the room tours also!
You're more than welcome! So glad to hear it has been helpful for you!!!
I didn’t know you could split the days up this is great to know, especially with the 6 day option. Thanks as always for sharing 🤩
You absolutely can! If you’re a family of 2 you could both get the 6 day option 3 times and then split those up into different trip throughout the year. Or a family of 3 could get the tickets twice and split those up. We’ve definitely done that in the past. The 6 day option almost makes the price of an annual pass NOT worth it anymore so we will really have to decide what to do next year 😊 You’re welcome as always! Thanks so much for watching! 💕
Thank you so much for this invaluable info! We are going at the end of April! I haven’t been since 1991 so I am SO EXCITED!!
Oh nice! I'm excited for you! I hope you have an amazing time. I'll be curious to hear after visiting what you think of it now after so many years 🙂
So excited for the announcement! These tickets and other military discounts make it possible for our family to take these vacations. I have questions about the park hopper plus tickets. Do you have to use the water park entries on the same days that you use your theme park entries? Thank you for all of the info you share; it has helped us plan several of our Disney trips!
You’re incredibly welcome! And to answer your question…nope, you can use the theme park tickets and water park tickets on separate days 🙌🏼 Thank goodness because I think trying to do both in the same day would be exhausting! 😂
Another great video!!
Thank you so much! It was a long day yesterday 😂
Freaked out when I saw the salute tickets announced! My fiancé and I are planning a trip for June 2024. Can’t wait!!!!!! ♥️
Yayyy!!! 🥳 June is a great time! We were there for Father’s Day this year. Make sure to try to squeeze a water park in there between park days 🙌🏼
Yes, do a magic your way video. We always buy the promo tickets, but the blackout dates are during the time frame I was thinking, so considering a MYW for those dates. Would this work?
Can do! Same thing happened to us this past spring...planned our trip in April and then lo and behold...black out dates lol We bought MYW and it worked out just fine :) I'll see if I can put together a video focusing on those because I'm sure others are curious too. Good hearing from you, Christina! 🤗
New subscriber and love the content! Haven't been to Disney in several years - so much has changed! Grateful for SOG and Disney extended benefits to 100% disabled vets. Questions: is it hard to get a DAS pass now? Also, if we did 4 day park hopper plus, we could do the 4 parks, and do the water parks on days we don't want to visit a park? Also, can you recommend the most affordable way to do rooms that can accommodate my husband and I, plus 2 teen girls and 2 teen boys that should be in separate sleeping spaces? Watched your suite videos which is so helpful - almost wondering if we should do 3 standard adjacent rooms.
@@ashleyr.4105 hello and welcome! Yes! Disney is constantly evolving! DAS has recently changed and I would encourage you to try to apply for it if you think it will help you manage waiting in confined spaces. I couldn’t say if it’s “hard” or easy since we haven’t tried for one since the very recent updates but it’s free to apply so I always say call and ask 😁
For the park hopper PLUS tickets you are correct. You’ll get 4 park entries PLUS 4 water park entries (or mini golf or sports complex entries). So yes you can use that for the water park or something other than the theme parks on your off days.
I think the most affordable way to do 6 people would be to get 3 connecting standard rooms. You’ll share a door between the two rooms and you’ll have your own bathrooms. It’s important to use the word ‘connecting’ though to make sure you get the rooms next to each other and not just across the hall. I’m so happy the videos have helped!! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a kind comment 🥰
Omg I love that. A great meal and then….Story!! I wonder if the TSA at Lambert see cheese go through ALOT!!!
Ha! I bet they do lol
Yes yes yes am I buying these tickets. what a deal!!!🎉 I actually thought prices would go up more, so I am super happy!!
A great deal! And as we saw, the prices went up more in past years so I’m glad to see the increase is lower this year 🙌🏼
Back in the 60s and 70s they had armed forces day in which all military were free entry and rides
Great info, I’ve been to Disney at stayed at SOG as well as on Disney Resorts. I’ve learned so much more from your videos. Thank you 😊 PS. SOG tickets reps are still telling customers they need to make reservations as of March 2024. Tried to correct the rep but she refused to listen.
