Unforgettable ride, indeed! Pretty intense, isn't it?
I was really afraid about you during part one. It hits deeply. It is for sure one of the most important and most serious Ren's art. Some day I found a summary/explanation of this in youtube comments, sorry, I don't remeber the author, I it was like this: "Ren was the Prosecuter/Judge and the Hostage/Deliquent was the anonymous Money Game which he blamed and judged. But as the Money Game got eyes it wasn't anonymous anymore and he realized that we're all part of this old Money Game, including himself. So he couldn't fulfill his final role as Executor unless when executing himself." Ren said he was disappointed that many people did not catch the meaning of it, this summary explains it good imho. Plus: it is live, one-take video, repeated 180+ times (as far as I know) to reach right impact.
Part two is a set of many references, e.g. @7:20 - 10 Downing Street in London is the official residence and office of the Prime Minister of the UK, @8:11 a contestant of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" is shown, who cheated to win a million ("turns a saint into the sinner") and many, many more. Selling shells is a refference to Shell Company (see first paragraph here: www.shell.com/about-us/our-heritage/our-company-history.html). It is a nice excercise to find as many references in this video to places/companies/people/movies etc. as you can. Great punchline!
Part three is just a masterpiece. I like your comment about Jenny and Screech (@20:52). The humming style reminds "The Violet's Tale" but it also has James Bond movies vibes (a lot of people confirm it). And the words at the end "It's such a damn shame" also refer ending of Jenny's Tale and Screech Tale. Nice touch. About the cinematography: take a look here, please: ua-cam.com/video/CdEFYPef7RU/v-deo.html About the strings - do you hear Money Game Part 1 and/or Part 2 here? ;) About the piano - don't you think it gets dizzy/drunk when he "starts abusing his product"? Vertigo, like at the very beginning of camera work.

Plus, did anyone notice that Screech's name is the same. His name is James .... so just a different tragedy if Screech had grown up at the other end of the money street? With an overbearing father with the wrong ideals instead of an absent one and raised in the system and on the streets?

Another great reaction Roni. Like you, ever since I discovered Ren at the beginning of the year I've been blown away by this guy's talent. I think Part 3 is one of the most amazing pieces of art I've ever seen. I'm almost scared to think what this genius will come up with next!
FYI the guy in the hood playing guitar in Part 1 is Romain from The Big Push. Also Ren references *She sells sea shells" in Hi Ren, "We've heard it all before, she sells..." I think directly referring to Part 1 which was released before Hi Ren ❤

Glad you enjoyed! I love music/films/shows that make me feel and think and see what choices I can make to be better. This is one of those pieces that do that. Evoke thought.
Some context - I'm sure someone else has mentioned that it was Hi Ren, where the seashells line used. But the reason it was used in Hi Ren where his darker side was speaking to his lighter side and mocking him that his biggest success up to that point in his career wasn't even something original, as he based it on a known nursery rhyme. The reason that it was his biggest success is because that 1 though 10 section of the song was turned into a meme by someone where Luigi(from the Super Mario Brothers) was explaining economics to another Luigi and it went viral, being recreated in many ways, claymation, stop motion, with different characters and so on. It was Ren's biggest exposure across the internet even though most the people that saw it had no idea who the artist even was. I'm sure this was affected Ren because no one wants their biggest success to be a meme but at the same time, it got his music heard by more people. A positive and a negative, just like the whole struggle in Hi Ren.

It's like being trapped at the bottom of the ocean and you can clearly see a better world on the surface, but you just can't reach it no matter how hard you try.

Singer, song writer, multi instrumentalist, rapper, beatboxer, hip hop artist, story teller, composer, director and producer - life just ain’t fair sometimes. Ren is the musical equivalent of Obelix in the Asterix Stories, he fell into the magic potion when just a babe.
I forgot to mention the unsung hero in MG 3 is Charlie the pianist whose playing and timing is beyond brilliant because this is an extremely difficult performance to pull off.
He is incredible. I love that people with so much talent share it with us. 🙏💜

Money Game Part 3 is a one take until the camera passes behind the wheelchair, and from then on it is again a one take. The cut was necessary to transfer the brooch with the mike from the jacket lapel into a waterproof container in his tie knot. You can spot it there, when you look at it closely.

