@@grauph1up It's the Norwegian version of what BBC is to the UK. When I was growing up in the 70s, we only had one norwegian tv channel, nrk. Because I lived somewhat close to the border with Sweden, we actually had options, but for most norwegians NRK was what you'd get on the telly untill late 1980s. I still mainly watch NRK because they have no commercials.

Being a child of the 80's, I grew up with Bowie. Both of my parents were huge Bowie fans. I'll never forget the day we lost him. My dad texted me at 4am to tell me that Bowie had passed. I don't think any other celebrities passing has affected me in the same way his did. Maybe it was the shift in social climate at the time that compounded the feeling of loss, but it really felt like we lost him when the world needed him the most. I just remember listening to "Five Years" constantly over the following months. Little did I know that in five years, we would be in some of the darkest days we've ever seen as human beings. I don't think any other artist could cover this song as beautifully or respectfully as Aurora. Like Bowie, Aurora is a shining light in the dark.

Hi again guys. Angelina/Aurora fan so I will always be here for both of these great artists. I do believe she is playing a Fender Rhodes piano built in the 1960's and very popular in the 70's. Invented by Harold Rhodes, who invented the electric piano. Very unique sound for sure and Aurora plays it beautifully. Absolutely love her version of this iconic Bowie song. Having grown up during the Bowie era, saw him Live NJ in the early 70's, can really appreciate what Aurora has created with this song. Her version at Nidarosdomen Cathedral is equally beautiful.. I really love this cover by her, but she always nails it imo👍😍
She has many great covers, and one of my favourites are “Believer” by Imagine Dragons.
Yes it’s a beautiful cover, but the story behind is so cool👍😊
She didn’t know she was going to sing this song until she arrived the radio station, and when she had picked the song she had one hour to rehearse before singing it live. And she hadn’t even heard it before😳
    This is what she said:
“I'm not very good with new music as you probably all know. I also went through their list of songs and saw the name Imagine Dragons. I hadn't heard of them before and thought it was such a cool name - DRAGONS ARE SO COOL!” AURORA

This cover of Bowie is such a lovely tribute to an artist for whom she has the highest respect. For something completely different in her collection of cover songs, her treatment of "Believer" by Imagine Dragons is another where she completely makes the song her own. She was on a show where she gave an interview and performed one of her own songs. but as a requirement for her appearance, she was given a task. She had one hour to chose a song, listen to and learn it. She had never heard it, but chose the song because of the word 'dragons'. The piano is a Fender Rhodes piano that was popular in the 70's.

Thank you again Runar! I'm going to have to check out some stuff based around that piano now...I remember the more wildly playing electric piano sounds, acid rock and stuff.... The tones and her voice were so seamless at times like vocal bells :)

Very nice! My favorite version of this cover, and she's always great with just keyboard/piano or guitar. A short clip where she forgets the lyrics (not a first for Aurora 😊), and has to ask the audience for help : ua-cam.com/video/GbpIjkfA32Y/v-deo.html
She's got great songs herself, but one of my favorite covers of hers is "La La La" from Radio Hamburg. Aurora with Odd Martin Skålnes on guitar/harmonies.

Every detail I learn about her I feel so much more understanding of her =,D Nerdmuma is used to me picking up somewhere in the middle of a conversation I've had going in my head =,D Thank you A Frisvold!

@@grauph1up "Conversations in my head" sounds familiar... I have some of those 😄. She's quite the introvert, and sometimes zone out on stage or during interviews. Comfortable with her flaws though, and handle it with humor. Most of her die hard fans connects with her personality as much as they do with her music.

So, how about some Leonard Cohen then?
Back in 2017, producer Christer Falck was project managing a tribute concert to celebrate Leonard Cohen, who had died in November 2016.
He had heard that Aurora was a big fan of Cohen so he contacted her management to see if she would be interested in taking part ...
It took a whole 15 minutes before he got a yes.

Thank you Peter! That one is going to be as soon as we get to record again I think. Cohens voice is a comfort to me. I'm really looking forward to Aurora performing this...

Nerdmuma said Yes she does and she thinks I do.. but she's about to find out I still have no idea who Massive attack is =D She says I know who they are.... and now she say's it's the 'House' song like that's going to help me haha.... I'm really not sure why I can never remember them... but yes Nerdmuma knows it and keeps telling me I'm not retaining the conversation we've had about it =,D

That's a vintage Fender Rhodes she's playing, almost sounds like a toy piano at times.

Thank you Mathew! I wrote them both down I only remember the name Linda Ronstadt and I'm sure I've heard her songs but can't recall any names. Ah just looked her up and probably her doing Blue Bayou is what I remember. I don't think we've heard any Avett Brothers yet.

Yes, Aurora is an artist, no doubt. Angelina J, Aurora -- and Sigrid, could be counted in as a third very different option for a super Norwegian young woman power trio. Go Norway...

Did you notice anything strange sitting on top of her Rhodes piano?
If it looks like 6 dead cockroaches......it's cuz it is lol.
When Aurora was interviewed by Howard Stern she mentioned how she put them there....to help her feel less anxious. Aurora _loves_ bugs, especially moths. I've seen this a hundred times...and never noticed that until she mentioned it lol.

Wow that actually made the Sky concert mean that much more to me and the connection of moths... I will go back and point it out to Nerdmuma now =,D