I'm glad to hear the videos have been helpful! I hope there wasn't a misunderstanding about park reservations though. As of 2024 you DO need park reservations IF you are using the military tickets (non date based tickets). If you purchase directly through Disney (date based tickets) only then you do not need the reservations. I'm sure thats why the SOG reps are reminding those purchasing tickets through them. Hopefully thats a little more clear :)
Thanks ❤❤🎉
You’re welcome, of course! 🫶🏼
Good morning Ashley we have reservations Jan 8-12th at Boulder Creek villa using our DVC points. Glad park hopper is back without reservations. We where thinking of get miltary salute tickets at SOG when we arrive than activate or would it be better to purchase from SOG before we get there. Do we have to have park reservations?
Hi there! Just to be clear, (all-day) park hopping returns January 9th 🙌🏼 But if you’re planning on using Salute/promotional tickets you will still need to make reservations because those are not date based tickets (reservations will be dropped for date based tickets only) In that case I would recommend submitting your order for tickets now and SOG can mail them to you. You’ll be able to get all set up before the trip that way. But of course if you wish to save the cost of shipping the tickets ($15) then you can certainly purchase those when you arrive at SOG from their ticket window. Just remember you’ll have to make park reservations before you scan into the parks. I don’t have reason to believe the parks will be impossibly busy during your time frame so I think you’ll be ok waiting but that’s totally up to your comfort level. And remember, if you get your tickets through SOG you don’t need to activate/verify! They’ll be ready to scan! Have a great vacation!
Thanks! Do you have a video where you explain what all the ESPN Wide World of Sports is exactly? Or what all it offers?
You're welcome!
Ya know....we don't have any videos about that at ALL lol I need to add this to our list of places to explore actually. We just don't personally have a reason to be there BUT I can tell you thats its where allll of the dance and cheer competitions are held. But they also host tons of other sports invitationals too. They have a baseball stadium, a baseball quadraplex for tournaments, a marathon sports field, a track and field, an arena and athletic center. Its also where the DoD warrior games are held (and they are returning in 2024!) So, a lot of large groups will travel to Disney for their competition and then stay on property and have a theme park day or two...but they'll need tickets to this complex as well so thats why its offered in the "plus" ticketing options. Whew...yea we need to do a video on this. Maybe we will go to the warrior games next year and document the experience :)
Good to know about park reservations!
New to your channel as taking family beginning of December upon return from overseas. How do you go about getting salute tickets? We also picked tickets through shades of green yet doesn’t show on reservation. How do I find out the park reservation is on our shades of green reservation? As I’m not one for planning yet learning much from these videos
Being national guard don’t have base back home. And being deployed in a spot that doesn’t have that type of resource any recommendations to find salute tickets?
We got the Disneyland ones and went at the beginning of May.. I hope they continue this, we are planning a trip to Disney World in 2026!
Aww, man those blackout dates suck though. It's really the only time school is out and we have time to use a 4 day or more park hopper.
The blackout dates are a bummer, for sure. BUT remember that if you get a ticket with more than 4 days you can always split that into two smaller trips. We try to go during other, less crowded holidays and do extended weekends...so 3 days early in the year maybe around presidents day and then maybe the other 3 days later around veterans day. Just an idea :)
Oh my god. I wish I had decided to google what military discounts are at Disney. You explain everything so clearly. .
But now you know! ☺️ I’m glad it’s helpful 🫶🏼
Thank you for taking the time and explaining all of this for first time Disney-goers! Question, is there anything out there for military veterans? My husband qualifies for shades of green but not for the salute to troops tickets. Do you recommend anything?
You're absolutely welcome! If you don't qualify for the salute tickets I recommend getting the Magic Your Way tickets. Its not as much savings as the salute tickets but you'll still save a little and they'll still be tax free if you get them on base or from Shades of Green. We have a video on those too:
ua-cam.com/video/jYeuEAUVoYo/v-deo.htmlsi=_dKTfXXEOdy2nn3b
Do these tickets run out? Is there a reason we should get them now vs right before going to SOG?
The tickets will not run out during the promotional period so you don't need to get them right away BUT I would recommend getting them before your trip just for peace of mind. You won't be able to make park reservations without having your tickets linked to your account and its always better, in my opinion, to have that part taken care of as early as possible. There are days here and there throughout the year where crowds are particularly high and they can refuse entry due to capacity levels or you may just not see any reservations available the day you want to go. You DO have the option of purchasing at Shades of course but theres a risk of not getting the reservations you want at the parks you want...on the days you want. I hope all that makes sense lol
Thanks for keep us informed! Love the 6 day option, I will be buying them for 2024. I do have a question tho regarding transportation to the parks from SOG.