I like your reactions because you always allow yourself to feel the song (no pausing), then I was holding this Ren video back, to watch it here - someday I have "a break from my insane work hours". And it talks so perfectly as how I'm conducting myself the last weeks. I'm a filmmaker (for love) and I forgot it for such a time, then this incredible video by Samuel and Ren, definitively brought me back, to a more constructed critical thinking. And your reaction, as always, were great, you don't exempt from being, sometimes, part of this money game. Great reaction for such a great video!

Hurt my heart to see your pain when he was spitting facts in part 1 but thank you for this channel, once again, and for all being worked through. **edit we only know each other when we break bread with one another, person by person. My nf friend! Indeed ma’am how do you describe this! I’m being dead honest Roni when I first seen hi Ren 3 times I had never seen anything like it and absolutely thought it was so brilliant and honest but then I said to myself that it was so special he would never be able to create something like that again. But after seeing the trilogy tales, and now this trilogy he has given me an entire different perspective of him!!!!!
He really does make magic. And he does it with so much love and professionalism every time! I'm so glad I heard "Hi Ren" - that's how I discovered him.
Oh wow Roni, loved that you did all 3 together. There is so much to unpack in this trilogy, I took a simple message from each: MG1 - the misuse of freedom of speech MG2 - the corruption money can bring 3 - the importance of nurturing and how it can lead to power being a bigger currency than money itself. I'll watch these another day and see other take aways. Then vein running through all 3 of course is how all of us are inextricably part of "this old money game". A crude example of that would be the drug trade Jimmy moves to, peoples habits feed that industry, often glamourized with famous musicians stories of drug parties etc. I enjoyed your journey through all 3, what a friggin' talent he is!

Ren is a reminder of the goodness out there. He truly believes in what he's performing because they are his words, unedited by a team of people trying to make it more acceptable to the masses. What they don't realize is we (the masses) want original thought, we want, are desperate for, someone outside the box, and while Ren might not appeal to everyone (although I don't know why not) those of us that get it, really get it. I once watched a reactor sit through Hi Ren and then say, he didn't like it because it required too much thought. That just makes me sad.
Hmm... Maybe it was just not the right time for this reactor to watch it.
I came to this channel with an open mind, knowing that I might watch things that are just not for me, or that I'm not ready to watch yet.
Ren does take thought...

Totally agree Roni about kindness. Isn't kindness the highest form of enlightenment and intelligence? Only through genuine kindness and empathy can we learn to live together peacefully. But instead we choose to blame each other, it's always someone else's fault, every one of us is a domino in this money game. I'm noticing with Ren he uses the wheelchair as symbolic of perspective. To gain true barebones perspective you have to suffer, really suffer, perspective comes at great cost, the ultimate cost in Jimmy's case. But as he says, it's a version of me, of him, of she ... all of us. What an amazing story teller and though provoker Ren is, I love him for making us think and feel and connect with the most important stories about who we are.
He really does take us on an adventure. There's always a beginning, the main event and the ending. Storytelling at it's best. Always.
“Crucify Your Culture” could be part of the Money Game saga IMO. Follows the same theme.

I loved this reaction... but it just hit me. I went to a holocaust survivor speech recently, Honey Girl is what she goes by... Your quote of "what if the dad had taught him to just be good instead of chasing the dollar" reminded me of my favorite quote from her - and I use it with my kids to this day - "always try to do good, but if you can't do good, just try not to do bad". This trilogy has reminded me to teach my kids to be the best versions of themselves, and perfection will never be asked of them. Be kind, try to be good, if you can't be good, don't be bad.

I really don't get how Ren has achieved all that he has, especially when you realize that he's an independent artist, and doesn't have billions of dollars, supporting him. It really is amazing, when you think about it.

I don´t know you and you don´t know me. But in that moment where you eyes went down i felt a deep connection. I hope that doesn´t sound creepy. I am a secular moslem and on the 7th of October my eyes went down like yours during the reaction. But i won´t let them loose my hope in humanity. There is evil everywhere , on every side but i know , i hope you and everybody else who reads this should know , we are not the minority, they are. Shalom , Selam and Peace.