We have never stayed there as we tend to prefer the convenience of the Skyliner and the ease of the bus system. How easy/long does it take to get to the parks from SOG?
I’m trying to weigh convenience vs affordability.
Thanks for your expertise and for this amazing content!
You're quite welcome! And thank you for watching!
I apologize for the late reply (holidays have been madness lol) But to answer your question on transportation...I try my best to show this in our videos. Hopefully you've been able to find some of those where I document the route and the time frames. Magic Kingdom and Epcot have their own bus schedule, for instance, and it takes about 7-10 mins from the SOG bus stop to the TTC. From there its based on which mode of transportation you choose, how busy the park is, what time of day you're going. Another bus goes from SOG to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. They stop at AK first and then drop off at HS. If you search for our AK and HS videos I'll likely have the precise timing there to give you a good idea. Like I mentioned though, its all really determined by time of year and crowd levels but the buses at SOG have always been punctual in our experience. As long as you know the schedule for the week and for the park you're visiting you won't have a problem :) I hope that provides some insight to help you make your decision!
@@battlegroundbiscuits wow, thank you so much!! Just found one of your videos where you guys took the bus to HS then you hopped over to Epcot. Seems pretty easy when you explain it.
I never took the monorail before, so going to the TTC via a bus would
Be something new to me.
My son loves the Skyliner so much it’s pretty much his favorite ride 😂
Thanks again for all of that information and all of the amazing content you post!
Off topic but I thought you might find this funny. I take a mother daughter trip to Disney and Shades Oct 30 for 4 days.. ( get to see Halloween and a small bit of Christmas too) but my mom packs her carry one bag with Provel cheese!!!!! I am not sure if I am more excited for provel or Disney. LoL
😲 Is your mom Mary Poppins?! With the goodies in her bag?! 😂 Omg I love that! When I was pregnant with Story my mom drove down to Charleston from STL (12 hrs) and brought me a half baked imos pizza 🤣 I went into labor the next day so apparently the cheese really is magical lol
You mentioned a video where you compared MYW, Salute, and Disney tickets but I don't see the link.
I think I was referring to a video we did last year comparing the prices so those will be different numbers now...but still relevant to this year. The difference in price is still very much in favor for Salute being the best value, then MYW through SOG and Disney tickets last. Heres the link :)
ua-cam.com/video/y0DTejms2j8/v-deo.htmlsi=i7Lw4c0xoXqzi7e_
From what I have read that if you link your military tickets to a hotel reservation you only need to make a reservation for the first day of your stay and that’s it. Have you heard differently?
That was likely misinformation 😬 With military tickets (even when they are linked with the hotel) you’ll still need to make a park reservation for each park day, individually. You can do that as soon as you have your tickets linked, before your trip begins.
You may have been reading about verifying/activating your tickets? If you purchased your military tickets from a base ticket office you will need to take them to any guest relations or ticket window once you get to Disney on your first day or before your first park visit to verify your military ID (which is what people refer to as “activating”) After that you’re all set! I hope that makes sense?
@@battlegroundbiscuits no I just misread it off the Disney site. I went back to read it and released I misinterpreted what it said. You are right though thanks for all the information.
@@Nursejustinreviews no worries at all! It’s a LOT to take in 😮💨
Do you have any tips for universal studios military tickets?
I wish I did! That is something we will be exploring in the next few years as our daughter gets a little bigger. Right now we are obsessed with the mouse 😍🫶🏼 I hear you can get some great deals at Universal though!
True true all true. Thank you and wishing @battlegroundbiscuits the best
I need help planning. I want to go for 2 weeks with my boyfriend and be able to go to any park, any day for those 2 weeks
First you'll need to decide where you'll be staying (on property or off) and then verify your ticket eligibility. If you qualify for the salute tickets you'll be able to purchase a 6 day ticket. For a 2 week visit you'll need two of those for a total of 12 park visits (assuming you'll want a couple days off in between there somewhere) So for you and your boyfriend to go you'll need 4 total. When you place your order for the tickets make sure you include the park hopper on your tickets so that you can go between theme parks as you wish. I hope that helps! If you need more help planning I just finished filming several planning guide videos to walk you through the whole process. Just search the channel for the Disney First Timer series :)
Since date reservations are needed with these but park hopping is open to all day again, do we need to start at our reserved park, even just to check in and then head to the park we want to hop to?
Correct! If you want to park hop you'll just need to tap into your original park that you made your reservation for and then "hop" over to the next one at any time after that :)
Salute tickets are on of the biggest reasons we keep coming back! Love love love
I feel that 🙌🏼 I can’t tell you how many times we hear “you’re going to Disney again?” Well…yea, they make it hard to say no lol
Thanks for the video! We’re planning a trip for January and I’m a little confused how we make a park reservation with the Salute tickets since they still need to be activated at the park?
You’re welcome! So, park reservations are easy peasy. Do you have the ‘My Disney Experience’ app downloaded? If not, just an account with Walt Disney world on their website will do. When you sign in, either on your phone app or the website you will link your ticket (the 12 digit code on the back of your physical card or the code you were emailed from your base) and then navigate to the park reservation tab to select your park for each day. You don’t need to verify (activate) your ticket until you’re physically AT the park and ready to scan into one of them. Before you can enter the park you’ll have to visit one of the guest relations counters to show them your ID and then you’ll be set! If you purchase your tickets through Shades of Green you won’t even need to do that part because you’ll have already verified yourself during the ticket transaction. I hope that helps!
@@battlegroundbiscuits Thank you for the answer, I did not know about the code from the ticket! It’s been several years since I’ve bought the military tickets so this was very helpful
@@funkenstein1981 you’re absolutely welcome! I wish I could take a picture of it and leave it here in the comments for you but UA-cam’s just not there yet lol
Love the breakdown! Do u know if Disneyland, California offers a similar promo and how to purchase! TYSM & HNY!!!! 🙏🏽
Thank you so much! Yes! Disneyland has a separate offer for military. We have a video all about it if you do a quick search on the channel. It was recently 😎 I hope that helps! 🫶🏼
And Happy New Year!! 🥳🥳🥳
When you say only 6 tickets for both military and spouse member combined does that mean if I choose to buy two 4 day hopper I can only buy one ? I appreciate all you do. Thank you!
The days on your ticket is completely up to you and has no impact on your allowance of 6 tickets 🙌🏼 So, for example, if you’re the only one buying the military promo ticket you could buy the 4 day park hopper ticket 6 separate times (for 24 visits to the theme park)! If it’s you and your spouse you would each get to purchase a ticket 3 times (2+2+2 so 6 total tickets) Or if you’re a family of 3 then you could purchase tickets twice (3+3) Each of those tickets can be 4, 5 or 6 day tickets. So if you’re family goes frequently then those 6 day tickets become incredibly useful! I hope that makes sense! You’re always welcome to ask any questions 🥰 Thanks for watching and supporting!
Thank you so much, love your channel.
Does Shades of Green do room upgrades if you ask upon arrival?
You can always ask them if there are any suites available when you check in but you'll have to pay the difference in room cost. And if you do happen to snag a suite upon arrival then go out and buy a lottery ticket because the odds of them being open are SLIM. Since there aren't very many of them they go really quick. Aside from upgrades though, you can absolutely request a certain wing or a particular area of the resort you want to be in. People will also ask for rooms with double vanities vs single vanities too so thats something to consider. Always ask at the front desk if theres something you prefer and they always try to accommodate!
Hi! Thanks for all the great videos. If I bought promotional tickets through shades of green and entered them into the MyDisneyExperience app do I need to activate them? Also would the tickets be linked to my magic bands if I already have my magic bands in the app? Thanks.
Hi! And thank YOU! You are correct. All tickets purchased from Shades of Green are already activated/verified. Once you have your ticket numbers entered into MDE you’re good to go to the front entrance of the park and scan in. If you have an active magic band already linked to MDE then your tickets will be linked to those automatically. Simply scan your finger and then hold your magic band up to the reader until it’s green 😁
@@battlegroundbiscuits thank you so much! We watched all the videos and they are beyond helpful!
@@MichaelHuff-b7b SO happy to hear we could help!! 🥳 We really appreciate your kind words and sincerely hope you have an incredible trip!
Are we able to buy tickets in 2024 and use them for 2025?
The salute tickets for this year are only valid through December 20 of 2024 BUT the Magic Your Way tickets are valid through December 2025. If you haven’t watched that video I highly recommend checking that one out as it could be a better option for you if you’re trying to get tickets and make plans asap. Also, if you give it until mid November that’s when Disney usually announces the following years promotions for military so there’s always a chance that they offer these tickets again for 2025 (but just not guaranteed) I hope that helps! 🫶🏼
